  • 1:03 FREEEEEEEEEEDOM!

  • Hello. :) Is the first song, played with the guitar patch, an original composition? It's brilliant. <3

  • how much for the korg m1

  • How many preset this synth? Thank

  • Why don't you play the song "Shine on you crazy diamond" of Pink Floyd with the effect 03 you used? That's really amazing.

  • Quick question, how simple is it to go about creating your own bank?

  • Eexellant Demo Dear i wana a kiss on ur hands.....:p

  • Nice demo! Do you which other Korg synth has the "Universe" patch? Thanks a bunch

  • I think Vangelis used the "Witness" preset in Blade Runner ^_^

  • @MisterBankz

No... it's not that one...The M1 have been manufactured first in 1989, Blade Runner was released in 1984! But yes, it's similar.

Vangelis used a Yamaha CS-80 in Blade Runner...(And on every soundtrack he made!)

  • @vincentpellerin Ohh I see, thanks for the info ^_^ very interesting

  • Ah, Cheiron studio used one of those!

  • I have this plus 1 upgraded version.

I think the sounds are kool on the new board, but not drastically different or better than korg's own sound set.

  • @SPAZZOID100

what is the plus 1 expansion?

are you speaking of the m1 ex?

  • @nokia3210fuck

nope...the EX was a standard korg upgrade, the plus 1 was a third party add on.....extremely rare

  • Thank you William, for uploading this demo of the M1. :-) i enjoyed it very much.

A friend of mine got one for his birthday back in 1989 and now i own the virtual one with

all the M series -and T series cards. Sad to say, i didn't find any of the 'plus'-patches or sounds. They're quite unique and still sound wonderfull to this day.

Maybe i'll get round re-programming them inside the soft version of the M1 . ..

  • at least yours works! I just bought 1 and reset the damn thing now i cant upload songs says something about: sysex enabled cant find it anywhere

  • great keyboard even after 21 years I have had mine since new and just bringing it out of the mothballs after shopping for new keyboards. christ looking at $2000.00 keyboards and comparing them... I think Ill stick with the M1 as you can customise the hell out of the sounds and combo them up then layer your tracks. Just saved myself $2000.00 because you still can't really beat it for the money in my opinion

  • i have this version of the M1.

Once you've used all the presets..then what? It's not like the interface allows for programming custom sounds or anything

  • @MARANTZamp you can customize the presets according to your musical needs,i just did and got sounds very similar to the other legend, roland d50 and some vintage organs like yamaha yc30,hammond b200,technics sx600 and many more, you just need to get into it and start shredding the original presets out, check my videos and see for yourself...thanx

  • How much does a Korg M1?

  • I have an m1 with this same upgrade, but the sounds are really no different or better than the stock sounds

  • "solo" flute used polyphonically. Genious. :D But then again, who doesn't?

  • yummMM

  • I think this really shows how great the M1 "can" be in the right hands.

Its William that is superb here. Replace the M1 with an SY85 or even a Kawai K4 and they will sound just as good. Ust remember this kids before you dash off to Ebay and buy an M1 and get bitterly disappointed.

Its not the instrument. It never ever is, its the person behind it.

An by thatI don't mean you have to be a good player. But you have to be able to tap your talent above anything else.

    Synths are just tools!

  • @kolakube123 you are damn right !!!!!!

  • 0:24 EPIC.

  • dont sell it?

  • Where could I find the plus 1 expansion card alone?

  • demonoid!

  • i found the patch on Demonoid

  • i think u could get the Exp cards from the Korg Legacy Collection.

  • Someone took at ton of original roms and made them for the legacy edition, including this one.

  • those expansion cards must be really rare now

  • @vegunited06 yes and they have batteries in them which cannot be recharged

  • OK thanks.

    Del

  • 1'20" ??? is it ypurs? or is it a song melody?

  • I made it up, but it's essentially me attempting Enya-esque material.

  • Nice demo! Thanks.

I would love to get that patch at 2m.02s in for my keyboard. What is it ?

    Del

  • I think you could get close with any sampling+synthesizer from the 90s, like a JV-1080 or a Korg from that era. It's the kind of thing that 90s digital synthesizers are good for.

