  • Those 8 people - It had to be you.

  • 7 people have no taste in music.

  • The older I get the more I appreciate the American Song Book.A great song sung by a great singer R.I.P. Frank.

  • this is superb! love ol' blue eyes. found a guy who channels frankie. ck him out. sonny moon.

  • is it weird that im 16 and i absolutely love frank Sinatra

  • @SuperMOgreen No hun, it means you have fabulous taste ;)

  • He's the master! No one else quite captures the lust and romance behind his singing. I mean Harry Connick Junior's version is a nice take, but just not the same. It's ment to be slow and and 50's ish.

  • This reminds me of a time I went to a Dodgers game, and this song started playing along with a video dedicated to Mr. Vin Scully. GREATEST EVER.

  • remember ...the younger crowd.. thats why we have these singing talent shows...keep the faith, someday you could be as good, and famous as Frank...but never as good. good luck.

  • I love this song, I get to do this for vocal jazz in my school.

    Such a wonderful piece.

  • Glad to see this is still available.I long for great music and singers.Couldn't resist listening again..Frank will always be the "ONE"

  • I love Mr. Frank Sinatra! His legacy is timeless! Thank you ever so much for posting these videos. Love it...love it...love it and so much am appreciative of good music! :-)

  • Wooooooow!

  • This track is from the "Past" part of the 3-album release "Trilogy."

I recall reading that BOTH SInatra and Tony Bennett regarded "It Had to be You" as their favorite song to sing.

Listening to this recording, I can certainly appreciate their perspective.

  • Mr. Frank Sinatra was the best, IMO! Love this! Thank you for posting this video! :-)

  • Another example of a great introduction that most never include in their presentations.... Why do so many never include one of the best parts of song.....

  • Frank Sinatra is truly relaxing, long live great music

  • ONE HECK OF A SINGER

  • nobody cares how old you are.

  • It had to be you Frank that made me love this music. I'm only 12 and I wish that everyone made music like this today

  • I'm 14, and this is my favorite song. Big Band, Jazz, that''s the best music in the World. I wish I could have lived back then...

  • @XenoNecromorph

Don't forget to listen to the master...Duke Ellington.

  • One of Sinatra's finest recordings, done on July 18, 1979 at the ripe old age of 63. Chuck Finley on trumpet and Dick Nash on trombone help give this recording an extra special sound. Frank always had the best musicians, the best conductors, and the best composers. That's because he was a musical genius...and demanded perfection. The recording studio was his domain!!!

  • I love the '40s retro sound with a Bobby Hacket horn and Tommy Dorsey trombone..very cool!!

  • It had to be you Frank. What a voice. What a song. What a man. THIS is real music. Thank you always Frank.

  • <3 Frank Sinatra & Michael Buble

  • i<3 Frank sinatra :)

  • It had to be you! Thanx! Janice

  • i really love this song

  • This song is so romantic. I want this to be my wedding song. <3

  • @iLUVHKK :)

  • does anyone else imagine walking NYC in a suit, tie, and hat in the rain while listening to this? like, a quiet night in NY, minus the traffic

  • @Mattman993 movie mania much? Agreed!

  • This + Rainymood = Eargasm

  • @faefdsedf I love you.

  • He has not equals. He is the finest singer ever. You could feel every note.

My father started me listening to him as a young boy and I will never stop

  • @bzarzaur01 everyone is equal!

  • I like Mel Torme's version better. Let the barrage of "thumbs down" fly!

  • I tell you guys, Frank's even more effective than Barry White. True story,

  • @arsene737 Hahaha, and you're a Gunners fan to boot, brilliant!

  • Oooh, Franky baby...mmm

  • 4 people are fucking idiots..........

  • @livilegit I think you mean 6....but I agree

  • @livilegit make that six

  • @livilegit make that six...lol

  • Sinatra's voice captures the essence of this song better than anyone. And that's true of a lot of songs. He was tops.

  • Reminds me of my grandfather, whom I cry over to this day, even as I write this, my eyes are watering.

  • This honestly speaks to me, and makes me think of my certain someone I will never have.

  • @Zozmal amen to that.

  • Apparently, 4 people didn't have to be it.

  • they play this song on x2 at six flags magic mountain

  • I want to play this on my wedding dance. I am years from that and my love left me but this is what i will be playing when her and i reunite and start our lives together again.

  • ♥ Ecstatic ♥

  • beautiful! The kind that lasts and lasts.

  • It couldn't be those four people that disliked this. haha

  • Four dislikes? Are they tripping?

