Very well done. The movie 'Gettysburg' sits here beside me, and I'll be watching it again come tomorrow. I'll have to start looking into this musical now as well.

What a debt we owe to fierce patriots like Buford and Chamberlain.

This is a beautiful music video!! Very well edited and very well done. Gettysburg is my favorite movie of all time and I do music videos myself of it a lot.

But this is was just a wonderful video. I like the song too, I've heard a few songs from that musical before, which I like also. Anyway, like I said before, great job!

I can think of no better example of a covering force operation by a cavalry commander. Buford literally won the Battle of Gettysburg with his identification of the key terrain and forcing Lee to deploy his main body prematurally. Without his actions on the first Day the Union position would have been untenable.

Buford's brigades were well known for their fighting ablities.

Meade actually wanted to fight the battle further back toward Washington, so his supply lines would be shorter and less exposed to Reb cavalry.

@ia57man Lots of it was new york cavalry my friend..Us new yorkers gave them rebs a helluva run for their money on the first second and third day ^-^

@bullyboy1863 Quite true about NY cavalry. One can say overall they won that fight by their actions on on Day One. Interestingly no units from my state fought at Gettysburg. They were primarily with Sherman.
