  • Although he puts his cigarette down and then it cuts to him with it back in his mouth, this isn;t an editing error... oh no,. he has spotted a movement out of the corner of his eye and has suddenly put the cig back in his mouth at the speed of light !,( just in case he has to whip out the Walther PPK from his shoulder holster)..... but no it's ok! false alarm, and so back to the game with miss trentemoller

  • the actress is the only actress to be in 2 bond films

  • @manchesterbullion Unless you count Judi Dench (M), and Lois Maxwell, Caroline Bliss, and Samantha Bond who all played Moneypenny in more than one film.

  • @vorishenko ...yes you are correct.i meant that he slept with..did he sleep with the others?

  • @manchesterbullion ..oh! judi dench i know he did not.

  • Sean Connery is a legend among legends.

  • That motherfucker could brandish a cig like no other man alive.

  • It is said that Ian Fleming originally hated the prospect of Sean Connery playing the British spy he created, but after seeing just once scene he began writing subsequent Bond sequels with Connery in mind!

He commands a huge presence, something "heroes" of late simply do not have...

  • And here I was thinking it was going to be "Suck it, Trebek."

  • Sean Connery was one handsome mothercocker. and im not gay btw...

  • "The name is Picasso... Pablito Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Mártir Patricio Ruiz y Picasso."

  • For those who wonders what he smokes its Chesterfield as mentioned in the novel

  • @BarkerFern2343 I bought your product and recieved you, naked, in a cake.

  • neuf pour le monsier

  • Not to put down the other actors who have played the part, but this moment defined Bond, and Connery simply took full ownership of the role. Try to imagine anyone else here, including those who were considered, but unchosen, and you'll know exactly what I mean.

  • @CaptainAndyman true enough. True enough...

  • Brilliant scene - but awful continuity! He has the cigarette in his mouth, next shot he takes it out with his left hand, next shot it's in his mouth again and he grabs it with his right hand, then it's in his left hand - sorry to be pedantic, but being the geek I am, I found it funny!

  • God, just the way connery says that line, it's so full of character.

The way he moves his mouth in this scene almost reminds me of the animation for a disney movie.

  • He looks like jack far eastenders here. Ha he wishes

  • Daniel Craig ain't got nothing on Sean!!!

  • Bond, Jameshh Bond

  • I just realised, it's actually the girl, Sylvia Trench, who's starting all this.. he wants to know her name, and she says: "Trench. Sylvia Trench", then he simply responds in the same fashion.. "Bond. James Bond."

  • S.T. Dupont lighter... great...

  • Sean Connery will always be the best!

  • @Laporisduvelay Oh yes, nobody will ever beat Sean

  • Sean Connery is Ian Fleming's James Bond 007 in Dr No (1962).

Sylvia Trench (portrayed by Enuice Gayson) made the iconic dialogue.

  • @robogarda yep I pissed my self wif laughter , lightened up me day

  • oh he is so damn sexy sean connery

  • 0:38 Sean is so epic he puts the cigarette in his mouth faster than you can say Chuck Norris.

    Truly all that is man.

  • Sylvia trench sure can pull up that eyebrow...

  • Thye coolest man on the planet! Sylvia Trench can't resist him, or any woman for that matter!

  • Sean was a handsome devil! Lol

  • @holla06 the keyword is "was"

  • Anyone else notice he puts he cigarette down and suddenly its in hes lips

  • Ricardo, Ricky Ricardo

  • I really enjoy how Connery is so nonchalant with his "Bond" reply here, though he never looses his cool exterior.

He has the demeanour of a panther ready to pounce, whether it be action orientated, battle of wits or engaging in a war of words.

  • what is with her eyebrows?

  • definition of cool.

  • bond, James bond

  • oh my god. it doesn't get sexier than this.

  • the absolutely best introduction of james bond

  • He's so fucking cool!!!

  • SEXY AS HELL!!!

  • He wanted it to come off as casual, suave and maybe not intimidating as good spy should not call attention, but the snakey tune underlines that it came as dangerous as a karate chop to the temple and... to her groin line.

  • Whenever I say my name there's music playing like that in the background. It creeps people out sometimes.

  • Bond did her, and the whole filming crew after this scene.

  • jesus christ i wanna fuck him and i'm a straight male, that's some damn sex appeal right there

  • @gurra12345 too darn right, mate :)

  • -What is your name?

    - well he shertainly knows how twishtt tongues

  • @ssyphoniss That is one of the funniest comments I've seen on YouTube. Thanks.

  • @ssyphoniss lol

  • This scene was gangster, the way Connery delivers the line and how the music started to play, perfection.

  • The acting here is brilliant, Connery combines subtlety with devilish charm to produce a classic scene in film history. The best bond in my opinion

  • I'm sorry, I know it's been about 50 years, but of all the Bond girls in all the films she's the one. I mean, HOT. Prrr. Rowr.

I'm sorry, just felt it needed to be said.

  • Connery was BY FAR the best Bond there ever was or ever will be. People who dispute that simply do not understand what the character is supposed to be all about.

  • He proves here that smoking is cool.

