Hiya ;) Thanks for asking. Yes, it's a 3" acrylic ball. There are lots of places you can order them online & I know they also come in 2" and 2.5" sizes. Hope that helps!
Ever since i was 12 years old ive been wondering what this is called. Me and my friend met a man who was balancing this green crystal ball along his arms and shoulders. And he said it was a ancient chinese art and that the ball was almost indistructable.
Is any of this true. Also where would u suggest i buy this type of ball. I would really like to get into this sport, balancing feat if u will.
actually you can get an "acrylic" contact juggling ball at jugglingstore(dot)com and that ball is nearly indistructible. if you do get into it go to contactjuggling(dot)org
Looks like you're coming along wonderfully =) Looking forward to seeing your progress.
I'd like to pass along a pointer that My contact juggler teacher/friend has shared with me several times...If you find yourself fumbling on a move, go ahead and slow it down, make the ball identify with the various stall points =) I hope I explained that correctly, hehe.
I'm sure you could use a hard rubber ball with no problem. Too light and it's hard to maintain any control over it. I've practiced a lot with oranges and such too. Have fun!!
Most CJ balls are of acrylic, it's Nearly unbreakable. Practice on your bed, or in a grass field, or on the floor surrounded by a few pillows =)
But prepare for your first ball to end up looking...well loved =) If you practice outside, caution on the clear balls, they take the light and act like a magnifying glass, and can cause burns. Owie.
I've heard it's nice to start on a 3" acrylic ball. I have one, it's pink, it's name is Pinky =)
That white t makes your ball seem invisible when you're doing body rolls. :-) You're doing the kind of stuff I'm trying to learn right now. Keep it up!
lol - yeah I walk all over Portland dropping the poor crack-filled crystal wherever I go. Actually, I drop it less when I'm walking 'cause I'm used to it heh - it _does_ have all sorts of pretty cracks, dings, & scratches in it from catching bricks & concrete (it's even been hit by a car once & shot 4 blocks away *grin*).
was it really hard to learn?? im thinking about getting one..

Lo practicas muy rápido!!
Pienso que si lo haces mas lento, dará fluidez a tus movimientos

¡Gracias! Creo que la cámara fotográfica hizo me un poco nervioso también. Intentaré retrasar sin embargo.
(*hopes that made some semblance of sense*)

I'm trying to learn how to contact juggle, can you use something less fragile than crystal, like rubber?
