That is what make internet the great place for independent artistic creation it is a magnificent tool and it was even more revolutionary than tv. TV was a monologue an you could only choose from a very small variety of content now in internet it is practically guaranteed you can find anything or if you don't find what you are looking for you just create your own content. That is why I love the internet. You can go from bland and mediocre pop culture to a real masterpiece.
@SolidGoldKalashnikov their actually not gay. Bach had like 20 kids and Beethoven had multiple girlfriends. I'm sure they would have rather been gay than as stupid as you.
What is the problem? Capitalism has rapidly accelerated the amount of choices that people have. I can now choose between hundreds of different styles of clothing and fabrics in local clothing stores. The only thing holding someone's unique style back is there want to be accepted. You can say that corporations "exploit" this or whatever bs but it comes down to your own personal choice.
@Dev518 That doesn't change the fact that corporations do exploit this, and that they spend a lot of money on research to keep up with the ever consistently, and constantly changing trend. Me, I prefer the shade, it's more chill there.

My father sad that Rebecca Black's Friday is a good song..... That is when I knew that my father was in no position to be the one to teach me music.... Because if I became a musician under my fathers instruction, I would been brainwashed into blindly becoming the thing I hate, even if I was paid millions of dollars for it. I feel somewhat thankful that I was not totally retarded.
@techepix what does bmth have to do with anything? they're a perfect example of what he's talking about. ollie is just a symbol, the whole band is. plus, they're nothing new or ground-breaking.
I agree with most of what you said. Though I think that there are still good bands and musicians out there. I like a lot of bands but Disturbed is among my top favorites.
This is nothing new. Even the hippie movement was one giant groupthink clusterf***k! That being said, the art community, and I use the word "art" in it's broadest sense, is bored. I know I'm bored at least. This is a great opportunity. I'm pretty excited about what's going to happen.
@GreatBigSlide the point is there was a time the mainstream gave more respect to art. Sure there's still some good stuff out there but mediocrity is undeniably gaining more steam.
I'm definately part of the problem too. There is no more need to rebel. Its time to embrace it and become an important part of it. Thats life or suck.
I don't think wearing clothes should represent anything. It's just tailored fabric that you wear because it's illegal to be naked. Dress shirts, jeans, and Vans shoes just happens to be comfortable for me, but it most definitively does not represent who I am.
Why is buying a product from a major company, in this case a clothing one, such a bad thing? I see where you are going with the "industrialized machine" idea but do you think that such a machine really caries as much importance to the world as you are claiming it does? Do clothes really matter so much that just because someone is wearing a pair of Nikes, a sweater from the GAP, and fruit of the loom underwear make them a bad person or something? Does is make them a "product of the machine"?
I wear the clothes that I wear because I haven't been able to afford new ones in the last 5/6 years. And because Penny's (Primark for UK people) is cheap.
@Brucer420 Look whose calling who a faggot, seeing as how only a true fag takes the time to burn twilight, rather than move on with their life. Go figure, you're too dense to get the joke, too dense to know the difference, and too dense to know better than stick your foot in your own puck ass mouth. Peace Nigglet.
@Brucer420 Puck ass, is what I invented just for you, an asshole so wide, that you could fit a puck right in, cause that's how much of a fag you REALLY are. Anyway, how was your day, oh that's right, you spent your day around one comment, waiting to reply with your oh so clever response. Your an ameauture, at best, I'm a pyrotechnic, so I would know. The difference is, I don't brag about it. Mad? Really? Wow, I'm going to be serious with you for one moment here, GTFO, and go back to 4chan n00b.
@Brucer420 "wow, grow up" translated "wah, wah wah." SOMEONE please get this kid a pacifier. Is that the best you can come up with? Toddlers have better comebacks. I know exactly what you are, a prepubescent kid who plays too many games to know the difference between video games and reality, some doped white kid, who's idea of cool is a shitty ass rendition of assassin creed merchandise. Go back to your hole you uneducated waste of sperm whose father should have jacked you off into a watermelon.
@runninglyrics Looks like you're pretty mad. At least I have creative and fun hobbies rather than trying to act like an internet tough guy who sits at the computer failtrolling people to feel a sense of human interaction though the internet. If that's your cup of tea, then you're more than allowed to drink from it.
And your responses are pretty childish and uneducated, so just do Cody a favor and spare your comments from his inbox.
@Brucer420 I am infuriated... Please. Coming from the guy who's first response was "Shoes are shoes. Who gives a damn?" Like the ignorant person you are, who takes everything at literal value. It's people like you that only take up space in this world, and never contribute. People like you who end up on the streets, high and asking for spare change, in fact, you like one of them already. So far, I haven't heard one clever thing from you, other than dead internet memes. So come at me bro.
@runninglyrics And I have yet to hear one clever thing from you besides being an upset little kid. If you get mad over someone over the internet, then how do you function in the real world? Looks like you still have to grow up.
