I live in Sannah Ga. I was cutin' class one day back in the 70's.. waiting for my friend to come out of a lil' dontown "juke-joint" I'm sitting in my 1971 Red 455/ho 4sp Trans am and I hear this guy say " hey wanna sell that car "...

I look over and it was Burt Reynolds . He was just standing there drinking a Coke. He was in Savannah making a movie called Gator. I said, " no sir !! " He says "good boy , now show me what she's got " ...so I did a burn out for "The BandiT"...very cool ...and true

@rayrayholland Let me ask you a couple questions? How can someone who lives in Savannah spell "Savannah" wrong. And in 1971 Trans Am's were either painted Blue or White. Trans Am's weren't painted red until 1973!

@BOURBONJULIO ..Haha !! No. The guy he was stand ing next to was Jerry Reed, but I didn't notice . When I did the burnout,..I was so excited that I left my friend standing there. He said Jerry and Burt busted out laughing. They went back inside and kept filming a scene. The place was called "Hard Hearted Hanna's" (a real place) They turned it into a weird strip joint later and it was in the movie-- Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

Yes but you could also get the Firebird Formula that had all the go fast parts without the frills or the higher price of the Trans Am. A friend of mine has both a Trans Am and a Formula from the 70's and they are both as fast but the TA is a little more bearable to ride in on long trips.

I hate to burst bubbles but this year the trans am was a piece of shit...still cool looking but no balls what so ever...the engine was starved with emissions and fuel conservasion crap.

True but considering the size of the motor a 455. It was better than driving a pinto. Also at that time all they had to do was cut off the cats. That more than likely added 40 hp.
