  • Just so everyone knows, this hack is officially cancelled.

It's being remade as a Game Maker project.

I'm using an opensource Megaman engine and turning it to pixel perfect recreation of the NES physics. Stay tuned for some new videos.

  • @TrueKoalaKnight subscribed.

I really do wanna see this project unfold.

  • resoeek

  • @Skaarj11 Huh?

  • why the fuck are there still people who think that there is actually a proper port of Rockman 7 (J).nes

  • @HertzDevil : That's a good question. I'd say it's ignorance coupled with laziness.

  • You should make actual portraits. Well, I can do that if you want.

  • The link is dead.

  • wait since hes powered down does that mean we cant go PEW PEW PEW

  • @587DeathKing : Yes.

  • @TrueKoalaKnight NNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @587DeathKing what's "pew pew pew" ??

  • @blkjock81 shoot the buster

  • That is pretty damn cool. I've always wanted to see Timeman and Oilman retconned in.

  • That's right. Powered Down is an 8-bit remake of Powered up. I should really put up some videos of the current incarnation.

  • @MapleAwesome12

No, powered down means that the PSP version of megaman 1 is megaman powered up and speaking of which Megaman "powered Down" favors the classic 8-bit style graphics than the cartoonish 3d style of Megaman Powered Up. Ive made my point.

  • mega man powered down aka mega man 9

  • You could put in mugshots

  • YOu should add the mugs

  • Powerd down haha priceless

Is it just a stupid old versionor a totally messed up one?

  • Powered down! Hahaha

    That's priceless

  • So with this, are you planning on putting new music on it? and Will the Demo have a couple of stages or a sampling run-through like in Forever?

  • The L should change to a W, it's not like is a MM9 kind of story, we know it's willy and it's willy castle/skull castle. (And in MM9 they use the W for the castle anyway)

  • Yea it is, the first 8 robot masters are reprogrammed by wily, megaman 9 wily pulls the same stunt to better success, but fails still

  • Don't worry guys I WILL be working on this again. Life has kept me busy for a while.

  • It's okay. Life is more important after all. :P

  • if its "powered down"

then it should be WORSE then the original not BETTER

thats just stupid if its better.

  • the meaning of "Powered Down" means here that Megaman is now weaker than the original game.

  • Ok then.

  • It's a play on "Powered Up" obviously. It's just to denote that it is the PSP remake ported down to a less powerful system.

Megaman will have the same powers that he had in MM1 with the rest of his abilities provided by hidden items in the game.

  • @MapleAwesome12 Powered Down means that this is based off of MegaMan Powered Up, but in 8-bit

  • @MapleAwesome12 yeah but in powered up he isn't so stronger....

  • Yeah, you should use Robot Master portraits for the stage select screen. Go to Sprites, Inc. and check the Misc. section for Mega Man 3, and you should see portraits of Mega Man 1's bosses. Use those instead of the actual RM sprites that Mega Man 1 used. All that would be left is to draw your own Oil Man and Time Man. I'd love to play this.

  • You could also use the MM1 portraits from Megaman: The Wily Wars on Genesis. Or are they the same portraits?

  • I think they're the same, but they're in 16-bit, so for a more "authentic" Powered Down look, the portraits from Mega Man 3's ending credits seem like a better choice.

  • I found out after making my comment that he ended up using the Wily Wars portraits anyway, with slight modifications here and there to fit into the game properly. Oil Man and Time Man are indeed custom made, but i think they're edits of the official Powered Up art, but don't quote me on that.

  • That's right! Someone made some edits and 2 customs for the new bosses before I ever had a chance to work on them myself. I modded & formatted those and inserted them.

I guess I should upload the finished select screen.

  • Ohai! It's nice to see you're still around. :P

  • For .Nes or .Exe?

The select boss screen it will be this? Or it will have avatar?

  • Yes. Aang and Katara are both confirmed, with Zuko rumoured.

  • It is pretty good but you should use robot master pictures instead of letters in the boxes.

  • I've been keeping an eye on this hack for a while. Can't wait to play it. Any plans of bringing 2 & 3 up to 4-6 standard (after this of course) or downgrading 7, 8, and R&F? Granted, it's just wishful thinking on my part to be able to play all the classic games on a real NES (including 9), but hopefully someday. Keep up the good work.

  • There's a remake of 7 out that's made to look like the NES games, but it's not an actual NES ROM. A similar remake of 8 is in development, too. Maybe the "downgrades" could be based on those.

  • MM7 has already been remade into NES format and the same people are working on MM8. Its on youtube look it up. ;)

  • Actually the RM8fc group is different from the RM7fc group.

There is a map editor available for the MM7 one. Anyone interested should check it out.

  • theres a RM8fc?

    where can i download it?

  • Last time I checked they still didn't have much of a demo, but if you google "Rockman 8 fc" you should find their project site. Be warned it is in Japanese. You can search Rockman Perfect Memories' forum for more info.
