  • Simply flawless. Barbra was one of a kind, she truly was!

  • HOLY MOLY. I'm Fourteen. And all i can think of right now is SHE IS.........

    altruistic,amazing,ambitious,appreciative,confident,excellent,extraordinary,exultant,fabulous,focused,magnificent,majestic,righteous,sincere,sparkling,strong,stylish,successful,swell,unequivocal, unforgettable,unique,warm,youthful MASTER PEICE

  • She is gorgeous... and what a voice. Nobody even comes close to her and Judy.

  • "Whats the differnce if i say i'll go away."

Well it would be the end.??

  • @blueeyes61553 You're ignoring half of the lyric. It's "What's the difference if I say 'I'll go away' when I know I'll be back on my knees some day?"

So basically..what's the point in threatening to leave when I know I'll always come back. No matter what he has done or will do to her, she loves him so much that she just can't live without him. It's tragically beautiful.

  • @carr0760

    WAT EVS

  • I Love Barbra Streisand More then anything.

  • I love her high pitch when she sang the part, "Alright!" <3

  • as judy garland would say, the last of the great belters. major league talent.

  • two women hav redefined beauty, Audrey Hepburn and Barbra Streisand. Ms. Streisand you are the most amazing woman in the world and i will always love you and Whitney Houston, the last true divas.

  • Anyone who doubts this woman's talent needs to watch this. There is NO singer who has ever moved me to tears that way she does. Thanks for posting!

  • Never. Anyone. Ever.

  • powerfully elegent. a true talent. and yes im choking up...

  • Funny Girl is LEGEND!

  • I love that she sang this so differently than in the movie. She is a truly fine jazz artist, rarely recognized for how damn MUSICAL she is. What an improviser!

  • fanny brice was wonderful but I have to say that I prefer barbra :/

  • Why didn't I tell him I loved soon enough... That song remembers me of him.

  • Truly and utterly amazing. She has a great voice and I especially love the way she sings this song in Funny Girl. It just gives me goosebumps.

  • she's hot.what a range and power.

  • Que belleza ¡It´s very beauty! desde siempre fue mi cantante favorita.

  • This just doesn't get any better.

  • This song will always give me the chills. Barbra is perfection.

  • ou how much do i love her voice?!?!?!?!?! i cant express it with words!!!

  • I don't care what anyone says...She is gorgeous

  • Seriously... she could have a face like a toad and it wouldn't make that song any less amazing. Barbra's probably the only person out who is BEAUTIFUL but doesn't rely on her looks for success.

  • Perfect example (and perfect description, doveskylark) of "perfection." Barbra is a star, planet, an entity all her own. No one can touch her. Listen and learn, Gleeks.

  • Barbra - you are just amazing. Love this song so much and your performance is faultless. Total genuis

  • I hope Barbra reads these posts sometime because she deserves to know how special she is. I love these posts. This voice and this talent are a gift from God.

  • barbara is amazing I love funny girl..and this song always get me...how she sing it..and lyrics are realy touching..gees stupid hormones!

  • NOBODY can top Barbra. I am 61 years old, heard them all, and Streisand is the GREATEST! All this crap on American Idol could NEVER surpass this magnificent talent.

  • @gentelc So should music stop being produced because no one will surpass her?

  • i love babs. i think she's a better singer than mariah carey. and that's a LOT coming fomr me folks. look at my profile and page. it tells all. hahahah i meant better singer emotionally, expressivlly, and musically. yep her and ella F. i think are the only two betta singers thn mariah. vocally mariah got them but those woman take singing to a whole nother level:)

  • sugoi

  • An American treasure

  • Who... i mean who cannot like this song? it's absolute perfection in every way!

  • She is amazing. I wish she could live forevermore!

  • SIMPLY PERFECT.

  • She is a - mazing!

  • With her 2009 album, Love Is the Answer, she became the only artist to achieve number-one albums in five consecutive decades

  • When Barbra goes...it finished. Music will cease to exist.

  • @jamesperretta PREACH TO THE CHOIR! lol

  • One of the original Queens!

  • How can you not love this woman? Beautiful!

  • Greatest singer of all-time!

  • eleganza!!!! e la sua eleganza passa anche attraverso la sua voce....................

  • love this song, my man is my love and wait for him to come back. pain still here,

  • perfection!!

  • Perfection, period!!

  • Beautiful song, Barbra is in top form. Love you Babs!

  • Legendary, period!!

  • Why are 'web'... folks so 'all or nothing'....Streisand is wonderful, yes, but Garland in full tilt is quite majestic too. As I'm sure Barbra herself would be the first to say!!!

  • i agree with that statement. Streisand has a lot of respect for Garland. Why do you think she sings "The Man that Got Away" ?

  • i agree. besides, what's with the comparison anyway? they're so different and they're both legends for different reasons. it's like comparing Michelangelo to Rembrandt... like, wtf. they respected each other and were in awe of each other, we should just do the same.

  • That 'all or nothing' attitude you refer to is the result of ignorance and/or immaturity at any age. In fact, Garland and Streisand performed together on TV and made history. Comparisons are idiotic.

Who's better Mozart or Beethoven? Miles or Dizzy? Heifetz or Stern? Goodman or Fountain?

Those debates are crazy. At this level, artists must be evaluated with standards they themselves create.

  • I believe that Barbra Streisand can sing better than Judy Garland.

  • @70sbaby80schild321

Both Barbra and Judy are great stars in their own rights, I love them both. I love Judy a bit more than Barbra though, Judy has this heart warming quality that makes you so happy. Barbra seems distant at times and kinda cold... Still I love them both! :D

  • With all due respect to her and her legacy Judy Garland couldn't carry Barbra's girdle.

Only Homosexuals talk about Judy anymore, Streisand makes conseravtives cry.

