Cinderella is not quite plain and the point of her character is that she is different because of her personality not her beauty , and that is what they were trying to prove. There are thousands of Cinderella movies and cartoons that is why they wanted this one to be a little bit different then all of the rest practically identical movies.

Although this is a loosly based in the 50s with some input of the tradtional formalitits and stuff I don't honestly know, it's alright but i wouldn't by it. This Cinderella does look a little like Bellatrix, I'll give you that, but the music is no offense but rubbish. Ever after is better.

THIS movie is about a young woman suffering with the mistreatment of her stepmother, who happens to find love at first sight with a prince who can sing rock and roll. As if Edward Cullen would ever stop being melodramatic long enough to burst out into a rockin' song about a girl in a dress!
