  • I just heard about 3,000 of the most retarded explanations just by reading those comments. I think my IQ plummeted down at least 75%.

  • danny b andsiabdulie you fucks if you speek eng we speak eng and im not eng!you talk what you know and dont say!!you see something and dont prethink be4 you think to say some therminology to sound smart you vegetating sort of a human! pa da vam jebem mater v picko nareti hlapci!!

  • I started doing this and now I get motion sickness when I play video games. Do you reckon there's any link?

  • works

  • use your brain ....haha!!

  • Im trying this with my Mercedes smart key.

  • i just went oudside and tired this, it worked!! lol

  • Clarkson is essentially an antenna. He's grounded, taller/larger than the antenna on the remote, and since every person has a small electric charge, the antenna affect is created.

  • @Dannyb636 Interesting theory, but sadly incorrect. Clarkson has no grasp of basic physics (hence his terrible driving) let alone electromagnetic propagation. It is far more likely that it was simply rotation of the antenna through 90 degrees on the x-axis that provided improved range.

  • @4809gadget what on Earth are you on about, "90 degrees on the x-axis that provided improved range", gosh I am wondering what you know about Physics at all.

..and Clarkson is a superb driver!

  • @SirAbdulle I clearly know more about physics, specifically electronics and electromagnetic propagation than you, if you don't understand polarisation of electromagnetic waves (to put it simply). Oh and about the driving... Bring it on!.. I have 30 years experience in racing and police driving including escape & evasion and off-road. DAMN! I just fed the fecking troll!

  • @Dannyb636 Indeed, our bodies are a huge complex of electrical impulses sent to out limbs and muscles via our brain.

  • Jeremy, u rock...

  • Holy shit, it actually works on my suzuki swift!

  • works on my car ... i think its to do with the way you're holding the remote in relation to the car cuz i think the transmitter thingy is somewhere on the side of the remote and usually when you lock your car you're not holding it sideways ;D

  • 240p we meet it again -,-

  • it does work

  • If you hammer a nail into your head and put a wire from the KeyFob and wrap the other end around the nail then you will get an unbelievable range out of it. So long as Jesus Christ is not offended and you don't kill yourself in the process - anyone willing to try?

  • Dear Jeremy,

You've just turned your brain into a radio range extender :P LOL!

  • I've used my dog to lock my car from inside the house.

  • ههههههههههههههههه وش هالمخ

  • i tried this . it works

  • I have tried this and it works but the only problem is now i keep having the urge to drink gasoline and oil smoothies.

  • does anyone notice that when Jeremy puts the key to his head the cameraman walks to Jeremy's right side?!?

    :S

    tumbs up if you agree

  • @dutcheagle0312 so that viewers can see the fob and the car at the same time, no conspiracy here. move along, move along.

  • @TheWeepingCorpse OK Thanks! :P

  • thats because of the filming angle... the cameraman had to film both the car and the key at the same time and so he moves to the right to avoid having to zoom out. If they wanted to fake this... why not just give the real keys to someone standing outside the shot.

  • @aky7razvan oh... ok thanks!

  • does anyone notice that when Jeremy puts the key to his head the cameraman walks to Jeremy's right side?!?

    :S

  • It actually works! i used it since 2008.

  • your skull works as a reversed satellite. its near-parabolic shape redirects the waves and concentrates them, in turn creating a stronger signal

  • @alienein Reversed satellite?

    Parabolic shape?

My god man, how fat are you?

It works because your body acts like an antena for the RF wave.

It's the same thing when you touch the old "rabbit ears" style reception antena on top of your television.

You are essentialy using your body as the antena.

  • It works like this: your bones are great reflectors for all kinds of waves.. for example, they show up on yrays, while other materials dont reflect the x rays. by pointing it at your head your giving it the exact angle towards the car, making sure it doesnt miss the recepetor.

  • @applemaster965 erm.. I use this quite a lot (discreetly though, lol) and it works. Go ahead and try. Ive tested it many times. I dont give a shit if you dont believe me.

  • It works by converting the uncontious signals from the brain into the car lock signals.A car lock can work normal 40 y whereas brain signals=83 y

  • My favorite show haha.

  • it means Jeremy need to tune his brain

  • your brain is a giant antenna. We do this at the Lexus dealership i work at, except we use the panic button to find the car in the lot.

  • That will be the liquid in your body acting as an antenna. Military use trees to increase transmitter range. Find a tree, bang a nail in it, wrap the wire from your transceiver round the nail, and the whole tree acts as an antenna.

  • @MultiMastermagician

I just tried this with a hamm radio... ill be darned it works....

