  • Hey, anyone have a tissue? There's a red smudge on the like bar..

  • WOW this Lady reminds me of Brian May Playing the Guitar. So Fast, so amazing, so Skilled and so Wonderful.

Celtic Woman by far the Best Music in the World today.

  • @RichysVideoUploads One of Mairead's favorite performers was a guitar player - Jimi Hendrix.

  • Gotta love the drum bit in the beginning, and then Mairead gets going and oh my god....

  • This is one of my favorite reels. It's freaking HARD, but I love it.

  • this is one of he best fongs she dos

  • Ok, Mairead Nesbitt plus Lendsey Stirling equels epic violin. I need to get the two of them together. Please thumps up so this can be seen by all.

  • 29 people are bald because they tried to play like her and their hair got stuck in the violin.

  • I hate when crowds clap the beat. -_-

  • @meauxtheaverage I dont like to hear it if I'm listening to the music, but I'm pretty sure Mairead loves it, just look at the smile on her face!

  • @BastiaanSpeksnijder That's true :) ...it just gets awkward when it's not on beat and then starts to die down, ya know? Lol.

  • @meauxtheaverage Ye, thats awkward. But I know its hard to keep up and keep going!

But the "song" is awesome anyways, with or without the clapping!

  • and on the eighth day He created celtic music and violins..... and it was very good.

  • good god!! this makes we want to river dance like i used to...darn bad ankle!! :(

  • In my opinion, Celtic/Irish culture is one of the most beautiful in this world.

  • @VeranzaTheKing And one of the most fun!

  • God, you can just feel her energy. It's like she plays and she's passing it on the the men as well. I swear, she makes me smile.

  • i love her ,it is very great, very beautiful i am from algerie and i ooooooooooolove that

  • That was an interesting book, The Story of Celto-Saxon Israel, where they apparently did comparisons of the languages and where the nations got their names. Something like the tribe of Dan settled in a place that they called Danmark, hence Denmark? Not sure what jackelprince1988 is getting at, but that is an interesting theory as to where they came from and how they got some of their culture.

  • @jackelprince1988 What a faggot. Take your fuckin bible and shove it up your own arse.

  • cutest face ever you can see in her eyes that shes feeling what shes playin love her and im happy when i hear her fiddle :D (so hawt ;>)

  • Mairead is my favorite member of Celtic Woman simply because she is able to multitask (play and dance) so effortlessly. Celtic Woman is at its best when she's doing her things and the other members are singing together.

  • Her hair is as bright as starshine!

  • I've never seen anyone as good as she is at the Violin :O she's just...WONDERFUL! :D

  • Es una Diosa muchas felicidades sigue adelante

  • o my gosh she is a superhero!!! her super power is to play the violen so epicly the violen cant take it!!! eather that or shes an angel.

  • she makes it look so easy!!

  • Why do most of the people need to mistake religion with natural talent and beauty? I'm atheist and I love these women, and it has nothing to do with God or any divine invention.

  • I adore the playful dynamic between the three of them when they play together.

  • wonder how many hairs she loss on the violin? ^^

(ok I know that a lousy question T.T)

nice music (as always with celtic music;))

  • @KaosKrusher Actually, she loses more (horse) hairs from the bow (broken during performance) than she does her own hair. At times, she really pounds that violin as she flies across the stage, but the results are outstanding, especially if you get to hear and see her perform live.

  • i love this

  • greater than awesome =mairead nisbitt

  • Irish music is like sex, starts of slow, and ends in an explosive orgasm.Totally awesome,So is this, Incredible lady.I am Not Irish, but am jealous of you guys.Love it.I think (mvanfanel ),is right. She seems to be an angel sent to earth.Beautiful and talented, with a Violin, makes for incredible music.

  • Absolutely wonder perfection. Every single one of these women is superb at what they do. I say it all the time but these women are wonderful. When she gets to do the up temp songs - I love seeing the joy on her face. Just great. Thanks for the post.

