I was thinking of building one of these, but I have a couple of questions I need answered first:

1. I have some Valspar stain+sealer I was thinking of using to put on the guitar. Is that a good idea or no?

2. Exactly how much did you have to modify the guitar itself to get it to play well enough?

@billycat1965 Well I just put a shim in mine... Did you read those instructions I sent you? It explains how to check the neck angle, and a couple of different ways to change it.

hey ,i finally got my doubleneck guitar that i got from senoir on ebay working,did you have neck problems?how did you figure out the angle of the neck.thanks for any help you can give

hey man what paint did you use for the finish, just like krylon or is it real guitar finish in the aerosol cans from stewmac or something? im looking into making my own double-neck (bass on top, guitar on bottom) & i want a real nice, yet inexpensive finish on it

@harrybud89 thats guitar lacquer from stewmac, really good stuff btw. You could probably get a nice finish using some kind of regular paint, but i would recommend using a good sanding sealer that way when you wet sand it, the wood doesn't swell.

Who did you buy yours from, would you recommend him to me? I have always wanted to build a dual neck but I cant find any 12 string necks for any cheaper than getting a kit so i think that what I'm going to do.

I bought mine from a seller on ebay named senior, I would highly recommend him... The double neck in the video was missing the 12 string nut when i got it, so I contacted senior and he sent me a new one. I've bought 4 guitars from him and i've never had any real problems.

The problem with the neck angle seems to be fixed now btw.

I built one of those. In fact, anyone who got one any time recently and got instructions from the seller got instructions I wrote.

Same problem with the necks, and I, too, added a neck selector switch.

yea i never got any instructions, how did you fix the necks? did you use shims or did you re-route the neck pocket?

My buddy got one of those flying v double necks and there was no problem with the necks.

Thanks, ive been working on wiring it up and i think its 90% there. the only thing tho is when i turn the volume all the way down it doesn't kill it, everythings else works, i think : ) took me awhile tho

I bought the Jazz bass version, I just got it today.

I think I will use natural finish, Tung Oil. The alder is not that bad.
