This is an awesome idea, too bad when republicans see it they scream "SOCIALISM SOCIALISM SOCIALISM!" God forbid The government lift a fucking finger and use tax payer money in a useful fashion rather than on corruption like it does when Republicans get in.
@Makron5 Oh Shoot I forgot to mention a fact about why I said that....uhh look at the recent headlines where they are actually screaming how it will lead to a UN Takeover to have convenient bike stations.
Is the service going to periodically re-balance the number of bikes at each station? Seems kind of risky if the stations are far apart and you take a bike to somewhere, deposit it, and when you come back someone else took your bike and now you are stuck.
What happened to driving ( motoring) is fun and an escape? also, it still snows. Don't get me wrong, I love biking but you guys are not selling this right., at all. Don't demonize cars.
@Borchardt101 You are right on your point, it probably isnt best to point a finger too much on cars, considering how much Americans don't care about the environment and how much damage it causes to the environment anyway.
I think they should just market this as an alternative way to casually move within a city or a close nit community.
Credit card??? They should use a cellphone

you realize this is just a way to CUT down on car traffic, not replace it
It would be very useful for people who make short trips around town rather than run their car

In Mexico City, the goverment implemented a simiiar program, verye effective but today is insufficient for a city as large as this.

@Borchart101 I don't think it was their intention to demonize cars. They were just presenting the facts.
@Hyaeon Thats what I was wondering as well. Also...
@MrBoonkwang Ok, genius. How did they solve the problem of too many bikes, not enough stations to park them at in high traffic areas?
