  • why on earth did you sell your delorean?!!

  • How Many Seats Does The Delorean Have? 4 Or 2?

  • how much would one of these cost?

  • really unique car thats for sure

  • ford + jaguar parts + built in war torn northern ireland = epic ... win ?

  • @Crazybenjiwoo To my knowledge as an owner of an 83' vin 15575, only the stock front shocks were Ford. Dont know about any parts being Jaguar.

Frame is Lotus, tranny is Porsche, engine Peugeot Renault Volvo.

The demise of DMC was largely due to John Z's overly ambitious production goal of 20,000 cars per year to compete with the Big 3.

If he had more of a Ferrari business model of limited production, DMC might (MIGHT) still be around today. ...might.

Counted the eggs before they hatched.

  • too slow mph 95 though limet speed 140 mph..

  • That is a very well cared for DeLorean! I wish I was old enough to get a job and buy it...

  • wat happens when it hits 88 mph

  • @MrTransamcamaro you get a ticket...

  • @mpaineny that's not what is sposed to happen!

  • @mpaineny YOU GO BACK TO THE FUTURE!!!!1

  • @mpaineny hahahahaha!

  • @MrTransamcamaro It can't hit 88mph... that was the point lol! :D

  • So, how much for the hover conversion?

  • LOL what a pity the engine in these things were completely gutless.... sounded like a lawnmower

  • gotta love that 85mph speedo!

  • back to the future theme a ust for a dmc 12 :D

  • 88 MILES PER HOUR!!!!!!

  • too bad houston DMC sells new ones between $60,000- $90-000 which is a total rip-off. i hope they have preowned ones in manual.

  • @TheZonda5002 Houston takes existing VIN assigned cars and strips them down to all components and rebuilds them with new off the shelf inventory and they are as new a Delorean as you can get. Is that what everyone wants? no... But for people wanting a NEW Delorean that is as close as you can get.

  • @TheZonda5002 Where'd you see $90k? "New" tops is $68k with every option checked.

But you're right to a degree, I would not personally buy a Delorean for $60k.

I think its a better investment to buy a used one for around $25k and restore it as needed, and IF needed. For being almost 30 years old, they have held up pretty well on the whole.

Bought mine for $13k ten years ago. I got LUCKY! Owner thought it was junk, it just needed a freaking $1 fuse and I drove it 100 miles home.

  • i hear deloreans wear kinda crappy cars. is that true?

  • @1mckayj you hear "Deloreans WERE kinda crappy cars"? What make a car crappy or not? Is it a Race car? no... but likewise is it a Limo? no. A firetruck? no... Take it as "it is, what it is". I talk some people who say BMW and Mercedes break a lot... to them both are crappy cars. You ask a subjective question wanting a definitive answer, for which there is not one.

The short answer from me is going to be: No, They WERE not crappy cars & They ARE not crappy cars.

  • @mpaineny they were considered a sports car I believe

  • @mpaineny What "makes" a car crappy or not? "I've talk to" some people. if your gonna grammar nazi do it right faggit

  • @civicsound2 Holy shit, you're a moron. "I've talk to"? Nice verb tense, dipshit.

  • "Let's see if you bastards can do 90"

  • What kind of milage can you pull from these?

  • @rpkuhn10 I am seeing between 20 and 23MPG averaging a tank.

  • Coolest car in the world!!!! Sweet..!!

  • this car is a joke

  • i found one for 9000

  • that sounds better than my 89 camaro

  • MAN i want one!!!

  • @MrCbolden I'm happy to say I have purchased another one - Vin7009 (1981) hood grooves, 17k miles, grey interior, 5 speed.

    :-D

  • sweet

  • these things are so spendy now. used ones are like 30,000

  • @metalupurass247123 I just picked one up for less then $20k

  • @metalupurass247123 not really ive seen automatics go for 9000

  • where is the flux capacitor?

  • @blaze2fury My new one came with one :-) from the previous owner.

  • My #1 Dream Car. Ever.

  • i need one car because i like DMC12

  • Deloreans have some good low end tourqe to them. You can feel it when you step on the gas.

  • that is the most beautiful car i ever seen!

  • *Drools*

  • @silntdoogood I'll buy another one someday... unmatched fun this car is!

  • @mpaineny

I've been in love with this car since I got the McDonald's toy version and saw the movie that goes with it in '97. Since then I've been making plans to obtain one. 10 years later, nothing to show lol. But I did find 5 scraped ones sitting in junk yards, all within a few hours drive, and a garage that will help me restore one. The only thing that stands in my way is that pesky money thing.