  • Franky baby!!!

  • I love this song. I fell in love with a lady and this will always be our song. Our movie was When Harry Met Sally. Bonnie is my Sally. She will always be the girl of my dreams. I love you Sally....I will always love you. Harry

  • @gtosrule thats the sweetest thing i ever read! i love that movie

  • LOVE THIS VERSION! Thank you for posting it.

  • There is Soooo Many Samples Yu can Take From this Songgg !!!!!!!!!!!

    Can Yu Say Downloaddd !:D

  • FAH-RAN-KEY!! >faints<

  • Why do I do just as you say? Why must I just give you your way? Why do I sigh? Why don't I try to forget? It must have been that something lovers call fate, kept me saying I have to wait.... I saw them all, just couldn't fall till we met....

It had to be you <3

One of my favorite love songs about seeing, as the cliche goes, an imperfect person perfectly. Despite all their faults, flaws, vices... It had to be wonderful you.

  • this is gonna be my wedding song!

  • I'm 14 and I love this song always have and hopefully always will.

  • Franky didn't sing this to the 3 dislikes

  • This was the song my dad sang to me when I was little :) *sigh* alot of memories of me just sitting on his lap and him singin this -33

  • Thank you. It Had To Be You was my Mom and Dad's song.

    ron frank

  • who could dislike this? srsly..

  • Wonderful!

  • when harry met sally! swooooooooooon

  • Comment removed

  • @XJOJO411 when harry met sally, the film? and it makes me swoon, get it now?

  • @DisfiguredUnicorn

i never seen the movie im only 16

  • @XJOJO411 i'm only 16 too! i saw it years ago though

  • @DisfiguredUnicorn a sweet movie ^^

  • lol those 2 dislikes are probably in jail or in the loony ben

  • How can anyone unless they are completely insane, disike this...it is incredible absolutely incredible

  • I love the fact looney tunes used to have such an impact on people as kids. A cartoon from the 50's brought people here because they always remember this song, and I don't see that happening with kids today and cartoons now.

Frank's version of this is my favorite. My ex got me into Frank, and it always makes me think of her for good or bad.

  • a league of their own <3

  • I remember this coming from the Casablanca soundtrack...I love it...I am only 17 but I adore this music...Jazz forever :)

  • Frank's pipes are getting a little rusty here. However, he's still the greatest singer that ever lived. It's hard to believe it's been almost 13 years since we lost Ol' Blue Eyes. Frank, your voice and talent are eternal. R.I.P.

  • Thx to Fallout who directioned me to this music & now im in luv with them !

  • this is the song playing on X2 right?? :D

  • heheheheehehe. I like this song. :]

  • Its my first dance bitch back off,

  • Looking for my first dance song, frank sinatra was at the top of my list! I love him!

  • I've been in hip hop, rock, alternative, metal, thrash metal, death metal, black metal, avant-garde metal, jazz fusion and symphonic metal along with a bit of jpop, jrock (japanese music) also korean, electronic, psycho, trance and all the music you can imagine. I heard the most hardcore things you can find, things that would have killed my grandma of a heart attack... at the end few of that and a lot of this gives me shivers and makes me sing...

  • @PancakeOrGTFO I admire that diversity. This song, and other songs of this age, really need no comparison to be thought highly of. I'd like to think Sinatra and Gaga can be on the same shelf and not bother each other.

    Thanks for uploading! :)

  • Now this is music. Pure, classic, style. I grew up with this music. Dancing to it. This is romance at a very high level. Imagine dancing with a beautiful woman in arms. Just enjoying her company. God, I miss this voice. What a wonderful version. Frank Sinatra was all about class and style.Thank you for the posting and the memories.

  • I'm 18 and I just discovered this song thanks to a friend who's 21.

    I'm lovin' this. <3

  • I'm 21 an I'm the one that introduced Sinatra to my family. My grandma said its because he was a guy for her parents and that her an grandpa liked Elvis. So after my great grandparents passed on no one ever listen to him till I came along. I loved him all my life and nothing an no one will take that away.

  • my first time i hear this song was in a movie when harry meets sally ... love it!

  • The most romantic moment of film history: when Harry runs with all his breath to tell Sally how he feels.

