  • All their other guitars are 4 or 500 bux...But all of a SUDDEN this one is, like, nearly a GRAND...What is it, a Gibson? LOL

  • I love this guitar. I only wish it was just like the original that Mark Farner played.

  • i love that Mark "Grand Funk Railroad" Farner trademark guitar! =0D

  • Could you please make a little quick tab for the riff you are playing till 0:07? That sounds awesome! :-)

  • The perfect Beatles guitar.

  • I think I saw Jack White from the White Stripes playing something that looked similar to this recently--he was playing "Seven Nation Army", and getting the same kind of fuzztone sound. Don't know if it was a cheaper imitation of the 'real thing'

  • @notfragile33 I think Jack was playing his Harmony guitar for that one

  • @moomanns It looked just like an extra large Messenger, but as close to a Messenger as I've seen anyone else play. Sort of like a large semi-hollow Gibson with no cutaways, but very similar sound to a Messenger on the fuzz

  • @notfragile33 I looked on brokenbricks and what it is, is a 1950's Kay archtop. Kay used to be a department store(as far as I know they've shut down, I haven't heard of the brand name for quite a while). Kay sold a lot of guitars like this for quite cheap, and Jack had received one as payment from his brother for helping him move. Jack uses a Big Muff frequently live and on recordings, at least with the White Stripes.

  • Great guitar for playing blues--John Lee Hooker should have played something like this! has the sugary, sweetest "woman tone" as well!

  • Mark Farner from Grand Funk Railroad....put that ax through a really loud stack and you're there.

  • im selling a brand new one same as this one

only $650 if anyone is interested

  • I would kill for this guitar...lol, what would be a good starter guitar?

  • That thing can wail. No feed back! Can the Classic 6 really blast like this thing can at the 50 second mark?

  • 0:47 - 0:59 hell yeah! this baby can sing

  • The reverb amp has nothing to do with it. I got my Messenger today and its a really nice guitar. There's nothing whatever wrong with the neck..the fretwork is particularly good and the finish on this guitar is excellent. The Eastwood Messenger is a lovely replica which really captures the look and general vibe of the original without any of the problems. I've played some nice guitars in my time and this is a peach.. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone whatever their style.

  • Novice?..I don't think so. Old fart yes!! I've been playing since 1970, so I do know a bit about classic guitars and amps. I agree a Fender Twin is very nice...never played a horse's ass though. You say you can tell a Korean guitar by the neck feel? Very clever. There's actually an easier way...it says Made In Korea on the sticker which tends to give it away.. Not that it matters in the slightest. The Eastwood Messenger is a really good quality instrument..

  • Lance....from one "old fart" guitar player to another....Excellent come back. "I've never played a horse's ass...", freakin' classic my man! Mind if I use that one? Hahaha!! And the sticker says made in Korea!!! Brother, you made my day....LOL!!

BTW....I'm currently looking at a Messenger here in Cincinnati.....You may have helped seal the deal, Thanks Bro.

  • the amp is a deluxe reverb you arse!

  • lobobtomy hurt?

  • give me a description on what the messenger sounds like through a fender style clean. Its hard to tell from this video as the guy has a weird playin style. I have an epiphone riviera with mini humbuckers which i guess is a comparison.

  • i've played more badly made american guitars than korean ones. Korean stuff is really well made. The eastwoods transend the quality of most korean made stuff like epiphones etc.

  • Yeah the guy does look like the late Terry Knight!. I just took a chance and ordered one in cherry from Rose Lane Music here in England. The Mark Farner connection is a part of it., I loved Grand Funk way back. The guitar itself looks great and has had some nice reviews and I fancy a semi-accoustic with a bit of character. I'll report back if anyone is interested...Why should they feel like toy guitars? They look pretty damn good to me..Chris

  • I really like this. But I have heard it said before that Eastwoods feel like toy guitars. Can anyone elaborate?

  • not sure who would say that, we have plenty of PRO players using them, from REM to John Fogerty, etc.

  • Actually, the best thing should be to test them.

But with only 4 shops for France and Belgium, it's quite difficult.

It's difficult to make a "blind buy" with something unusual and "outside the box" as an Eastwood.

  • @myway43 Jerkoffs that have something against Korean/Chinese made instruments probably. I've seen a lemon Eastwood before. I've seen more that are definitely worth the money.

  • @myway43 This guitar does not feel like a toy. I have tried one in a shop and it played great and was constructed well.

  • @myway43 Maybe some of the old ones but so do other oversee random guitars. From my experience Eastwood are cool and quality instruments. -PK

  • good demo! is it me or does this guy looks like grand funk`s first producer terry knight?

  • thats my guitar teacher!

  • Truly a beauty, just like the tuxedo!

  • GREAT video of the messenger!

  • Nice one!
