  • Do you pop your early's at all? When I do them I don't go very high but I seem to jump backwards, when I do scrape a bit I notice I get a little higher then normal

    It's shoulders first.... then just dedicate! I learned 'em by accident years ago by accidentally over-rotating a regular 180 air on masonite... it slid around when I landed and I was like "holy crap... this can be a 360!"

  • just fucked my ankle 5 minutes doing a bs 360 off a ledge.... its hardly even swollen but it hurts like no other. anyone think i should go to the hospital or should i just like it ride out? i know the hospital can be a huge waste of time and money

    What happens when you try them? Having trouble on te approach or the air itself?

    The one thing to kee in mind is to find a grab that is most comfortable to you... for me I can get more power out of a backside/melon grab, but a lot of my friends find that frontside grabs are more accommodating. Cheers!

  • that looks like it hurt i sprained my ankle too and my foot twisted just like that.

  • ur lucky u only got a sprain but it hurts more than a broken ankle... bronken ankles waste lots of money getting surgery and sprains could just heal without getting surgery

  • One thing though... breaks usually heal up better (unless they stretch the tendons like a sprain does too).

    Either way they hurt like hell! haha

  • Is that a debilitating injury? I've had knee surgery and broken bones before, not too familiar with what happens after you crack a growth plate, though. What's the deal with that man?

  • there is a small chance you will stop growing, only like 4% though. but no its not as bad as you might think im actually planning on snowboarding this winter to. when your 14-16 years old the growth plate is soft so its much worse when you are older. but broken bones suck ass either way lol

  • To get over the coping, you just need enough speed to clear the top, and you need to pull inside the ramp, since your speed will already put you up. The steeper the ramp is, the easier, as mellower ramps just launch you.

    Also, the more speed, the harder you need to pull it into the ramp.

  • Thanks for the props, bleemer! I honestly just have a fascination with early grabs... my initial intent when filming this was to try and do every little variation I could think of (before accidentally cutting my session short). I still love lip tricks and popping into tricks like the next guy, but there are a lot of possibilities w/them too. Stoked that people like Daewon and Koston are seen doing them... they're just too damned fun to avoid (personally). Roll forever!

  • Find a comfortable grab and pull away from the ramp. A little speed helps too.

  • I hate it when I do that. I want to make a trick cleaner, but I always end up hurting myself.

  • I just resprained the same ankle last Thursday... LAME. I mean, the pain part is just annoying, but knowing that you have to be off the board for a while sucks ass!

  • I know how you feel, I had the stomach flu a while ago, and it was only for three days, but as soon as I got back on my board, it felt weird and unnatural, and the whole time I was sick, I only thought "damn, I'm gonna have to work super hard to relearn all my tricks over again."

  • Usually once or twice a week... I work in BR, and lately it' too dark by the time I get home (so I do a lot of downtown BR skating).

    I tend to hit it on the weekends... I live just couple of blocks away from the park.

  • How long ago did you roll your ankle? I should have been off mine for about a month, but I had to skate a demo two weeks after this video (I had to wrap it with a few bandages, then put it in a splint, then buy some high-top shoes to keep it supported).

  • It did hurt, but I was hyped! The company I was getting flowed from flew me and some other fellas up to Boston, then we drove and demo'd in Burlington, Vermont. We skated hard, but I had my ankle bound up so it wouldn't move... skated hard, then stayed off of it when I flew back home!

  • Shit man ive had two sprained ankles for a year now theyre worse than breaks they never heal right

  • So true... both of my ankles are already made of eggshells. I've worn sports braces since I was about 18 (because of sprains), but now I also make sure to get mid or high top shoes. But yeah, sprains just always leave a permanent mark.
