Muscle does not weight more than fat. If you take a pound of muscle and a pound of fat. The fat will be bigger. I hate when I hear people say that crap. Makes no sense in kind of way. That why it takes forever to put on mass with muscle. It is lean. A 200 pound fat guy at 6 ft tall will look bigger than a 200lb muscle built guy at 6 ft tall.

It's a good MOS to consider.

@hiltonsmith90 well i went to jackson so things may be different. the only personal time you get is sunday, and chow 3x's a day! no one had a nose bleed when i went. It will be hard but at the end you will be like dang that wasnt bad!

@JamelPeters no earrings unless you are in class A that is the dress uniform and it has to be a certain size. you can have long hair, but it will have to be pinned up in a neat bun, or it has to be secured to ur head no pony tails!
Recently I am confronted with rape in the military from among their own ranks. Staggering statistics show that 1/3 of women report rape while that at least doubles due to the nature of military culture and fear. My fiancé is deployed to Afghanistan. I wonder if women would join the military if they knew there was maybe a 70% chance they would be raped with no retaliation. If women in the military report rape they lose. No justice, no compensation, they lose credibility and maybe their job.

For cornrows they must be straight back like alan iverson. in the army regs thats the way it must be. you can also opt to get twists those arent hard to do. there are also not many black hair products there. depending on ur drill ssgt they will allow you to get a perm towards graduation no other time thought. and no wearing of makeup either.make sure you have plenty of body powder too helps with the smells. 55 females in a bay doesn't smell good after pt. HAha
the time. as far as the short thing. im 4'10 and got thru just fine. u might get picked on some but its all in good fun.yes hair is a big thing in basic. i suggest the donut because it shouldn't pull ur hair all that bad leaving bumps.u will be taking ur hat on and off alot.i got the front of my hair twisted or braided. in the morning u will only have an hour to get dressed shower if needed do ur hair and do bay cleaning duties. one thing i must say is do not be a profile rider. you will get made fun of and ur drill ssgts will have a hay day with you. what i mean by that is if u don't HAVE to go to sick call don't go. if ur are always on a profile and can;t train thats not good.try to eat as healthy as possible as for relaxin jackson. it depends on what company and battalion your in. in mine they set on trainig we didnt get smoked alot. but they also said how are you going to get someone to pay attention smokin them all

I have a question in basic training do you have to try and make it up those wooden stilts thing like you know umm.....there like square boxes and you have to learn how to life yourself up and over without a ladder or rope. Im guessing if so that you team would help..........im entering in basic soon so i was just wondering.

@justbeingme71 for hair i would just perm it right before I go, and then where it pinned up or pulled back during basic! Sometime at the end of basic the drills will let you go to the hair dresser for basic, but dont count on it!
what happens if you get to basic training and you arent able to do push ups what happens? i have been practing and still arent able to get past two, if there an alternative to do instead?

@MakeupMelody22810 You will be a wife but most def not a housewife, lol and you will be able to raise your family, but you know now a days we are deploying and you may spend time away from your family. Even without deployments you we be doing training sometimes.
@drharris18 when I went, i had to braids and they made me take them out! I think it depends on your drill. But I know they want you to get the right size for your head gear, so it just all depends!
@drharris18 -yes you can have your hair in braids but, I would not suggest it. If there is someone there that can braid get them to braid ur hair. If you are set on getting braids make sure you do take care of them. Because they made a couple girls cut their braids when they got there. DO NOT where tracks. You will be wearing a ACH or helmet so make sure u can get your hair into that. Put your hair into a donut. If you have a female drill sergeant do not feel scared to ask.

@XxbeouwulfxX I went through basic in "99" so things were different before and after the Army changes everyday. Also I was being very brief. I think we only get 9 mins for vids, so I was trying to sum it up!
All i have to add is Basic is 60% mental 20% phisical 15% learning 3% eating and hydration 2% sleep. Lots of mental games. You just gotta roll with the punches. Horror story: first day into actual basic and you get off the buss with your 2 duffel bags of training gear and they line you up to "introduce" them selfs.... this one guy after about 20 min off the bus doing duffel bag drills and getting yelled at and this older guy (mid to late 20's) tells the DS that has to go pee. well he peedhimself
Also for those looking for asvab study... I raised my score 20 points by studying! lmao! At military.com they have all sorts of pretests. And then I used a book from my local library.

