Actually, I think Floyd Jr. clearly has the best chin of all the Mayweathers. He's been cracked a few times by some very good punchers (Corrales - Diego hit Floyd with a beautiful clean hook right on the jaw late in the fight; Floyd smiled and danced away - Judah, Oscar, etc.) and never really been hurt at all. Floyd Jr.'s biggest advantage may be that he isn't as lanky and his dad and uncle, with their scrawny little legs, and can absorb shots better. But his dad impressed me a great deal here.

Mayweather nearly got knocked out by a nearly 40 year old, and was staggered all over the ring. He also got hit by every left to the body that Mosley threw.
He keeps his elbows too high, and his hands out too far. He faces such poor opposition, he can still look good, but, even then, he got outjabbed by DLH. Would he even land a punch against Leonard, Benitez or Whitaker?

Mayweather can only make guys miss by moving away. Then he can't throw punches. That's not hard to do. When guys get inside, he gets hit.
Leonard could stay within range, land his own shots, and still rarely ever get hit. There's a huge difference.

Man, great fight. I can see the similarities between Floyd Sr. fighting style, and his sons. I think Jr. has developed this style further, or rather his style's a mixture of his own style, and his fathers. On the other hand, it was really cool to see how Sugar Ray Leonard dealt with Mayweather's fighting style.

Majority of all Mayweathers have glass jaws. Thats why the gift of reach was bestowed upon them. Combine that with defense, it allows them to control the fight from range. A true fighter gets inside. Lights out, like Floyd Sr., Roger Mayweather, and thats why Floyd Jr. stop brawling in welterweight. Floyd Jr. brawled with Corrales but as soon as he moved up. He became pure boxer.

Yeah (Cosell?) was hating really hard on Ray. Everytime he busted him with a shot he says "he's not hurt by that" or "he slipped there" or "the crowd yelled but he didn't do anything". It's obvious Ray was in control the whole damn time. Blatantly biased.

Are you listening to a different announcer than me? Howard Cosell was a big fan of SRL; he once called Ray "the new Muhammad Ali". They had a respectful relationship. Cosell was a charismatic, knowledgeable announcer who some people loved, including me. When Howard described a slip, he was correct. But you can hear genuine excitement in his voice following the knockdown when says, "Now you're seeing the Sugar Ray Leonard we've become accustomed to!" Cosell loved Leonard.

Looks to me that Leonard underestimated Mayweather and wasted a lot of punches early. He seems to be trying to prove something to Mayweather or to the media. I can't tell the size difference but it also seems like Mayweather is difficult to hit from the outside.

He fought for a belt in his second to last fight of his career, USBA 147 belt vs Marlon Starling. Besides him and Sugar, Floyd never really fought good competition. Sugar was going real easy on him. Sugar almost looks like hes sparring. Anyway...Floyd retired 29-6

Gotta give it up to Floyd for being able to survive and last that long, but Sugar is by far more superior in the mental game.
He had Floyd helpless in so many situations.

Actually, I think Floyd Jr. clearly has the best chin of all the Mayweathers. He's been cracked a few times by some very good punchers (Corrales - Diego hit Floyd with a beautiful clean hook right on the jaw late in the fight; Floyd smiled and danced away - Judah, Oscar, etc.) and never really been hurt at all. Floyd Jr.'s biggest advantage may be that he isn't as lanky and his dad and uncle, with their scrawny little legs, and can absorb shots better. But his dad impressed me a great deal here.

(Con't)Floyd Jr. uses his father mistakes and capitilizes off of it. Not as much power as his father had, but he is quicker and sharper and avoids getting hit.On a side note. Boxers today are not what they were yesterday. You actually see the punishment these guys took. They were warriors back then.

Mayweather Sr. Was pretty good. Very Good defense, and he had a nice jab. His jab would have been more effective had he stepped into it instead of fading away to avoid the counter the Ray was throwing.
Ray has power, but he is not a power fighter. He is more of a finess fighter and uses his speed and mobility to avoid punches and counter effectively.