  • They settled there not because it reminded them of home. They went there to get away from the persecution of the Quakers and other religious communities in the north and New England. They went to be alone to live their life style in freedom. Hunters, farmers, and Reformed church with Presbyterian overtones.

  • she looks older than 35

  • I understand she's been playing since she was 6. It shows!

  • She looks like me when I play my guitar/sing - Like she's having the time of her life doing what she loves. :D

    I love this! :D

  • Who clipped her wings? :-)

  • i could never play violin....not with fingers that move THAT fast! She's amazing!

  • shes so mysterious and beautiful. i wish i could be more like her...<3

  • Whats with the Stargate behind them?

  • @ZAFR1C It's how they got here.

  • @ZAFR1C Good one! :)

  • she is so beutyfull es muy hermosa

  • She's outstanding, drummer too.

  • pretty amazing to stay on beat with the audience clapping out of sync with the song XD

  • holy crap im alone at home, and I'M CLAPPING ALONG!

  • @blackday44 How could you not?

  • @blackday44 i'm too. it´s awesome :-D

  • @blackday44 Hahahaha! Go for it. ^_^

  • @blackday44 you're not the only one, trust me

  • Wow, why are there so many people called mairead a fairy?, but well, she's really like a fairy

  • @ddthienvuong because she's awesome and she isn't like one to me she is one lol

  • I play fiddle and totally love her playing! I am trying to learn some of the stuff she plays, and only have is the first part of the butterfly so far! she is a great fiddler!

  • My name is Mairead too. =]

    She's brilliant.

  • lol i love watching her play, she looks like she has so mch energy lol

  • Great performance ...well within her capability ...a headline for us all! Lovely tone and great intonation.

  • Great performance ...well within her capability ...a headline for us all!

  • The drummers are great but Mairead is 20 feet of talent and energy packed into a 5 foot body.

  • The drummers are great but Mairead is 20 feet of talent and energy packed in a 5 foot body.

  • Whats is this womans name? she is so perfect... her awesome makes me cry dT_Tb

  • @MegaSuperDonovan....This Ladies name is Mairead Nesbitt...She is an Irish born and bred multi award winning violinist/fiddler... She plays both classical and traditional music with equal ease, even though she was told she couldn't be good at both...

  • Those are NOT conga drums.

  • @Gizmologist09....Nobody said those drums were "conga" drums, We know those are bodhráns. The comment was about a different video.....geeeeeeez You might try reading the whole message thread before jumping down someones throat...

  • @gaeilge101 Sorry i didn't realize YOU would think i was jumping down someone's throat. My bad. Please oh please forgive me! I shall do penance.

  • Gosh I just love this song... it sounds like an argument XD you can hear the conflicting sides... first part then at 1:05 it's almost like it's saying "Buuuuut..." then it goes into the other side XD then at 1:36 it's like it's saying: "Aaand.... " and then the two sides conclude! LOL. I love it when you don't have to hear the words to know what the music is saying :)

  • Mairead is AMAZING! She has such energy, and presence on stage.

She is absolutely beautiful as well. I watch her performances over and over!!

  • Ah! I have looking for this clip for awhile! I thought I would never find it! Thanks for posting!

This music makes me want to dance.... You just can't sit still! L-O-V-E Celtic Woman!!!

  • huynhminhtri, (whew!) Many Scotch and Irish settlers in this country ended up in the Appalachian Mountains. The music they brought with them influenced "hillbilly" music. It really was the same. Mostly reflecting the sadness of leaving their homelands and families. However not all of it was sad as these same people did know how to "party"!

  • imvanfanel, it is easy to understand. She is a beautiful and talented Pixie!

  • This kind of music is same as Hillbilly music in America , and I wonder that Celtic people is some kind of Hillbilly people in England ?