  • HP doesent matter you want tourqe

  • nice license plate

  • i want it

  • deloreans are nice cars wat i didn't like to much about the car was the engine was alittle underpower for a sports car it only had 130 bhp

  • There are performance updates available for the Delorean now. You can get either a turbo or a Stage 2 performance upgrade from DMC TX. The Stage 2 increases horsepower to 197. The turbo is around 175 to 210 hp, depending on how much boost you have.

  • 175-210 of additional boost form stock or?

  • Yes, the turbo Deloreans have around 175-210 hp. Not many exist, but they're around. The turbo kits for Deloreans aren't available anymore due to DMC TX releasing the Stage 2 performance upgrade.

  • Delorean has a V6 with 130HP

    1981 Ford Mustang had a V8 with 140 HP

    1981 Trans Am had a V8 with 185 HP

  • Makes a Del a fast at the time eh?

  • a group called Neon Neon did an album about JOhn Delorean called "Stainless style" REALLY worth a listen :)

  • thats a nasty ding :36 oh well...jk

  • You didn't hit 88?

  • is delorean a good car

  • Thats a great car,i love it.Hopefully one day i will buy one.I was reading about John Delorean and i was really qurius about one thing, after his company went down, what did he do?How did he earned his money?Where did he work?

  • He didn't work anywhere. He had to file for bankruptcy in 1999. He was trying to get a new car going, but passed away before that could happen.

  • I know all that , and about the dmc watches .But he must have done something .I mean ,how could he lived from 1985 to 2005 ?Its 20 years! But it is really a shame.A great man . . .I am really touched with the delorean story . .

  • Gorgeous car! A close friend drove one in LA yesterday. The first thing he said was "No powersteering!", ha ha. But he loved the car very much.

  • Yah the only thing with Deloreans is you cant go past 88mph.

  • you must miss it <:*( I wouldnt be able to give up a DeLorean, I love them too much <:*(

  • where is the flux capacitor?

  • I'm probably going to do this with mine next month.

  • macchina molto riuscita sicuramente ma nn riscontrò molto successo peccato..:(

  • they had a 1976 delorean-DMC prototype i say it and tis going to be sold for 150,000 no joke

  • you both are wrong, if you want a projet car, in texas there is a warehouse that will sell you a DMC-12 kit, and it will only ruun you $5000

  • Try 25,000 big guy.

    It's made from STAINLESS STEEL.

You can send in your old one though, and for about 10,000 they'll refurbish it.

  • Your wrong too, 25K MIGHT get you a used one in good shape from their lot, but you will spend 50k + to get a remanufactured DeLorean. As far as refurbishing goes, price varies depending on the condition of the car being refurbished

  • Such a beautiful car...

I'd do absolutely anything to drive a DeLorean just once.

  • I rode in one a few weeks ago. It was AWESOME! Rode a little rough, but that was because it needed new shocks. Not a lot of horsepower but a good bit of low end tourqe. Very fun car to be in. An 81 with 16k miles on it. I will have one one day! Long live the Stainless Wonder!

  • All it needed was a Flux Capacitor(?) and it would have been complete!

  • why you sold it il never know....

best delorean vid on youtube it shows almost every part of the car

  • Awesome vid and awesome car! The engine sounds great, the interior looks great and the.... wait, where's the flux capacitor? lol

  • A hot start issue is the fuel accumulator. It is located in the center of the car in the frame. You can reach it from underneath, there is an oval access hole. The fuel accumulator has a rubber diaphragm inside it that keeps fuel pressure when the car is at rest. The diaphragm gets old and fuel seeps past it and the pressure is lost. A temporary fix until he accumulator is replaced is to swap the red and blue connectors in the engine bay, start the car and swap them back.

  • I own 2 deloreans and every time I send them out to west sayville NY, I get a $6000 + bill for the servicing

These cars have never needed body work with the exception of a front fascia change, The bottom line if you want to roll one of these babies, be prepared to maintain them which is never really cheap LOL, considering the labor and the upkeep, I prefer to drive them sparingly , + they get hot staring issues sometimes

  • Deloreans are extreamly rare. If you were to find one, it would probably cost at least

    100 grand.

  • Ridiculous! I bought this one for $17k and sold it for not much more after I enjoyed it for 4 years. They typically go for mid 20k's now.

  • hahahahaha i saw a good one go for 10k on ebay!

  • you can buy a brand new one at the dmc company in texas. but thouse are around 40k

  • Nope. The newly built ones start at 57k. They use significant amounts of new old stock parts; however, they are freshly assembled.

  • hu thats odd. i went there about a month ago and selected one with all the parts i wanted (which insedentaly was most of the highest things) and it came out to $47,980. But they might have raised the prices idk.

  • They have!! I priced one with everything to possibly get and it totaled out at 72,000. thier cool but my dads 74 Briklin Sv-1 is waaaaaaaaaaaaayy better..

  • THATS MY CAR!!!!!!!!! I WANT IT!!!

