All star Superman is probably the greatest Superman comic ever written. I enjoyed Geoff John's run on Action comics and Jeph Loeb's Superman for all seasons. Check those out if you enjoyed All Star. The 90's Superman cartoon is pretty damned good too!
All star superman was without a doubt, for me atleast, one of the best SUPERHERO comics I have ever red
Where some people might say that Watchmen or DTKR is the greatest superhero graphic novels I would have to dissagree because what those comics do is deconstruct the whole superhero myth, and drag these extraordinary heroes down to our level, where as All star Superman highlights the basics of what a superhero is all about while it still explores far out concepts and morality
I actually always liked Superman as a character I just feel the stories never fit him. Whereas Allstar Superman is perfect for the character because it's more of a science fiction story and I think he works better in that realm than the superhero realm because he's too powerful for it. We need the loftier concepts of Allstar to challenge the character accurately. As far as Supes in other medium, Superman : The Movie and Superman the Animated Adventures.