Somebody know , let me know , thanks

  • @huynhminhtri Hillbilly music didn't originate in America just the inbreeding

  • @huynhminhtri Look up "Celts" at Google. Please.

  • @huynhminhtri....Many Irish and Scottish imigrants settled in the Appalachian Mountains because the area reminded them of Ireland and Scottland. The traditional music that they brought with them from Ireland and Scottland became what you Americans call "hillbilly" or Bluegrass music... Most of the imigrants from Ireland and Scottland were NOT the rich and powerful. They left Ireland and Scottland to get away from those kind of people. Most were farmers and laborors.

  • @gaeilge101 Thank you. The first time I heard "The Contradiction" I immediately thought of bluegrass music. That is SO good!!

  • @gaeilge101 Sam, will you please tell me about the drums played in THE CONTRADICTION? Being a drummer by trade, I find them fascinating! And the solo on Mo Ghile Mear is excellent even though we're not sure about the Conga Drums being a part of Celtic Music history! Thanks, your friend Mac

  • @mac23skidoo...The bodhrán is an Irish frame drum ranging from 25 to 65 cm (10" to 26") in diameter, with most drums measuring 35 to 45 cm (14" to 18"). The sides of the drum are 9 to 20 cm (3½" to 8") deep. A goatskin head is tacked to one side (synthetic heads, or other animal skins are sometimes used). The other side is open ended for one hand to be placed against the inside of the drum head to control the pitch and timbre.

  • @mac23skidoo....What can I say...except no Conga Drums aren't traditionally Irish...But at no time has it ever been said that Celtic Woman would only do traditional Irish music and I guess that goes for instruments too..... Ha Ha.. David Downes is responsible for all the arrangements that Celtic Woman does and he likes to incorporate "different" instruments and sounds to make things interesting....hence Conga Drums...

  • @gaeilge101 It's spelled 'Scotland' btw.

  • @butterflytigress1985.....Yeah, well you knew what I meant....

  • @gaeilge101 -----Celtic music touches me in a way that few things do. Although 8 generations removed from Scotland, the hair on my neck rises when I hear traditional Celtic music. I don't understand the music in the way the people who live there do, but it has a powerful hold on me. I am grateful for Celtic Woman & the other Celtic musicians & singers & dancers. Youtube allows me to enjoy this genre a LOT.

  • @gaeilge101

That's what my ancestors did. :D

  • @gaeilge101 my dad told me the same thing! i always wanted a violin but we never had the money

  • Great!!!!

  • BELLISSIMOOOOOO!!!!

  • They make that look EASY! ALWAYS puts a smile on my face!

  • It wasn't a favorite of mine in the beginning. First thought it sounded kinda odd, now I absolutely love it, such a lively piece and great interaction with Ray and the other drummer, does anyone know his name? It's not Nicky Bailey.

  • Reminds me of Riverdancing.. (the beginning)

  • Absolutely amazing Mairead is amazing, love the fiddle and the Bohrons

  • she's hot

  • I'm absolutely enchanted by the this group! I adore Celtic music... it just does something to me, to my spirit. It makes my mind and my heart race at the same time, and I get the wildest ideas when listening to it. Celtic music really takes hold of my imagination. Celtic Woman is possibly one of my favorite groups of all time- and I just found out about them yesterday! Absolutely amazing music! :)

  • amazing!!

  • i like ik!!!!

  • faster :D

  • oh my , what a beautiful happy melody :D!

  • inredible!

  • OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is some "fiddler". One of the Celtic Women from YouTube.

    Dad

  • Why do i live in Holland? I wanna live in Ireland

  • She's my favorite!I.L.U.

  • EPIIIICCC~~~!!!

  • @fiddle0351 I watched her in Montreal. She makes different ornaments in live shows.

  • @fiddle0351 oh just enjoy it. It is good music, good talent and it should not matter if it is from a cd or live. Enjoy the art.

