  • Oh God I thank you for the man, he strengthened my faith in the Catholic church.

  • I love the Catholic church.

  • @mbaren58. At the Lord's supper Jesus said that His blood will be poured out for the remission of sin. He also said in John 8:23-24 that if we dont believe who He is we WILL DIE in our sins. In Col 1:24 Paul was talking about the suffering he experienced for spreading thegospel & he suffered quit abit. He also said that if Jesus stayed alive abit longer He would have experienced more than just the crucifixion. The suffeings of Jesus lacked nothing in order to purge us from filth & sin.

  • @mbaren58. The final touch in "purifying the silver of its dross" is what Jesus accomplished in His blood sacrifice. Purgatory doesnt so this, bcuz it doesnt exist. Jesus accomplished the complete purifying of sin to its very core. He has purified us to the extreme. We enter heaven bcuz He has purified us. Purgatory is a place of suffering, this is what I was taught by every priest, bishop & nun before I left this horrible church. We could never suffer enough for sin, only Jesus did that.

  • @mbaren58. Romans 8:1 says there is no comdemnation now for those who live in union with Christ Jesus. Jesus accomplished purfication for us on the cross & in His resurrection. John 8:23-24 says we will DIE in our sins if we dont believe Who Jesus says He is. The CC says purgatory is a place of suffering, that is why they offer the eucharist(bread&wine) to the Father to shorten their time in purgatory's fire. If purgatory is such a blessing then why does the RCC want those souls out of there?

  • @bornagainsaint1 Your knowledge of Catholicism is so weak, no one could set you straight in 500 character responses. If you have any interest in learning what the Church really teaches, go to a Catholic website and just read. Or read the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It's available online.

More often than not, when you comment on "what Catholics believe," you are completely wrong. Don't rely on anti-Catholic propaganda for your information.

  • The Holy Spirit purifies us in the here and now through the believing in Jesus' blood sacrifice. If this place purgatory exists where the HS purges us from sin then why did Jesus die such a horrible blood sacrifice? In John chp 8 Jesus said that if we dont believe who He is we will die in our sins. The book of Roman says we are free of damnation for those who are in Christ, but the unbelievers will be judged for their deeds and they wont stand too much of a change for heaven.

  • Thanks Scott, you've only reinforced my faith in the doctrines of grace and the God who justifies....:) And I'm glad you clarified what you believed as a reformed theologians...it seems you weren't as reformed as you thought yourself to be!!!

  • He is a very articulate guy who explains the Catholic faith very well.

  • The way that Scott Hahn explains himself is so articulate and clear, he simply blows every protestant misconception out of the water, and no one can even begin to refute what he says. That's one thing I like about his. All of this is not coming from a cradle catholic, but a former protestant!!! Scott struggled, but he knew better than to fight God, and so he converted and joined the church that he knew Jesus founded. Many more protestants will follow in his footsteps, praised be Jesus Christ!

  • It's sad how only a little over 6,000 people have viewed this, but over a million for lady gaga...lol

  • The lack of true intellectualism in this country is astonishing.

  • In 2 Maccabees 12 the people being prayed for were committing Idolatry at the time of their death, as shown by the false god on the medallion they were wearing, and therefore committed a Mortal sin when they died, which you are sent to Hell for, not purgatory.

  • @jhalloran1 More accurately superstition. How do you know where they went?

  • In 2 Maccabees 12 the people being prayed for were committing Idolatry at the time of their death, as shown by the false god on the medallion they were wearing, and therefore committed a Mortal sin when they died, which you are sent to Hell for, not purgatory.

  • This is why I like Dr. Hahn so much. The explanation of purgatory is right on, those who opposed this count out both Maccabees and it's only because the 2nd book talks about the collection of money for the offering made at church for the soldiers who died for wearing other God items. For the belief in other Gods they collapsed dead but they fought for Israel and the God of Israel and this is why the offering to save their souls was made.

  • I love Jesus the holy lamb of God, his blessed mother Mary, his saintly father Joseph the great carpenter, and all the great and mighty Apostles who were led by the holy spirit. Thank you Jesus for your church.

  • One of the best explanations on purgatory I have heard. My favorite part of the video is the shot of Scott Hahs's worn, tattered, well read and highlited Bible. God Bless him!

  • i believe in jesus always and forever

  • Dr Scott Hahn explanation about purgatory is amazing. Indeed Catholic Church is true church founded by Christ himself.

  • I like his explanation on purgatory too