  • I think this was the only movie were he says the line. Pierce Brosnan said it every movie he made--even Mrs. Doubtfire.

  • I moustache you a question, but I'm shaving it for later.

  • @TheTurbinator People dont realise that your comment is excellent and they must say it to understand it. Well done.

  • @TheTurbinator TopLad.

  • Times sure have changed. You'd never see a casino like that any more.

  • the definition of cool!

  • Sean Connery and Roger Moore were the best bond charackters

  • yes he was the best bond.

    Danial Craig is a sissy.

  • Classic line :)

  • I'm still cant wait to play Bacarrat in a tux.

  • ♦ ♥ ♣ ♥ ♣ ♦

  • So his first line was "I admire your courage, Miss Er?"

  • bad matched action, way to fuck up his first scene

  • And he has been classy as ever since that day.

  • 0:39 cigar is in his handby the table. 0:40 cigar is back in his mouth. Next frame its back at the table again.

  • @700gsteak in whose hand you fucking idiot

  • @2dlamb What do you think fuckwit. Obviously not yours when yours is always on the gearstick.

  • It's funny when the woman looks at him like she owns him, but then he plays along and he's like "Yesshhh, of course.. like hell". Epic.

  • my fucking god..that intro was epic!

  • the music comes in at the perfect time. so kush

  • Where the fuck does James Bond get all this gambling money from?

  • @john3000931 MI-6.

  • the name bond james bond, liscened to thrill and sleep with every woman possible but never fall in love, ohhh momma

  • The only human on the planet that can make smoking look cool!!

  • Since people who know a lot of Bond seem to be watching this where did the Vodka Martini Shaken not stirred come from? I don't remember it being in the books but I could be wrong

  • does bond say " i admire your courage" bc then thats his first line

  • Love this bit of Bond trivia: that the most famous, recurring line in all the Bond films over 40 years was actually inspiired by "Trench, Sylvia Trench." What if she had said, "I'm Miss Trench?" (no "Ms." title back then). Would the recurring Bond line have been, "I'm Mr. Bond?"

  • Bond, VagaBond

  • "Very first Bond film" could not be more incorrect. EVERYONE knows that the first Bond film was 1954's "Casino Royale" starring Barry Nelson - eight years before Sean Connery.

  • @SecretTimeWarp 1954's Casino Royale wasnt official rofl

  • @Nippeli92 It's still the very first Bond film, isn't it? And anyway... it is now, because EON Productions bought the rights to it. "ROFL".

  • @SecretTimeWarp Where I agree with you that it is technically (techncially!) the first film to feature teh characters of james Bond, it is about as official as Never say Never Again. Casino Royale of course being a parody much like Never say n ever again. In my mind they are both bond related films but aren't part of mainstream continuity so I can see where he's coming from.

  • @sylictic What? Never Say Never Again wasn't a parody in the least.... it was meant as a legit Sean Connery Bond movie. The guy who claimed to have co-written the "Thunderball" novel held the legal rights to it, so he filmed it and put it out to compete with "Octopussy", which was EON's Bond movie at the time.

  • @SecretTimeWarp You can quote to me the mass amoutns of legalities and ... Other... stuff that I actually do care about but has nothing to do with my point as much as you like... Like I said, it has nothing to do with my point. The film itself is quite light-hearted and where as it isn't a direct parody like Casino Royale, it isn't as serious as ANY other bond film. Maybe parody was the wrong word but it's certainly not mainstream. (And I know about the last thing you said; I found it hilarious)

  • @Nippeli92 No true scotsman lololol

  • @Nippeli92 Did you roll on the floor while laughing, when you wrote that?

  • @SecretTimeWarp And who calls it the first Bond movie? EVERYONE calls Dr. No the first

  • @SkiDaBird Even though that's completely wrong. Enough people just aren't aware of "Casino Royale" - shit, even Bond books that mention the other two non-EON movies skip that one. Doesn't make sense.

  • @SecretTimeWarp I don't like it or never say never again at all so i try to forget them. Thats just me though

  • @SkiDaBird You can't just personally wipe parts of a series out of existence! Okay, if it was one of the foreign movies ("James Bond 777", "Mr. Bond", "Our Man From Bond Street", etc.), I'd understand that because no one knows about those ones, but EON owns the other three now, it's one big series!

  • @SecretTimeWarp Well, wether it is or not the first film, clearly not EVERYONE knows.

  • @SecretTimeWarp the sellers one was better

  • @SecretTimeWarp It was an official joke! The "first" Bond movie as you call it wasn't a Bond movie, but a joke movie.

  • @JamesBondHero You're thinking of the 1967 "Casino Royale" with David Niven - the 1954 version was a dead-serious, quite accurate adaptation of the novel.

  • @SecretTimeWarp OH! The one where they rename James Bond - Jim Bond. Am I Right?

  • @JamesBondHero That's a misconception. Outside of Leiter calling him "Card Sense Jimmy Bond" once, Bond refers to himself as James Bond, and the end credits state that Barry Nelson played James Bond.

