I don't have doubt whether Malcolm will step it up. The secondary and linebackers should be fine, even with the D-Line as an area of concern. Ohio State always fixes their defense, we should be fine, unless Heacock decides to rush 4 and drop 7 all game. Dude Heacock himself was quoted saying he didn't think our corners were capable of man coverage on the Florida receivers. He changed the D up big time and it cost us, he's right they have a lot of speed. The way to neutralize a very speedy offense is by pressuring the quarterback and not letting your D hang. Just look at the difference between when we won it in 2002 and these past couple years. Dantonio brought sent the troops almost every play. Neutralize speed at the point of attack....QB.

Our D-Line was good, and Heacock was used to getting pressure with 4. He would blitz a lot throughout the year as well, and he did a horrible job of directing the defense. No team should get as many points and yards as they did on the No 1 defense in the nation....unless of course you do what Heacock did....played scared and constantly dropped 7 guys with DB's way off their receivers. That's not how you neutralize speed, you get after them.

we won that game because Dantonio brought the heat from all angles and hit Dorsey in the mouth. Our D-Line did play exceptional especially Smith but Dantonio still put constant pressure on Dorsey. The last play is a testament....and I'm mostly talkin about the Florida game we did have a good D-Line then, plus you can't say ours wasn't good this year, Heyward was consistent and Gholston did well. Our D-line nothing less than average and we had good LB's and DB's, YOU NEED to bring pressure then.

Dantonio did an awesome job against Miami and they were one of the fastest teams I've ever seen in college football, with Roscoe Parrish, Andre Johnson, McGahee, Sands, Winslow. Our defense's speed definitely could not match theirs so he knew the only way was to get after them and hit em in the mouth, especially Ken Dorsey. THAT my friend was an awesome job of defensive coordinating. Bring Dantonio back!
