Gilligan you must pay attention to Babys Rain Falling for a fresh water supply for you. Gilligan you must also pay attention to Babys Wind Blowing for that one in a thousand chance of sailing off your island.
Does anyone have a full copy of this song by the guy who a actually did the singing in the movie that Steve McQueen lip synched to?? That was alot better. I have the soundtrack album and could never figure out why they didn't use the version in the picture??
Hi Holly. I've always thought if I had a voice like Glen's I'd head off to the woods and sing myself to death. Have delighted in his singing since the Limeliters. Saw him once, in 1969 in Boise, Idaho, and will never forget it. How we both happened to be travelling through at the same time I'll never know. It's great to read he's around and well.
When I saw Steve McQueen in the movie of the same name I became a fan of his ever since. And the title song has stuck w/me forever, it's good to hear it again thanks to youtube. Long Live Mr. Cool Steve McQueen !
One of the most beautiful voices of my childhood. Thanks for posting. May Glenn and his talent live on forever. Regards Holly. Please give your Dad my love and appreciation.
Hey Gang, I'm Glenn's daughter Holly. It's great to read all your comments. Also, to BailedOut...Dad's doing just fine. He lives in Mexico now. Had some bad bouts with the flu last winter, but at 78, he's definitely going strong. His Dad lived to be 96, and his mother 100 so I have high hopes! Warm regards, Holly
Hi Holly, This song - BTW Elmer Bernstein wrote it, NOT Rod McKuen - is one of my 2 favorites of your dad's (I saw the the movie once, it's eminently forgettable); along with McKuen's "Ain't You Glad You're Livin', Joe?" (also a movie theme song). On both those songs, and several others, your dad was partnered with the equally talented conductor David Gates. He also worked with Tommy Morgan (always with lively audience sing-alongs), Perry Botkin Jr., and the late Mort Garson.
Hello Holly. I'm in Australia & bought a LP of your Dad's music in the 1970s...but lost it long ago. I can find only a few of his songs on YouTube. I particularly like "Eternity"..
@HollyYarbrough Your dad has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard! I hope your he is doing great! I wish him excellent health. Long live the Limeliters!
Glenn is very very very ill. "...I don't know now what waits for me, maybe heaven, maybe hell..." I'm guessing heaven could use his vocal talents. God Bless you, Glenn.
I had an 8-track of this. :D I bought it when I got my first car: a 1978 Cadillac Seville. It had an AM/FM stereo with an 8-track tape player, lol. That was in 1998
Yes, I often have thought, all these years, of Gilligan's Island when listening to this majestic sounding song about accepting life's journeys without fear, written by Ernie Sheldon (I believe) and sung by the great Glenn Yarbrough.
Dude, what IS this!? You're off your rocker! (I know, 'cause I fell of mine long ago!) Seriously, THAT is one DERANGED combination! I would have NEVER thought of that! I guess the skipper's posturing did it for ya, huh? wow. talk about a trip.
What is wrong with you???? Dubbing this song is just soooo wrong. The proper sound track should be ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST.

I am joking about Gilligan but seriously as a teenager in the mid 60s this song was one of my favorites and it still is.

I love the movie of the same name that this song is from starring a very young Steve McQueen.
I saw it as a very young girl and the cemetery scene stayed in my mind for years.

Hi Holly, A girlfriend turned me on to Glenn Yarbrough in 1967. I was 21. Everytime I hear Glenn's voice, it takes me back to 1967.
Glad to hear Glenn is doing fine. Say hello from a Northwest fan.......
Ciao,
