The word hipster is way overused these days. It seems to mean anyone in their teens, 20s, or 30s, who doesn't listen to the top 40 chart or complain and expect the top 40 chart to cater to them. I can remember when I was in my teens in the 90s and early 00s, the word "mainstream" was used as an insult, now the way of thinking has gone the opposite way.

In my school, only about 20% of teens in 99-00 liked mainstream. But I see what you're saying.