  • The violin is wired with an internal pickup. The transmitter is on behind her left shoulder. You can see this clearly on Dueling Violins in the Lord of the Dance show. Another poster remarked that he watched her fall during one her performances and the violin stopped- as she stopped playing because she fell. If she had been playing to a track, it would have been obvious.

The sync issue is a frequent issue with YouTube. Sometimes 1 or 2 frames lagging, sometimes several.

  • @fiddle0351 Having mixed dozens of live and mixed media shows, I can tell you the FOH engineer (front of house) has his hands full even using a programmed mix desk with autofade. Someone falling while playing is not what you are watching for and even so, your reaction time will not prevent the detection of a track playing while the performer is not. On the LOD shows, her violin PU was internal to the body of the violin, evidently like a guitar pickup as opposed to a dynamic mic on the bridge.

  • @fiddle0351 Thank you ! Used to play simple system switched over in the early 60s due to Padddy Cartys music...still play a bit on a wooden Radcliff I have. In fairness I should say it is a good flute ...probably better than most of what you might hear on the trad circuit.

  • @fiddle0351 Yes, most classical players are quite out of their space in other types of music .with a good ear though and a bit of help they should be able to give a good account of themselves....Maguire though was something else ...not always approved of !!

  • intro=AWESOME.

  • @fiddle0351 Interesting coment about mime ! The playing is good though...to a fairly competent classically trained player it would not present a lot of problems .

  • @fiddle0351 Actually you are wrong. Mairead DOES play with a live mic while she dances around. She is wearing a body pack transmitter and an In the Ear Monitor receiver as are they all.

  • @fiddle0351 You are assuming that music videos are filmed with one camera, there are probably a dozen. The music is constant, but at the end of the show video editers assemble the best shots from all cameras. Often they use shots of the musician not in sequence with the audio, a discontinuity - it can be a mistake(editers are not usually musicians), or in the case of a lot of Irish videos, it could be a gag. But, with all your negative comments about Mairead, I must assume you are a troll.

  • A very musical Contradiction ...not the often heard bag of bees we hear!

  • @Lisnageeragh I enjoyed your flute music on your home page. Very nice!

  • @IntoTheMystical Thank you ...terrible buzz ..but in the corse of fixing problem!

  • She is incredible.

  • I read in an Australian interview today that Mairead considered her career in Celtic Woman "long term", so she's not going anywhere.

  • wish i had a girlfriend like that.

  • If Mairead got out of Celtic woman...I would not be no Celtic Woman no more. ;P

  • What will it happen if mairead go out of celtic woman ???? i don't want to know :S

  • autotune this

  • @nicoladani Autotune drums and a violin? I'd pay to hear that.

  • Fantastic. She plays so easily...Incredibly impressive!

  • @CutePi31415 I know. It bugs me so much!

  • Irish people are sooooo sick. I love them.

  • She's so amazing; not to mention doing the hair flips, and they don't make a hitch in the sound at all. <3

  • Ireland is cool.

  • Maired is a hottie! And she can play the violin.

  • @gojenni714 naa noone keeps track of the beat when playing irish reels. unless theres slower parts

  • I just love her..she's amazing <3

  • Comment removed

  • @Jonah6146 =)) lol...

  • Where is the singer ?

  • @LadyPrincessDiana There isn't a singer in this song. This is her solo.

  • such beauty and such talent together.... very unusual !

  • Mairead Nesbitt doesn't talk about age because she feels performers should not be defined by age.

You can see YouTube videos of her dated 1996 when she was with Lord of the Dance, so she cant be in her 20s.

Most people think she was born around 1975.

  • oh Jesus!!!

how old is she??? Because I think i'm in love again!!!

not just because she's so beautiful, or 'cuz she play's pretty good... i'm in love because her smile and her eyes fill of fun ... and... and.. everything!!!

    she's AMAZING!!!

  • I liked what did write about the Celtic Woman - The Contradiction.

You are a man Fun i like