  • NO ITS MINE!!!! I WANT IT MORE!!!

  • ill fight you for it

  • no anti lock brakes

  • those things ride really cool. the front end is higher up than the back and it looks like a spaceship going down the road. Shoot it pa! its already mutated into human form!

  • I love the part where you show that dent on the body and the music gets all dramatic, haha, clever!

  • go back to the future

  • Your license plate reads "SINLESS" and I was wondering if that was a Shadowrun reference?

  • It says "STNLESS". It refers to the 304 grade stainless steel body on the car.

  • correct.

  • Cool Thought though... like "Spy Hunter"

Because no corporation wants to be held liable for damages, it has to be done by deniable assets, or shadowrunners, invisible to the system where every citizen is tagged with a System Identification Number (SIN).

  • i heard somewere they started making them again is that true? by the way best dmc-12/DeLoren vid on youtube thanks for uploading.

  • Yes they are being built again in various locations around the country. The main facility is in TX. They start at $25 and go to $60. You can get a stainless frame, Eibach performance suspension, and a 197 hp V6 upgrade. That may not sound like much but in a 2900 pound car it's not too bad. They have a fiberglass underbody instead of a steel body like most cars. Long live the Stainless Wonder!

  • It's not that they are being built again. The company that bought all the parts when the factory closed in the 80's sold them to another company which is currently called Delorean Motor Company (DMC) Houston. They have all the left over Factory parts, new Engines, new Transmissions, almost everything. They have recreated a bunch of parts from original drawings etc to keep the cars on the road.

  • It was said by them a while back that they have everything to build new cards but the rights to assign VIN numbers. It appears perhaps that has changed? For a while they have bought old cars and after fully inspecting them replaced all the worn out parts with brand new (20 year old) parts from the inventory. So you can do that or get one built from parts from the ground up. A "new" old car - new in that the parts are not used but they are aged. Not to say the cars are unsafe.

  • You get the equivalent of if you had bought one in 1980 and stuck it in a warehouse for 20 years. All in all not a bad deal... mind you the prices have gone up, up, up... in 2003 they were selling a rebuilt Delorean base price of $32,000 now it is $57,500. I bought mine in 2003 for $17,000 and put a little over 6k into it. The body was 100% perfect, sadly the dent on the rear pass side wheel well happened the day before I was going to film it, a small dent the size of a nickel ($.05 US coin)

  • dude u gotta tell me who bought this car so i can go and buy it from him.

  • Gotta love the BTTF soundtrack over pretty much every Delorean video on youtube.

Thanks for turning it off for the engine sound though :-)

  • ur lucky

  • 88 miles per hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • american laws at this time. real 200 km\h.

  • i heard you can put a VQ engine (nissan 350Z motor) in that car. since the original engine and nissans VQ engines r made at france.

  • the good old PR-V6

  • Sweet video... Im in the process of buying one and I am going to film everything

  • The chassis is from the Lotus Esprit. Lotus did the engineering work for the Delorean.

  • The Y shapped chassis. Genius. I love this car so much!!!

  • The 1st Delorean prototype used a 4 cylinder Citreon engine. The V6 wasn't available yet. There was a video of it on here. It was never tagged and only has 700 miles on it.

  • dis was the best car ever

  • How much?

  • Nice video, I owned a delorean once, brings back memories.

  • Thanks for the compliment.

  • There were two designs for DeLorean the one we see now and another was Lamborghini Murcelago looking one.

  • yep the murcelago one used a chevy nova engine and had suspension from a vw van. the paint was vietnam war surplus for painting tanks. (just kidding)

  • I think I'd have on with automatic trans... getting parts is easy, you just go back in time... I guess!

  • John Delorean never went to jail. He was aquited on all charges. Regardless it's still has the pontential to be a bad ass ride! I love Deloreans!

  • LOL,,,,,,,, Fattig!

  • The Stainless Wonder rocks! A few updates and a little more power and you got yourself a bad-ass car! I saw one at a car show with a twin turbo set up with 215 horsepower. Car was in beautiful condition. It even had John Delorean signature on the dash! The owner met Delorean at a car show in 2000. I want a DMC-12!

  • when john delorean got out of jail, why didnt he start the company back up?

  • he didnt really go to jail, but he was found dead from a heart attack durring the making of a new car for DMC, it sucks man

  • actually, he died from a stroke while discussing plans for high end DMC watches

  • they DO hav the company back up right now

  • Yes DMC is back in bussiness now!

  • He died like last year, he got arrested trying to do a cocaine deal trying to get money to keep the company going. Then got busted. Just after he got released, on Easter he died of age.

  • he didnt get arrested he git all his charges dropped...i saw something bout it today

  • ok, i didnt know that, ty

  • i found out a minute after i posted this tht the company was bak up and everything. sry for sounding stupid, lol. the 2008's look classicly kewl, lol.

