Open net-pen farming is not perfect, either is farming carrots in open fields. Salmon farming is the solution to the problem created by a century of commercial fishing and decades of "salmon enhancement" or ocean ranching. The solution is to farm salmon instead of hunting them down, just like the solution for gathering wild carrots til they were all gone. Growing fish on land creates bigger problkems than the non issues it solves. Save the wild, eat only farmed food.Don is a liar.

Don Staniford is a loser. He lacks basic knowledge and understanding of biology and fisheries. He is all balls and no brains. He wants us to save wild salmon by eating them. Of course we have to farm. every dire prediction he has ever made has failed to materialize.

@Farmsalmon4ever There are severe problems with the way in which these Norwegian companies run salmon farms which has an adverse effect on wildlife, especially wild salmon. Feeding the world is important but it needs to be done in a way that does not harm other species or cause further environmental issues. Wild salmon stocks are depleted in many places now thanks to the way salmon farms operate. All I would like to see is salmon farms based inland, away from wild salmon.
