When women did there hair in the past it was a part of the routine. Nowadays we aas women can't find a half hour to moisturize their hair. This style is so beautiful. The Root booster does work !! I agree.
You can act, you can dance, you can model, you're a make-up artist, AND you can do hair. Is there anything you SUCK at Koren? :P I love this. Gorgeous.
hey! nice video! a quick question - ive tried spraying hairspray before using the curling iron and the heat just makes the hairspray stick to the itron and get goopy- could it have been the brand of hairspray? or should i let it set a bit before using the curling iron?
you know you can achieve that look much better placing rollers vertically across the head alternating small to large rollers, the wave is much more pronounced and authentic looking
stop saying this doesn't look like Veronica Lake. Jessica isn't her and this look is just a look. inspired by that women, that time, it is classic and it is a Peek-a-boo, so don't complain and make it better if you can!
omg....this was really dissapointing after watching all those 8 minutes. the hair turned out so flat. i'm really suprised you didn't brush the hair out. you should have used a slightly smaller curling iron and held it for longer and then brushed it out and set the wave pattern.
Thanks for the video. The only problem I had with this was the hair spray, and the big pin curls. I always thought to achieve the soft but bouncy waves was to use a not-so-strong hold hairspray, and for hair like your model, you would have to use tighter pin curls or sleep with them over night since it's harder for straight hair to hold curls. But anyway, I like watching because it gave a good visual on what exactly to do :)
Her makeup looks great, but the waves are way too loose. If you don't have that wave kissing the cheekbone, it isn't Veronica Lake.
In my experience, you would either need to do tighter pincurls, or use hot rollers. Even though hot rollers are really ungainly, they're usually the best was to approach retro looks like this one. Also, this is one of the only styles in which you can brush after you curl, since the waves are meant to be soft and ethereal.
hey senses, for layered hair its best to spray the strips first with hairspray or setting spray, then curl with your iron. This way the layer with cluster together. Make sure to pin the curls after using the iron so that the heat works the curls further.
How dare people judge another person negatively?! Grow up! Instead of commenting about a person's right to choose who they love, look on improving yourself. EnKore, you have an amazing talent! I can't wait to try this look out =) I have always loved the retro hairstyles but never knew how to begin to do them until now =) Thnx!
very beautiful! i love how quick and easy it looks. i've gotta try this... and nope, i still haven't made it to the MAC store on union. i can't believe you beat me to it! -gezebel
All your tutorials are great, but this one is my favorite yet. I love retro hairstyles but have trouble working backwards from a photo- this was SO helpful. Thanks!
Do they still teach finger waves ? I remember my teacher could do finger waves with a pencil she was so good at them. I never did get the hang of it. They were no longer on the pratical when I took mine back in the 80's. So many years ago...lol
Oh, my goodness, Enkore!!! I was just wishing for a hair demo earlier when I saw her hair pincurled in those earlier videos!! This is one of my favorite hairdos of all time, and I was wondering how to do it without rollersetting. Thank you so much!!

I think you should experiment with your pin curls a little more... and use hairspray as a final touch, rather than "the main ingredient".
Keep up the good work :)

Hey! I have a couple questions.
I have a bigger curling iron...will it still work?
And my hair is very layered...will this hairstyle still work for me?
I hope so...I really would like to try this!