  • my mom saw this and couldnt believe it until she tried it

  • That will be the liquid in your body acting as an antenna. Military use trees to increase transmitter range. Find a tree, bang a nail in it, wrap the wire from your transceiver round the nail, and the whole tree acts as an antenna.

  • it uses your body as a big antena

    it also works with texts

  • your skull directs the signal i believe

  • why does the camera man have to be on his right everytime he does it from his head???

  • also works with mobile phones if you are stuck with a signal, had 0 bars in middle of nowhere, am on o2 which is bad connection anyway, but it to my head and i got 3 bars out of it.

  • what would posess the person who came up with that in the first place to try putting his central locking key on his head??

  • SCIENCE!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Aqwert76 Not likely infrared. Infrared systems were phased out around 95. It's likely RF, which is far superior. IR requires direct line of sight to the sensor.

  • @Aqwert76 Nonsense!

  • @Aqwert76 that has got to be the biggest load of shit i've EVER heard!

  • i knew this for a while been using it but i put it under my chin same effect though.

  • And if you stick it in your ass and squeez, it gets triple the range.

  • @Kalashnikov4Eva might try that

  • @Kalashnikov4Eva and if you put on a girl boobs and squeeze it,it get 4x the range

  • @ShinichiHatsune123 or a restrainning order

  • It's a transistor! The human cranium works as a transistor to amplify the signal.

  • @JeremyKasperson A transistor...? What qualifies as a transistor, only electronic switch with no moving parts? This is radio waves and not electronics, so I don't get you.

  • This is verry old! Funny to see!

  • I think everybody that has fiddled with a TV or radio antenna has learned the body gives better reception. The radio starts losing signal so you put your hand on the antenna and start to adjust it. You get the perfect signal, let go and step back. Suddenly the radio starts losing the signal again. So you go back and change it, but you can hear the reception getting better the closer you get and when you step back it gets worse. When you touch the antenna, you get the same clear reception.

  • from which episode is this clip?!

  • Works on my car and bike

  • yap it works

  • lmfaoo yeooo ima try this :P

  • ive tried it on my car omgggggggg

but i should put the remote close to my mouth!!

  • Your Head is all Metal inside with Speed written on it... metal just works as an antena...... HAHAHAHAHA

  • does anyone.......Clarkson or Hamster....remember holding a coat hanger on a tv?

  • I think he has a metal plate in his head.....

  • fake?

  • Explanation: it's all about height.

  • I've tried this and it really and truly works

  • the body connects the remote the ground so it acts as a ground plane connected to a your body than acts as a bigger antenna .

  • Comment removed

  • The position of the key in both test should be the same to verify the test.In the first case you hold the key forward to you so the most of the signal goes like this ((((((key))))))) means not directly to your car. The second case you hold the key parallel to you ,so the signal is vertical towards to your car means better signal, means more distance.

You got it?make the test by holding the key in same directions and then lets start thinking if its your brain...if yes maybe your a brainiac

  • its like they always say "Use Your Head"

  • The body becomes an antenna for the car keys, thus increasing the range of the signal. It's not unhealthy or anything, you can also try this out with your wireless internet connection etc.

  • @TheRealNici Not to mention thant you body is connected to the ground so it doubles the efficiency of the antenna.you're absolutly right.

  • have trouble with your wireless network connection? just put it up to your head and bam!!! you've doubled your range!! *warning may experence headaches due to pressing the wireless anntenna against your head too hard and eye strain due to awkward angle of viewing/closeness of the laptop screen.* lolz

  • That is entirely true. It works wonders on radio signals too. It has to do with the electromagnetic energy being emitted from your brain. It amplifies the signal.

  • I think this works for the same reason that you get better reception when you grab the antenna of a radio, you have a different antenna so different range,so simple.

  • oh my god it really did work for me thats fucking amazing

  • i dont think that's healthy.

  • @TheLzeppelin68 I think it really doesnt matter, if the original range is 40 yards, than that signal goes through your brain anyway :D

  • See my video above, it works from a great distance! :)

  • Lol my old car

  • hahahahahahahaahahaaaaa that is so weird and funny because it is like the brain is a big telephone pole that double everything. 0_0 omg this can solve the iphone 4 reception issue!!!!! 0_0 0_0 0_0...

  • yeah do that 100 times more and your brain will rot

  • my dad told me at his work they do this haha

  • Just solder a 10m wire to the key fob and you'll get like 5km!

