  • i grew up in the south. i've known all of these women, the maids and the bosses. i can remember my babysitter, her name was yvonne. her boss, mrs. stroud, owned a daycare center..... but it was yvonne who watched all of us, fed us and cleaned up the house for mrs. stroud. i can remember being stunned that she had kids of her own at her house. sad.

  • I love this movie : )

  • Awesome nice song and good movie.just watch yesterday

  • such a good movie

  • just another made-for-white-people movie where white people are the saviors of black people. total garbage. oh, and Kathrynn Stockett (the author) used the identity of one of her family's maids without permission and refused to compensate her. how ironic. but then again, white people think they own everyone.

  • @zarathustra420 Did you read or even watch the help? The people who came out on top were the black maids. The white people weren't the saviors at all. Read it, or at least watch the movie before making an asinine comment like that.

  • @zarathustra420 Oh and another thing. The author actually gave her book to her brother's maid. The judge threw the ruling out because her maid waited a whole year before suing her. Thus when she realized how popular the book was, she wanted in on some of the money. Although I do agree that the author should at least acknowledge that some of the things in the book are inspired by her own personal story. Which I believe she does.

  • yeah... the lady ate.... watch the movie. hahaha

i think there were some loving white people. Celia was one and i loved her character haha. a ditzy fun blonde (maybe a fake blonde xD) and shes even much more fierce yet sensitive in the book. i love how she cared about everything close to her (which wasnt alot) and that was her husband and her first maid (MINNY !!) :)

  • HAHAHHAA THE LADY ATE .........watch the movie :)

  • So glad this move is now Box Office No 1. well deserved. Beautiful book, beautiful movie.

  • i know most of this ppl that went to school with me at leflore high in itta benna mississippi my name is delbert and that is a really good movie

  • My dog and I fell in love with this film.... You can watch it on moovieboob.us

  • The idea that some people will be reminded of the racial inequalities of the era are nonsense. In Europe where the population is more progressive in thier ideas about race this picture may strike a cord but not in the U.S. therefore this picture should be shelved, the roles are to damaging to youngsters.

  • @SuperKenster1 your right but ppl need to learn to decide that for themselves for once. somebody needs the practice.

  • As one of the people who remembers (barely) some of the stuff that went on during the time of the movie/book "The Help", wondering what some of my other friends who also remember think. I think it's an accurate perspective from the point of view of a white child in the south (which is what I was), but I understand some have trouble with it. Remembering it's not necessarily a documentary but a coming of age in the 60's look at race relations in the south..... what do you think?

  • @jaynexzyc do you know why the movie is rated pg-13?

  • @Candies1999 The movie was acutally VERY clean, and INSINUATED violence (you never see itG-13 rating is most likely cause the N word is said. But a MUST watch!!! When the movie ended, and this song was playing I could not MOVE until the screen went black. THAT was how powerful it was.

  • @Sarlinia its a fucking movie about a subject that has already been milked dry. You need to get out more if you were that "moved" by the movie

  • My aunt does so good in this movie (as she always does) love you Auntie Viola!!!

  • It was a fantastic read and I can't wait to see the movie. It brought up so many memories of my life and growing up with a black maid in our home. I laughed and cried and cried. I was so sad when the book ended because it was like a friend had left me.

  • No matter what they say, I still think there always will be better choices for Aibileen and Minny other than Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer. Mrs Davis has kind of noble and proud characteristics in her and what we need for Aibileen is humbleness. As to Minny, I think Mammy in Gone with the wind, played by Hattie McDaniel would be better suited, although Mrs Stockett allegedly has Mrs Spencer in mind when she created the character.

  • Being from the North, I grew up not knowing about segeration or nannies. This is a true story: My mom who was a Surgical Nurse in the Army WWII went to a laundry mat to wash her uniforms, but was disapointed that they could not be wash-being naive the sign that hung in the window, said WHITE'S ONLY ---NO COLORED'S--

so happy we are all one today---these Nannies were the salt of the earth!!! hugs..

  • WOW!!I love movies like this. it brings back so of the way most of the things our grand parents would tell us that happen in there time.I think our young children need to see this movie.maybe a few will get it. and get back on track of doing the right thing with life.@ Mary is on the sound track its going to be incredible .

  • in the book there uniforms r white not blue and skeeter is sopposed to beee reeeallly tall. awesome movie though theres always differences between the books and tthe films!!!!

  • @77bubblegumpink There will always be differences unless the author is also the director for the movie because everyone has a different creative eye and putting together a movie is like an art piece.

  • young people need to see these kind of movies so they can get there heads together i'm only 12 but my mom always says i have the mind of a wise old woman and sometimes it gets in my way of the difference of adults and children considering that i am a child.