@TribeofShabazz Are you talking about the aqft?(what people call the "asvab score") because when you take the test you get 11 scores, however the score you call the "asvab score" has a max score of 100, and they never waive points because this test tell them if you are smart enough for a job you want. also, officers do not take the asvab, at least not if they are going from ROTC or west point, only officers who come from OCS where they are already enlisted take the asvab.
@Crich775 I just called & asked him. He said the GT score needs to be at least 110. Do they waive points so he can go from 105 to 110 on the GT?? P.E.A.C.E.

you've must not been in the army recently everything that you said is totally different from what you said. you do not wake up early in the morning, the first week is reception week. you will be processed pretty much that whole week your proccess you eat and continue to get proccess and marching. once you go down range your place with a platoon and their another week of reception. If you going to tell it tell it right !!!!

And it depends on your MOS on how long AIT will be. For me, it was 13 weeks long for 92A and 92Y (Ft. Lee, Va.).

one thing i must say is do not be a profile rider. you will get made fun of and ur drill ssgts will have a hay day with you. what i mean by that is if u don't HAVE to go to sick call don't go. if ur are always on a profile and can;t train thats not good.try to eat as healthy as possible as for relaxin jackson. it depends on what company and battalion your in. in mine they set on trainig we didnt get smoked alot. but they also said how are you going to get someone to pay attention smokin them all

i want to join but im really nervous about "fucking up" like not doing something rite or failing the team. also i have acne on my face its clearing up, but i have it on my back and shoulders and im really sensitive about my body and thats like a HUGE moral support crusher

I have a question in basic training do you have to try and make it up those wooden stilts thing like you know umm.....there like square boxes and you have to learn how to life yourself up and over without a ladder or rope. Im guessing if so that you team would help..........im entering in basic soon so i was just wondering.

I am seriously concerning going into the Army Reserve! I have spoke with a recuiter and studing for the ASVAB. During basic training, our hair....what is the best solution for the 10 weeks of basic? My hair is 6 - 8 inches long..what should i do?

@justbeingme71 for hair i would just perm it right before I go, and then where it pinned up or pulled back during basic! Sometime at the end of basic the drills will let you go to the hair dresser for basic, but dont count on it!

@drharris18 when I went, i had to braids and they made me take them out! I think it depends on your drill. But I know they want you to get the right size for your head gear, so it just all depends!

@drharris18 -yes you can have your hair in braids but, I would not suggest it. If there is someone there that can braid get them to braid ur hair. If you are set on getting braids make sure you do take care of them. Because they made a couple girls cut their braids when they got there. DO NOT where tracks. You will be wearing a ACH or helmet so make sure u can get your hair into that. Put your hair into a donut. If you have a female drill sergeant do not feel scared to ask.

All i have to add is Basic is 60% mental 20% phisical 15% learning 3% eating and hydration 2% sleep. Lots of mental games. You just gotta roll with the punches. Horror story: first day into actual basic and you get off the buss with your 2 duffel bags of training gear and they line you up to "introduce" them selfs.... this one guy after about 20 min off the bus doing duffel bag drills and getting yelled at and this older guy (mid to late 20's) tells the DS that has to go pee. well he peedhimself

@TribeofShabazz Are you talking about the aqft?(what people call the "asvab score") because when you take the test you get 11 scores, however the score you call the "asvab score" has a max score of 100, and they never waive points because this test tell them if you are smart enough for a job you want. also, officers do not take the asvab, at least not if they are going from ROTC or west point, only officers who come from OCS where they are already enlisted take the asvab.

MsKay i'm a recruiter wit the army and i would like 2 know if u could tell civilians how the army is in ur opinion. from time off, food, work, pay, deployments (do all soldiers fight), pt, sgt's yellin at u, if u can go 2 school, living conditions, and do girls hav 2 shave off their hair. u know an overall life style of the army. i dont want u 2 tell anyone 2 join but how the army has been 2 u and do u think it was worth joinin. if u do decde 2 do this i will b showin the vid in high schools.

you've must not been in the army recently everything that you said is totally different from what you said. you do not wake up early in the morning, the first week is reception week. you will be processed pretty much that whole week your proccess you eat and continue to get proccess and marching. once you go down range your place with a platoon and their another week of reception. If you going to tell it tell it right !!!!
