@sagagossard Its just a pattern. Its to build competence in core techniques (to make sure your doing them correctly) and instill some disciplined. Sparring and pad work never tends to be as regimented as this.
@wannabesupergirl Watch this link and you should see what i mean. TKD Single Knife Hand Block (TaekwonWoo). And if you do Tae Kwon Do either WTF, ITF, TKDI . There is a thing called Tenets.
@TheGtx69 Some people run the thumb tightly along the side of the index finger. Others bend it and tuck it underneath the hand. Either way seems to work well and depends on who is the instructor who trained this person. In my art we do tuck the thumb in.
A nice demonstration. but i would have liked to have seen less bouncing though. Perhaps a second run through at a higher speed. And as far as korean words and phrases, the others who have commented seem to have that well in hand. i am more familiar with chinese, japanese and filipino words and phrases for techniques and so forth. cheers.
@naumutroi It's an ITF tkd pattern, so it has sine wave, ie, the bouncing up and down. The fundamental exercise was very well done IMO. I think better than in the legacy dvd. I think the legacy patterns could have been better done. Is it wrong to say that?
@naumutroi The speed is ITF speed, that's how we do patterns. We want to see the movements, if you go too fast, they can become a blur of poorly executed movement.
@dragonbalzy If that is the way she was trained and she is doing exactly they she was trained then thats on her instructors. the demo is not bad for the most part. it is just that for to me and in my opinion the bouncing just bothers me. Someone also made a note of of her thumb..So once again it goes back to her training and who trained her. In her style/art they may not tuck the thumb in. In mine, we do tuck the thumb and we do not bounce.
@Tovash yes indeed. but anuro does in some/most cases mean to the sometimes called "yop ap" vertical line. i am really not sure, when you say anuro and when you have to say yopap for that line. The second technique of won hyo is called "niunja so sonkal nopunde anuro taerigi". there you dont say "yop ap taerigi".

@sagagossard It's a pattern, you practice fundamental movements in patterns, the techniques can be modified for sparring or self defense.

The knife hand is wrong in both demos. The thumb is not tucked in with either hand.

@TheGtx69 The thumb isnt supposed to be tucked in the hands you idiot you'd break the fucking thumb if you did.
