hate to be a pedant, but this isn't cell shading, it's outlining. The difference is really quite simple. Think of it this way: It's cell SHADING. That is, it's shading like you tend to see in the cells for cartoons. You know how shading on cartoons tends to not be smooth but rather is bands? Yeah, that's cell shading. This isn't, this is outlining which is often used with cell shading but it is not it nor a part of it. Apparently there are a LOT of people who get the two confused.

About Alpha Texture - you can create it in Photoshop - it's a image with transparent alpha chanal (black) such as TGA.

And one secret in the movie - clik on the external side of the ball, before you choice the Texture Mapper.

That ladies and gentlemen was the "wrong" way to cell shade an object. :3

It's possible to cell shade an object with itself... Much easier, single prim instead of 2... I wont go on, I'm sure the author will figure it out and make another tutorial for it in the future.

It's awesome you are doing this though, a lot of people have problems with things like this, its nice to finally see someone helping them.