  • nice informative vid.. i got a question..

Can you program this keyboard for diffrent voice tones? for example I play a melody it requires trumphet and string and organ.. can you save trumpet and clik a botton and switch to strings then clikc a button and play organ and back to trumphet? i had a yamaha psr-520 u save all sound in the memory bank.. and just click bank 1,2 etc.. i thank you in advance for you help

  • Where did you get the 'Plus 1' expansion?

  • I purchased an M1 that already had it in. They're hard to find, as it was a 3rd Party hardware+expansion card update that's pretty tricky to find nowadays.

  • @williamenroh

How many m1's do you think were done with this upgrade?

Maybe I will hang onto mine after all...

  • the M1 hasn't got any LFO. did you mean oscillator pitch modulation?

  • The oscillator, filter, and amplifier parts each have dedicated modulation, which acts as a LFO on an analog synthesizer. So I figure just call them LFOs - they perform the same task, they're low frequency signals (even if digital), and you have wave shape options just ilke an LFO.

  • 0:25 sounds like the bladerunner CS-80 brass.

  • sounds like a part of a pink floyd song

  • I am getting a M1R in standerd format are all the sounds the same as the m1?

  • The M1R has the same sounds as the M1. However, the "Plus One" expansion adds 4 more megs of sounds. I'm not sure if it can go into the M1R or not.

  • does the korg M1R have floppy drive for loading the style from the disk?

  • The M1 is a legend, I still haven't been able to master the sequencer though...any tips are more than welcome.

  • I agree, it's a beautiful instrument. The sequencer takes some time to really master, but the manual is always of great help.

  • @steveycs

The M1 sequencer is useless...just use software to sequence it.

  • 2.16 - I wanted to go to my CD collection and to fire-up JUMP your video was so demonishing impressive!!!

  • the pad at the end and the chords you're playing has to be the best part for me

  • should have played seinfeld with KillerSlap

  • Liked the Braveheart flute part :) Nice.

  • These sound are great! I would buy M1 for shure if i know where to get "plus 1" expansion...Enyone konw?

  • @useronjaname

Nope...the company that provided it doesn't exist anymore

  • Nice work, thanks for the vid! Say, how does one go about getting one of those expansions? Did you make it yourself or is it available somewhere?

  • Oh... I have a Korg M1 but with no samples due to its dead battery... It sounded distorted once, if someone can help me, please!!! It is a legendary keyboard and i could not play it!!! HELP!!! By the way I'm argentinian if someone could sell me a M1... The video is great!!! Sorry for the space. Good luck on everything to everyone!

  • You can change the battery. It's very easy. By a Cr232 battery. Unplug your Korg M1. Then open all screws in the bottom of your M1. After you opened it, you will see the old battery. Replace it. Close your M1. That's it.

  • Unless they've changed, i "think" its CR2032 (in my Triton it is anyway)

Yes had one of these 20 year ago (abouts:)

  • You're right. I forgot the 0. CR2032. Sorry.

  • wow i have an m1 and you have gave me lots of ideas of how to play thanx

  • i still use a m1 but only as a midi controller, the sounds frim m1 was bretty nice for the time, but now i dont like this sounds and i still missing an arpeggiator haha.

  • wow those sounds are SO COOL. I'd love to have that keyboard...mine is seriously out-dated! Nice playing.

  • More outdated than 1988? You do realize that this is a 20 year old keyboard, right?

  • Sound Quality doesn't date.

  • Your demos of the Witness and Blade sounds are so Holy Diver, too. \\m// And that acoustic guitar bit rules.

  • Also, your demos of the Witness and Blade sounds were so Holy Diver! \\m// And the first guitar bit was aces.

  • Oh man, I NEED that expansion.

  • that sounds awesome, how much is that synth/keyboard? I looking for a good one.

  • very good demo

    thank you

  • Excellent keyboard. Thanks.

  • GREAT !! Would be worth 6 Stars !! This shows one more Time that the M1 is still a very good Workstation.. have to get that Card !!

  • I had an M1+1 years ago. Replaced it with a T2.