  • before the name was DMC it was DSV (delorean Safty Vehicle) was the car using early airbags?

  • The 1st Delorean prototype was going to use a early airbag system. In fact the steering wheel was shaped to accomidate the system. For some reason though they never used it. Even without airbags I still love them though.

  • still to THIS day the only thing that shows its age are the rear louvers...timeless design

  • vive les delorean lol ^^

  • nice.. i want one.. they are so badass

  • haha, you used the song from back to the future. hahaha!!!

  • lol

  • I didn't know it could only go up to 145 km. I still would like one though!

  • This car still looks great after all these years.you h Being that the car only weighs about 2800 pounds, 130 hp in that car is like driving a Civic or a Corolla. Which is not bad, but if you have the money please invest in a Stage 2 Engine upgrade from DMC. 197 hp and a 0-60 of apx 6 seconds. I gotta get me one of these cars!

  • I don't like 80's cars, but this is exception. I will buy Delorean on some day... :)

Im wondering why engine suxors in Delorean. :/

My Italian muscle car "Fiat" has also poor engine... ^^

  • back in the 80's a delorean's engine was one of the fastes sportscar engines around

  • Not really. They had 130 hp and a 0-60 of 10 seconds. Around the time this was built the fastest cars was the Ferrari 308, Porsche 911, and the Corvette. It's a shame that the original company ran out of money before the car could reach their full potential. However if you buy one today with a 197 hp from the new company you'll be as fast as those cars were. Most cars in the 80's weren't about going fast, just getting there. Who cares the Delorean still rocks.

  • that stock 130 engine is not so bad performing as i thought. just make the iar more free-flow to it, put better ignition components, free-flow cat, and got cool performing vehicle

  • Long live the Stainless Wonder! Great car!

  • i WANT IT!!!!

  • awesoem car... that dent should not cost too much to remove, Nice original DeLorean...

  • Still seems like it can move, as long as you don't hit the 88mph and get in 1955

  • well people dont want them for their preformance their not that fast people want them becuase their rare but i hear with a good after market flux capacitor they will run with a ferrari

  • HA HA HA! well they can get the stage 2 upgrade that has 200hp. I live inBellevue where the DMC Northwest is and willask them about a gossip on Stage 3 upgrade withmore than 200hp or 300hp

  • When I was 11 years old a friend of mine had a DMC in their garage. He let me look at it and sit in it. I was speechless. He let me sit in the drivers seat and shut the door. It was like being in a space pod. He passed away a couple of years ago, but his wife still has the car. I haven't seen it in years, but I'm sure it needs work. If she ever sells it, I'll make her an offer!

  • new york plates?

  • I hope you informed your buyer that this D had poor compression in one cylinder and a poorly timed ignition. Delorean engines don't chug like that one did. Holy crap. Sounded like the valvetrane was ticking like mad too. A well beated DeLorean for sure. Bet it was like that when you bought it so you probably didn't notice.

  • Who the fuck are ya ? enzo ferrari ? stop trying to be a smartass you ass hole , sounded right fuck you

  • I'm the Italian Buyer....I know what you said...infact

Michael didn't say me nothing about this, but it's not a problem...Italians do it better!!!

  • look after it,treat it like a baby...i wish i had one:(

  • The stainless wonder!

  • manual transmission was susposed the best transmission for the DMC.

  • was the car automatic or manual transmission

  • "...he was found innocent of any and all charges..."

Actually he was set up by the feds (it was a sting op). They posed as drug dealers willing to fix his financial issues if he did a deal with them. They muscled him into agreeing on the illicit deal, but he still agreed on it. He got off because his defense said the feds had forced him to accept the deal under duress. He was in a tough spot either way.

  • Sold to Italy? Wow, I live in CA and I would have bought this if i'd seen it sooner.. oh well.. great car.

  • how much was the final price for the italian buyer?

  • Deloreans are now available with performance and suspension upgrades. There is a new engine out by DMC of Houston TX with 197 hp available. Deloreans are cool and have a lot of potential. People just need to give them a chance. If John Delorean hadn't screwed up that car would of done a lot better.

  • John Delorean didn't screw up he was found innocent of all and any charges, know what you are talking about before you say anything.

  • nice song back to the future part 2 .....:))

    88 miles /hour ahahahah

  • what kind of transmission was the delorean

  • one of my goals in the future is to own one of these babies!

Im stuck with that Peugeot 106 trolley, bleurgh!

  • Hi mike.

I know this car come in italy...in last days of may i think

    :)

  • Congratulations!! I hope you enjoy 6067 as much as I have.

  • what state u live in cause im interested in this

  • heh the Pay me comment made me chuckle
