@0poIE yes if you have the firepower to verse a whole armada of 1000 pluse maybe ships if the guy has them... what could happen is you see a single miner ship... then you attack it for money/possesion of the ship... he calls his ships in for help.... turns out the guy is a zillionair and has 1000+ ships 5 seconds away if they take hyperspace and each is the size of New York City... ouch you would had looked pathetic lol... the game is too big to explain check the website for more...

200-500 billion solar systems is a VERY bad idea

Even 10 million would be large.

think about it it would take around 150 gigs. or if it is all on the servers around 4 terabytes would be needed 5 million would be more optimal, perhaps only within a single arm's sector. also if you think about it the more solar systems there will be the more copy-paste look it will have, and the less detail will be put into it. Look at elder scrolls oblivion dungeons, and fallout 3 subways. Otherwise, I like it!

Not everything is loaded at once. If your not near the object it won't be loaded.

You will only download core game components, the rest will be downloaded and deleted dynamically as you play the game.

If not, well then I tell you that ONLY one galaxy will be made of about 300 billion solar systems. You will never be able to explore just that one :D Also, it would take years to reach the closest other galaxy...

you could say its a very early testing of the game, a few people get to test the game, mostly testing the engine, searching bugs etc, after that comes a beta that will be more into stressing the servers, also bugsearches there and after that there usually is an open beta where very many players gets to play the game and that is mostly to stress the servers but open betas comes when the game is soon to be released.

Im sure there is lots of other things in alpha beta, im not a dev so :/

i think it will be one of the best space related MMO ever created , cant wait for its release
