I'm going to clip photos and words out of magazines and handwrite my favorite quotes and lyrics and decopage my desk. Thanks for the inspiration! I'll post a video response when I'm done! :D
wow you are insanely good at this i have been watching your videos and your great at entertaining and informing. Its seams to come so natural to you it doesn't feel scripted or over worked. Plus I love love love your look, its very the styles of "Sex and the Single Girl"
What a great idea! I just have to say, you are so much fun to watch. Very 1950's. I'm probably going to spend the rest of my night watching your videos. :)
You're awesome and so fun to watch. Thanks for posting this! I am redoing a little wooden nightstand from the 50s. I am going to paint it fuschia and then decoupage a big graphic element-- maybe a chandelier silhouette on top and your video is helping me get together my ideas!

Great video ! you're too cute :) i'm going to decopauge an old stationary box from Ikea and clippings of makeup and hair pictures to store my makeup and hair stuff ! i think i'm going to be adddiicccted :)
There is something perfect-like in your character. I'm sure you must have been told that before. I don't mean it in any bad way. You remind me of a 1950s housewife on tv :) and so does your music. You would be perfect for acting or doing voice-overs. Very nice voice. And thanks for the tips! :)
@aleybishkis The next step? The whole decoupage technique is demonstrated in the video above. If you mean the next step in my renovation, the cork episode can be found right here on YouTube - just search for Brini Maxwell Cork
i drew a picture on some computer paper and now i am decoupaging it to some art that i got from the doloar store but my paper is bubbling..i dont know how ot fix it..plus when my glue dries its not as glossy as i was hoping it would be..its a satin finish..maybe thats why..how can i keep my paper from bubbling?
@pheonixphire I assume you applied the glue to both the surface your covering and the paper after you've applied it to the surface. It could be the paper you're using. We used a fairly heavy computer paper.
thats what i did. i dont know the weight of the paper..its just regular computer paper.
but i think i have figured it out slightly..if i put th epaer down (without putting glue on the back or glue on the surface first. and put the glue on the front of the paper let it get good and wet then lift it up and put the glue on the back in sections workin from top to bottom..it doesn't bubble as much. still a little bit of bubbling but not so much that it bothers me lol
Brini, what was the song you did on the show a while back prior to your guests arriving to a party? I loved it but cannot remember the name. I think it is you and your music guy and he puts on a record and you sing to it. What was that I loved it. Is it available on youtube?
That song is called Entertaining at Home. It was part of a 1958 trade show for Holiday Magazine and Du Pont fibers, written by Michael Martin Brown. It's something of a signature tune for me.

Brini, spray your prints with matte finish first. Then they won't run. I usually spray front and back just to be safe.
