I've written poetry a few years ago, and it was a situation like yours, after the breakup of a relationship, ending relationship can sometimes cause a disorder of the heart and writing is a way to take advantage of the disorder in a constructive way. After a while I did not feel well to reread the poems, so I burned the papers listening to music and smiling, burning the past, and when I did, I felt like an artistic expression. Now I have devoted myself to books, I think I get better in books.
The fact that you have lived in New York should have encouraged you to write more. I believe that when we are in different places can be more vulnerable to inspirations - people, times, places, everything can be used as inspiration. When you can, I would like to see some of his prose. I hope not to be a very personal request, because there are people who prefer not to expose the writing, but if it is not problem, I'd like to read:)
@artdecade1984 - Yeah I know. But I've found that I'm only writing (good, serious) stuff when certain things occur. Like several years ago I filled a book with fresh new prose due to a break-up from a long-term relationship. And in NYC it was just so easy for me to keep writing. New place, new surroundings, new routines. It made perfectly sense to put it down in words.
I have no problems in letting you read it. Not at all. But I'm not sure it would be the same translated - it will show :)
As for my book, I often had strange dreams, I could not understand and I decide to write scenes in a book based on the weird dreams. I remember I had a strange dream that showed a woman bathing with a man in a bathroom and the bathroom was lit by a neon light purple and from somewhere came the sound of the song "Shadow of Doubt" in the dream, it seemed a kind of trance. I started to modify some scenes and adapting my ideas, and starting writing. Sometimes I invest in something "nosense"
@artdecade1984 - I like the idea of writing ones dreams down no matter how weird or unrealistic they are. And from there on and to form them into a language and furthermore put them together in words so that they'll become the ingredient in a book is cool. I like that.
I only write prose based on automatic writings, observations, ideas and notes about things that pops into my mind. I lived in New York City for 4 months in 2008 and wrote a lot in that period. It was a good time.
@artdecade1984 - I do lots of different things. Range from musical performances to wood burnings and installations with fluorescent light. I did do many sound-performances in galleries on homebuild instruments some years ago. You can see more on my homepage (I'll mail you on that) - but it is still under construction though :)
I'm writing two books simultaneously. The first book is a fiction about a girl who felt uncomfortable with the strange way that people looked at her. This girl wore disguises such as wigs and other things to do revenge through physical violence and psychological and can not be recognized by the victims. In the second book I explain the early youth of the girl so the reader understands why she was violent. Johnny is the boyfriend of the girl. SY inspires me in the 2nd book and parts of the 1st.
@artdecade1984 - Cool, it sounds like a really nice plot really :) Where did you get the inspiration from besides the musical universe of SY? And when you get it published then I would like to order it ;)
This song became a fact. I'm writing a book and a character in the book is called Johnny, and I hear "Hey Joni" when I want some sort of inspiration to write the about Johnny.
@artdecade1984 - that's pretty cool. What kind of book is it? I too use SY for inspiration. I'm an artist, so I kind of need the music to keep me going :)
Hey Lennypearl! And thanks. "Instrumental Acoustic Interpretations" is a excellent title for this little 'project' but I'm not sure it actually can fit the title when I upload it :) And I feel the same way because I'm trying to find the most essentiel parts within a SY song and then combine both Lee and Thurstons pieces. It's such a fun challenge. I wanna see your homemade shirt - maybe I wanna buy one :)
Yay! New ones! I've always loved Lee songs :-) By the way, I was thinking that you should not call these "covers" but rather "instrumental acoustic interpretations" cause you've captured the sonic spirit in an unplugged way. Oh and I have the very same shirt (although it was homemade) :-)
Thanks a lot Phreakyphriday! - I was too very sceptic because of the clear difference between Lee and Thurstons role in this piece. But I tried to mix them as good as possible and only use the most essentiel parts. It worked out ok surprisingly.

What kind of art you specialize? Some videos looks like you're playing in a gallery.

Huh, you always surprise me with these acoustic covers. I never would have imagined it would work, but it does. I like it a lot.