  • I have actually done this before. I was in a parking lot with a bunch of my friends when I realized I didn't lock my car. I turned around and started pushing the button. My friends all laughed at me and said I was too far. So I put the key to my head, and on the first push, it locked. Needless to say my friends spent the next 15 minutes testing it and seeing exactly what the range was.

  • @hankwvu did the same thing, all my friends where like '' you cant do it, stop trying''

my face ''D:<'' *puts key to head, push, unlock* all friends where flabbergastered

  • Jeremy meat antena :D

  • I work as a lot attendant at a used car lot, and this does actually work. I havent the slightest idea why or how. but it does. it"s crazy.

  • @BBCWorldwide Your head is functioning as an element in an antenna. In the simple three element Yagi Uda antenna one element is one half of a wavelength away from the "Driven" element, between the source and the driven, called the "Director" another element behind the "driven" is the "reflector". These three elements make up a directional antenna. Given the frequency of the remote a human skull is behaving as one of these elements, depending on its orientation.

  • @RichardEllisxyz O - M - G....... :D

  • @RichardEllisxyz and now in english please :D

  • @RichardEllisxyz reflector imo

  • consolidated credit can go fuck themselves. fuck you ads by google!

  • It's caused by radio waves in your head that increase the range

  • i have tryed this and it works!

  • THIS DOES WORK!!!!

    HOW I DONT KNOW...

  • The same works with fm radios. Put your head near the radio and it gets better reception.

  • @samlakes HAHA

  • @samlakes yes. in fact, any part of your body. the radio gets better reception

  • Ok, so Jeremy is a car central locking remote control antenna.

  • One of the unique properties of a human being is that, under the right circumstances, our body acts like an antenna.

This works with wireless radios, you touch the antenna and the signal goes from fuzzy to clear.

Try it out, you'll see that its true.

  • I tried this and my neck works best. Sometimes when my friends cell phones have bad reception they put their phone on my neck and it increases reception! It really works.

  • @geeksquad2 hahahahahahahha that sounds so funny ROFL "hey man my cell has bad reception" , "here use my neck to amplify the signal!"

  • And Jeremy gets a Brain Tumor for Christmas

  • @JahaysusKahrist love your comment! lol

  • can some1 explain me how that works?

  • going outside to try this now.

  • @maytheh0rsebewithyou did it really work???

  • Could be forming a loop antenna, would be interesting to see if it still worked when he was side-on (facing away from the car)

  • Don't have to really put it at your head, i put it on my shoulder and it works also but the car's range is so good i can sit indoors and activate the locking system in the room about 15 feet away from the front door with three concrete walls between me and the car and then a further 10 feet outside to get to the car.

  • have anyone actually tried it before does it work?

  • @Desmonddd2002

yes, it does work, its very useful when you forget to lock your car and remember when youre too far away from it. i use it all the time. :)

  • @Desmonddd2002 ya it works. i did it yesterday

  • @Desmonddd2002 yup, holding it to your ribs works too! I tried it!

  • thats microwaves/!!! you can get a brain cancer by doing that!!!!

  • @boyboyboyification Uhm, no. It's not microwaves at all.

  • it's probebly a fake. when the camera goes behind him, they do something that make it work!.. i'm just saing.. it's fake.

  • @themisfitsfan96

Dude, it works. Try it. Seriously.... I jsut did it 10 minutes ago! :O

  • Why is the cameraguy moving each time when Jeremy tries to open it from further away ?? strange

  • @petrucci14

maybe to see if jeremy is really putting the thing in his head

  • @petrucci14

It's so you can see him press the alarm remote.

  • @petrucci14

Dramatic effect? I dunno, he's a camera guy.

  • WE WANT MORE TOP GEAR!

  • gr8!......now all of you who do not have a cable can now use your head to see tv!

  • which episode which season??

  • i love top gear but this is just stupid... everyone knows that your body act as an antenna!... i was 6 when i discovered it myself while tuning the radio and moving 2 feets just for it to stop working properly!

  • Well with my Jetta it really works! And if you holdt the key against your throat and press it goes even further than against the head^^

  • I did try this on our Merc (obviously while no one was looking to avoid embarrassment), but it didn't work.

Admittedly the key he used was the older plasticky version, but I doubt the new key is less effective. Maybe my head isn't as conductive as Jeremy's...

  • Fat head!

  • "what have I Done to my head" LOL!!

  • @bmwlove9 If I recall correctly, those who are electricians, or who study electricity at an amateur state as you are, they are generally those who fail to perform well enough in the exams which determine your future in terms of careers. If you are as arrogant as you seem, try to beat my VCE ENTER score of 99.85. I sincerely doubt you earnestly have what it takes to study at Melbourne Uni. I am merely articulating a candid approach here.

