lol Carville saying "I'm halfway for a draft" and then "young people are acutely aware of when they're being had, and have less tolerance for it".

Whichever party is the next to call for a draft (unless there is an extremely popular war effort) will lose the youth vote for 20 years.

But I agree esentially with what I think Carville was trying to say; young people would appreciate SOME kinf of call to action, whther its community service, political activism, etc.

He's 100% right. I don't want to be in the military either. But, is it really fair to pass the buck to the poor, largely minority 18-20 years olds to keep us safe from the Hitlers, Stalins, Mao Zedongs, Kim Jung Ils & Bin Ladens of the world? Study your history and you'll see that there are plenty of people (now and in the past) that would happily put you and your family in an oven or a concentration camp (if it wasn't for American military power).

The best way to have any effect on the youth is to get in touch with them. You, my friend, are so far from understanding today's youth that you'll never figure it out. There is not a glimmer of youth in your foggy eyes.