  • @SecretTimeWarp Yes, and in the bonus features of the 2006 Casino Royale, they stated that in that Casino Royale version, they yet didn't have a James Bond, instead calling him Jimmy Bond. I once watched the 1954 Casino Royale, but he, I was 8 years old.

  • @SecretTimeWarp Ha yeh exactly it wasnt official! Now EVERYONE knows how wrong you are.

  • @SecretTimeWarp yeah i've seen it and i'm still having nightmares..its fucking shit..he calls himself Jimmy Bond and has an american accent..please!

  • @SecretTimeWarp dude, it was a tv episode lol think before you speak

  • @SecretTimeWarp <--@ Correction , This is the Very First "Bond Film " ! Barry Nelson played the Very first Televised ( Live T.V / Studio Live ) Version of James Bond !

  • @SecretTimeWarp it want official u stupid fuck, they used the character, called him jimmy bond he wasnt even english

  • @NachoMachoLibre "it want official u stupid fuck" - You can't even speak English, and I'M the stupid fuck?! HA! Fuckin' loser....

  • @SecretTimeWarp english, im from england the people who created english you puddle of piss, say this to me in person and i'll rip your fucking jaw off, you silly little child.

  • @NachoMachoLibre In that case, pay some more attention to your language. Your posts are riddled with errors; that's what SecretTimeWarp meant. This post of yours which I'm replying to should have said; "English? I'm from England, like the people who created English, you puddle of piss. Say this to me in person and I'll rip your fucking jaw off, you silly little child."

Had your post been like that then at least you looked like an asshole who can write, instead of just an asshole.

  • @FrisianDude pffft sadow

  • @NachoMachoLibre "Silly little child"? Uh, I'm a grown man, and I would stomp your bangers 'n' mash lovin' ass, kid.

  • @SecretTimeWarp I'm not sure what bangers 'n' mash are,, but if ever im in England,, i'll certainly do what the locals do, and order a big plate full!!!

  • @SecretTimeWarp how old r u ?

  • @SecretTimeWarp The 1954's Casino Royale was a joke.

And it wasn't official 1983 Sean Connery in Never say never is also a Bond movie yet still unofficial.

Can't wait for 23rd Official film "Skyfall"

  • @SecretTimeWarp He was american so he doesn't count. :D

  • @SecretTimeWarp The 1954 version of "Casino Royale" wasn't even remotely true to the books. It was Jimmy Bond, and he was American, not British. And Felix Leiter, now called Clement Leiter was British. Besides it was only a television film. Sean Connery was the first bond. Period.

  • @SecretTimeWarp get your facts straight before you post moronic comments on youtube

  • he has no fucking objection!

  • Connery. The first and the best.

  • @cchris000043 Yesh indeed

  • miles davis was the coolest real-life motherfucker ever

  • Back when Bond smoked before the health and safety nazis had their way

  • In every movie you can tell it from his eyes... hes gonna fuck her

  • "Oui t'la bonne"

LOL after all these years I still have no idea what that damn dealer was saying... anyone care to clarify?

  • @danteslasher Do you mean: "Huit, à la banque", at the beginning?

  • @Onaryc59 AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA YES!!!! LOL it fucking cracks me up all the time I don't know why and it's even funnier now that you've clarified XDDDDDDDDDDD lol please excuse my idiocy...

So wtf does that mean anyway?

  • @danteslasher Your ear (and ear for French, by implication) is v good, but he's saying 'huit a la banque' (the bank has eight, or literally 'Eight to th bank'). In Baccarat you aim for 9 ('Neuf a la banque') at the absolute limit - it's not unlike Blackjack or 21, but the highest score is 9. Anything over 6 is considered pretty darned good. And if I remember, you need to be careful taking anything above a 6 because it could go either way...

  • this is the old casino royale

  • @GuitarFreak3901 it's Dr No.

the first official EON Bond movie

  • He shouldn't have said "I admire you're courage miss err..." she should have first said 'You're very lucky mister...' or 'you're having a very lucky game mister...' and then he would give the classic line "Bond, James Bond".

  • @12Jakeyboy yea but then he would not sound as gentlemanly.

  • Sean Connery was an awesome James Bond!

  • cool ... very cool

  • Casino royal was first made out to be a comedy. fact of the day :)

  • after watching this i want to put on a suit, play blackjack and smoke cigarettes

  • @tylerneier movies are such good influences on us XD

  • Ok so I don't want to ruin everything for you guys but at 0:31 he has the cigarette in his mouth at 0:37 he takes it from his mouth and holds it in his hand but at 0:40 it's in his mouth again but at 0:41 it's in his hand again :O

  • @TheRitchardgaleHater cuz he is bond!

  • @0kwhoisnext No, it's because he's Sean Connery

  • @TheRitchardgaleHater LOL! I wish I had your powers of observation too!

  • @alerommel1 Sometimes it's a curse...Lol just kidding it's pretty fun having a good eye XD

  • He is Bond.

  • ...and the croupier is still French (check 'Casino Royale') XD

  • he's one cool fucker

  • Sean Connery's Bond was the coolest M.F. on the Planet !

  • I really don't recall Bond smoking, but then again, I really don't watch the Sean Connery ones because I don't have them & can't rent them.