  • I'm 16 and this just floats my boat :)

  • When Harry met Sally

  • my bf is in vegas w/ his family on vacation and i miss him sooo much. this song makes me think of him and makes me miss him even more lol. but hey it's just like in the song. "you make me feel glad, just to be sad, thinking of you" <3

  • love beautiful music like this, old fashioned. it sucks how things are so artificial in our world today. things used to be clissical and real. there used to be so many real amazing people. now people sing about sex and drugs. back then it only used to be about love. the beatles had it right, frank sinatra had it right. its not about sex and drugs and achohol, loits about love. all of that other stuff is just stuff people add on to make it more 'exciting' when love itself is already excitiing. :)

  • I feel lucky that I'm listening to this right now (I'm 12,) versus some Lil Wayne crap or something. It's so much purer and gorgeous.

  • Love this version. He could sell a song in any form-swing or ballad. The older I get ,The more I appreciate that era? Thanks for putting this version on-line.

  • I am fortunate. I am 22, but thanks to my father I grew up with Frank and the Gang, there is nothing better on this planet than a good old Frank number.

  • I love you still...it had to be you..xoxoxo

  • This song is going to be our first dance at our wedding and we're only 22! Nothing is more romantic and lovelier than Ol' blue eyes himself!

  • Big shout out to the young generation, like me, I've been listening to Ol' blue eyes since I was 11 and now I am 22 years old. I am definitely sharing this with my kids and my grand children.

  • @iepurasdragalas22 X :* miss u :*

  • The farthest I can remember is my mom singing this to me when I was a toddler. <3

  • Thank you so much!

This is (I believe) the same version performed on the movie "When Harry Met Sally" at the end when Billy Crystal realizes he really is in love with Meg Ryan and runs back to give her his speech at the New Years party.

Magnificent version, too, and no one, but NO ONE does it up quite the way Sinatra did.

  • Wonderful song, remind me a person that i really loved..

  • im 12 and i only lisn to clasic music cuz its the only true music

  • I have got to say, Sinatra is without a doubt my favorite male vocalist. His voice is just so swoon-worthy! And that's saying a lot coming from a 14 year old girl!

  • I wish that the singers of this time that we live in were still singing this style of music, for it is truly wondrous and of a greater musical talent.

  • I REALLY LIKE THE OLDER SINATRA THE VOICE JUST HAS MORE IMPACT YES HES WAS SMOOTH AS A YOUTH . BUT THE OLDER STUFF IS RICHER ...

  • To be honesty i heard this in looney tunes. 'Oh franky', and i loved this song, especially, 'it had to be you and at the time i was like 8, then recently i heard it on looney tunes and just had to google it. Now the majority of the music i listen to are from 50,60,70,80,90's. most 21st century music sucks, especially rap, hip-pop. Before i liked it before. I'm black and i hate rap and i evn listen to rock.

  • @BROLYCURLY my dear mam or sir ... you got some class goin on there ;) if you like the old cartoons look up tex avery he has a cult following great stuff from ther 40's ..

  • @BROLYCURLYable

This song is actually in my favorite Looney Tunes episode. "Book Revue" is the name of it.

  • @BROLYCURLYable

This song is actually in my favorite Looney Tunes episode. "Book Revue" is the name of it.

  • @BROLYCURLYable Yahh even the rock is getting awful with all this " screamo " stuff , but i agree with you music is terrible now a days , im a 16 year old white kid , i dont think age , race or anything has to do with good music taste

  • @BROLYCURLYable try CYNE... or Atmosphere.. Eyedea, Substantial, Nujabes, cunninlinguists, livin legends, the grouch, etc.. i promise... real hiphop still lives :)

  • @Livin9Lightly lol, & im WHITE :p

    i love this world ;)

  • @BROLYCURLYable don't be surprised because you are 'black' and you like this music or even ROCK ! I also like all kinds of music but I don't see my color being a reason to be surprised that I like those other GENRES... I like rap music because I went to highschool in the late 90s and that's the music that I could relate to the most... but It doesn't make me any less likely to like FRANK ! GET IT !?

  • Respond to this video... ALL MUSIC IS GOOD... It just depends on who's LISTENING... (:

  • @BROLYCURLYable holy shit he dropped the black bomb.

  • @BROLYCURLYable i listen to the same things too =)

  • @BROLYCURLYable lol whyd you have to mention the fact that your back?

  • @BROLYCURLYable Aww thats harsh! conscious RAP is INCREDIBLE and highly evolved. it stands for rhythm and poetry. And new music is great too if you look! Its just that mainstream popular mass communicated music is watered down. even pop rock. Back in the day pop music was good, it was jazz and motown. now its commercialism and ego-flexing, but back then there were less people so it was easier to be famous. Now there are so many people on planet earth that you just cant hear them all.