  • @ThePimz123 I have no clue what is wrong with you.. geek!

  • same reason why if u listen to a radio with ur hand on the antenna itll sound better.

  • Extra electric impulses from our brain? A sort of mind aura around our heads? Whatever the reason, this is very cool!

  • is not only against your head that works... if you put it on the chest is the same thing... your body works like an antena that boosts the range a litle further. I knew this since i was 5 lol my father teached me xD

  • @mysticdarkness2

THAT IS NOT HOW ANTENNAE WORK.

  • @kaz3kag3gaara lol ofcourse not xD but in this case it makes the same thing :) boosts de range a litle further....

  • @mysticdarkness2

I think the human body might work a bit like an amplifier in this. Not sure. Doesn't really make much sense. Why wouldn't it just happen when you're touching it with your fingers? Could it be that it's reacting to hair?

  • @kaz3kag3gaara mmmm i have nooo idea... its magic :P naaa im sure there is a perfectly good explanation for this, im gonna try to find out ;)

  • I would assume that since our bodies create their own energy spark to pump our hearts we act as a sort of mini-antenna. Fascinating.

  • That's brilliant!

  • jeremys car is beautiful a really nice merc

  • wow why did i read most of the trekkie arguement down there... im going to go cry now

  • its like standing close to your radio and when its tuned in it just wont give the sound of that channel its weird but its true

  • @sarsour1989 fackoff? seems to me that you're the one who needs to google alotta' stuff... looser

  • @alamrisa HAHhaha go away troll, try RL for a change ,its better then your grandma's basement!

  • @alamrisa "Look at me i want to be the last one to post cos i have nother better to do! =D!"

  • @alamrisa "Look i still got the last post!!" im soo cool!!

  • hahaha you know what i have that you guys dont thats even better than a phd? a girlfriend ahahahah fuckin nerds

  • @sarsour1989 ok mister know it all, why dont you try to explain all this radio waves thing... from the looks of it, i doubt u have the slightest idea.

  • GROUNDED

  • Well guys, as an electronical & electrical masters engineer, I can inform you all that the reason that this works is the frequency at which the remote fobs work is not high enough to pass through the human skull, so what happens is the waves are bounced off at all angles from the head PLUS the fob itself. so you're getting the normal fob range in addition to the reflected waves. Hope you can all sleep at night now.

  • @djmattwilson that doesnt make sense, how can reflected waves travel further than the original waves?! also, who said that a human skull can reflect radio wavees? what a load of BS

  • Please read my comment again. Come back when you have done so. It's possibly too hard for you to comprehend, if that's the case, please go and watch children's TV.

  • @djmattwilson what's with all the fancy talk? i got a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical scinces, not a MS in gizmos u fruit! u think you're the only one with an education? u counterdict urself u moron, YOU read what YOU wrote. "comprehend"< bah!

  • Either you're lying or English was certainly not part of your PhD. I can read what I wrote, I even double checked it because I thought I may have made a mistake but no, it is you who has clearly misread what I've written.

I'm not saying that I have a MEng to say I'm intelligent, but my studies were realted to this topic, signals and digital communications....

You really should read what I wrote again, you've replied to my comment ignoring what I stated.

  • @djmattwilson first of all, i'm not a native speaker, second of all radio waves lose a bit of power (theoretical) when colliding with any form of materia, thus, it's impossible for a reflected wave to have more energy (and thus travel further), also, a reflected wave from let say a spherical shape would never have some sort of formation that will enable it to travel further. we study electromagnative waves n' stuff. look it up mister capital letters.

  • OK, I will try once more, I said that the reflected waves travel in addition to the waves from the fob. This does in fact increase the range of the waves as they are still the same wavelength and boost the original. Are you also trying to mock me because my grammar is correct? I find it hard to believe that somebody with a PhD would be so annoyed at the useage of correct grammar. Your PhD may be a higher accolade than my MEng, but it does not mean that you are more intelligent. Take care.

  • @djmattwilson the reflected waves originated from the fob too, they lose a bit of energy as they collide, and lose formation too, and they'd have a slightely longer wavelength. long story short, that doesnt add up.

  • I see you finally understood what I wrote. You're now just talking shit. They would only collide when they are travelling in opposite directions. You clearly don't undertand how harmonics work if you think that the formation matters, it's just the frequency that matters as the waves lose amplitude constantly the further away from the fob they get. Why would reflecting waves alter the wavelength? Wow pal, just stop talking shit. Salam