  • Hahahahaha! With all due respect to you too homosexuals talk about Barbra as much as they do about Judy! In fact gay men were Barbra's original and strongest supporters. She's always stood by us, especially when she found out her son is gay :)

  • Did I say anything negative about Homosexuals?

I never said that Barbra's fan base didn't include the Gay Community.

My point was that Judy nowadays is usually only referenced by Homosexuals where as Barbra is also much more of an Icon across the board.

Do you know how mcuh crap I've taken from Homophopes who calim I'm gay because I'm such a Streisand fan? lol.

  • Lol aww, that's sucks :(

I do agree though that Judy has become a Gay Saint. In fact she is deified in my religion (Ecclesia Antinoi) :P.

Barbra has millions of fans. Men, women, gay straight. I know that. I saw her on Oprah and people were crying when she sang :). It was sweet. Barbra has a beautiful voice and man can she belt! She's a great actress and singer and I adore her. I'm glad you do too :). What your favourite Barbra movie? Mine so far is "Funny Lady". She sings great songs :)

  • Let me apologize for the Judy couldn't carry Barbra's girdle comment.

i meant it more as a compliment to Barbra than an insult to Judy.

I do like Judy and her daughter Liza as well, esprcially when Liza was really young and appeared on Judy's show.

My favorite Streisand movie is What's up Doc? becasue she is so sexy with the hat on and at teh end with that long hair on the piano, then whe strats singing "As time goes by" and it's pure magic.

The look and the voice and those eyes, lol.

  • Apology accepted.

I adore Liza ^_^. She's one of my idols, i'm collecting all of her concerts on DVD.

My top four idols, in order, are Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli & Barbra Streisand. I worship them all.

I saw a clip from "What's Up Doc?" on youtube. It looks really good. Barbra is so funny! It's the scene where she's in the bathtub and Ryan O'Neal is taking off his clothes and notices she's in there and then his wife/gf comes in and the room burns down lol.

    Hilarious

  • And the scene you described, where she sings "As Time Goes By" on the piano is magickal. She was really beautiful back then :)

Also, I meant my favourite Barbra movie is "Funny Girl" not "Funny Lady". I haven't seen "Funny Lady" yet.

  • @AntinousIsGod1 funny lady wasn't very good. i mean barbra was but it just wasnt' a good movie. it was very fictionalized and made the real fanny brice look bad. she is mean and bratty in funny lady. i wouldn't recomend it.

  • @stardusth2o This song is from Funny girl, not funny lady!

And it was a musical so more like enternaiment. This song wasn't in the musical, just ine the movie. It was a french song.

I thing the filmewas great and of course it was fictionnlized !

    I recommand!

  • @lombairedorsale Ummm, I'm very aware that this is from Funny Girl. I was not speaking to you so you can't just come into the conversation thinking you know what you're talking about! I know it wasn't in the play too! I'm not an idiot who goes around shouting off sstuff i don't even know about (that's you!)! But Fanny Brice did sing this song! Oh and please make sure you know how to spell before you post another comment!

  • Comment removed

  • @stardusth2o oh I didn't want to offend anybody, I re-read my comment and I didn't insult anybody!!!

I am french so that is perheapps the reason I make faults, if it what you mean by how to spell!

Yes I know Fanny brice did sing this song

Don't be so nerveous, is is just about Barbra Streisand.

    Freindly

    Benoit

  • @stardusth2o oh and excuse me again, I didn't know how I didn't seethat you wrotte Funny lady.

    I apologise

  • @lombairedorsale That's ok. Sorry if I over-did it. I apologize too. I guess we both made mistakes. Let's just settle at the fact we get to both enjoy such an amazing singer as Barbra. :)

  • No words can describe how amazing her voice is. So controlled. Stunning!!!!

  • by 2:00 i'm putty in her hands...her voice kills me..

    what a STAR!

  • this song to me is just amazing =]

  • abovvvvvvv. aboveeee:)

  • Barbra Streisand is certainly the Great Genious of the 2O th century, along with the wonderful Judy Garland,

the two of them were extremely gifted and extraordinary talents: *the only thing we can think of them: it's their chemistrry and their mutual respect for each other

God bless the two of them !

    Patricia

  • I agree for me it's Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland as the greatest! I love Patsy Cline's voice too but for all around entertainer you can't beat Babs and Judy.

  • this is one of the most powerful songs I have ever heard. She is one of the most talented and beautiful true singers that I will ever see, and she has impacted so many lives.

  • HE IS MY MAN AND ONLY MY MAN!

    Love you sweetie

  • love you babs

  • PERFECT.YEP.

  • Very few things in life are perfect. This is perfect. Stunningly perfection. She has complete control over her voice. Legendary.

  • God Bless You!!!! You hit the proverbial nail on the head. the first time I saw this I was literally speachless!!! Can you imagine seeing that on broadcast tv oh so many years ago?

  • God bless you, too. Speaking of blessings, don't you think Streisand's voice is a blessing from God? I wish I could I have seen this when it first aired. You know, when I think of the 60's I usually wish I could have seen the Doors, Hendrix, the Grateful Dead, Janis. But Barbra is just as representative of the 60's as the rockers. I'm a true-blue rock fan at heart, but what I find myself listening to these days is Streisand. I also love "He Touched Me" from the Central Park concert.

  • I love this version of My Man!!

  • She is fabulous. end of story.

  • Now talk amongst yourselves......It's BARBRA!

I am 25 years younga...What a voice. The only otha great singa, who MIGHT be as good or even betta is ELLA FITZGERALD! A Perfect Voice.

But, I love My Man by Barbra!

I'm all choked up....Go on without me.....

  • omg! I just watched her do this song in a 1994 vid! it funny to see her young! she's so cute! I LOVE YOU BARBRA!