@Brucer420 Me: " So far, I haven't heard one clever thing from you" you in the next comment -> "And I have yet to hear one clever thing from you." That is so copy right infringement(sarcasm) before you go taking that literal too .NOT VERY ORIGINAL, and still has yet to present anything intellectual, or arguable anywhere. It's there reason I thought I'd poke you with a stick, it was one of those "oh god, someone is wrong on the internet moments" and I think a few people needed a laugh.
@runninglyrics Normally I don't feed trolls, but you're a special case. A case that is devoid of human interaction and neglect from parents. And your interpretation of "clever" is a bombardment of 5th grade profanity? It's funny how people like you get mad over the internet and assume that the person you're arguing with is also mad, but you're the only one who's steaming right now so go suck your mom's tit you baby.
@Brucer420 So, let me get this straight, you assume I think you're mad, you say that my idea of clever is 5th grade insults, assume I'm a troll, and the first thing you do, is repeat any insult I've already made, still avoid the subject of this conversation, assume other life circumstances without being funny, and then think you're treating me special? Oh god, that's rich. You are such an arrogant little shit, hahahahhahahhaahha. Y'know what, I insult for the laugh, but you're too serious.
@Brucer420 Tell you what, go ahead and tell me why shoe's are just shoe's, and if you have a well thought out response, you can walk away from this with your dignity. If not, you, look like the biggest dick ever, and just like any other white kid on the internets, can be shamed, just to come back as another username anyway. It's really just for the sake of crushing a spirit, since realistically, it doesn't matter online as much as it could offline. Your choice.
@runninglyrics Oooh a "choice"! Since when have you become the almighty ruler of the interet? Are you even aware of how ignorant you are? Where or when did "dignity" come in? And if dignity is in this conversation, then you lost yours to moment you replied to my original comment because it proved that you're just a steamed up troll who's mad over nothing except being proven how dumb and mindless you are.
@Brucer420 Then why even proceed to explain yourself or your argument. Lets get one thing right, I never once said you were mad, so, that means, since you consistently say that I am mad, you must be. That's the way it works. Plus, I came on the internet to help out a friend(as in now) with something, and was scrolling through my profiles, and you already responded? Holy crap you have no life! Prove what? There wasn't even an argument yet, I was poking fun at you. Cody's Comprehension level: 0
@runninglyrics You really are a dumbass. "You have no life". You've slung that petty fail of an insult so many times, it just shows how non intuitive you are. We all have lives. LOL
Mine's just better and more meaningful than yours.
@Brucer420 Also, it takes two to play. You didn't have to sit down on the other end of the chess board and move pieces, not that you know how to play, since all of your valuable pieces are gone, like your rooks, and queen. Meanwhile, I only put to play a few pawns.
@runninglyrics Okay, so say if I were wearing Converses which, according to Cody, represents my ideologies. So if I were to step in a pile of dog shit, does that mean that my ideologies have just been covered with shit? No. It means I just stepped in dog shit. Is wearing Nike's represent ideologies that one is active in sports? Maybe. There are people who wear Nike's because they're comfortable, but don't take part in sport activities.
I feel like I'm trying to explain this to a 5 year old.
@Brucer420 It was a metaphor, do you know what a metaphor is? More so, it was an example, and very simple, condensed explanation of what he was generally talking about. How many little rich white kids go down to hollester and buy clothes because they're hip? How many people feel ashamed when their friends in the insider club listen to pop, and he/she listens to indie? Are you going to tell me, that you actually wear ALL the clothes you were because they are for what they were made for?
@Brucer420 CONTINUED: If you can honestly tell me, you wear EVERYTHING you wear because it's waterproof, keeps you warm, helps you operate in no way relating to social interaction, then you are one, in maybe I dunno, rough estimate 1 of 7 million other people. That is a shit argument. based on nothing but your own personal opinion, there is nothing solid there, I at the bare minimum am using common fucking logic, and your present your opinion with even lack of common knowledge.
@runninglyrics Showing how many times you've replied to one comment, it just shows how immature you are by trying to get in the last word. So just save your time and deal with the virtual embarrassment and go do something constructive like your so called 'pyrotechnics' or draw a picture.
@Brucer420 You just made yourself look like the biggest cunt on the internet. Someone can't take a little joke and have to curse and rage about it now. Dude, just get over yourself.
@Brucer420 Continued 2: See, you just lost all you dignity, and respect, because when shit gets real, you have nothing, no intellect, not facts, no substance, and you have the nerve to to act like you tough shit, and know ANYTHING AT ALL about the subject matter? I knew this from the beginning, I just thought it'd be more funny to see you try, and then make an ass out of yourself. That aside, I doubt you even know anything about psychology, or the social structure of the world we live in.
@Brucer420 Hell, I bet you don't even know what psychology has to do with this, or even know that everything he's talking about, are actually rather keen observations that comes from actually being able to analyze people within the social structure, to the extent of transducing that data into something definable, knowable, understandable, then finally explainable. I can always get to the the second to last stage, on the spot, however, explaining is something of a thing that takes knack
@Brucer420 Post 5: I never been one to take the teacher position in a classroom, however, I've always been the one to tell the kid in the back shouting out stuff to nut up, or shut up. Which brings me to the philosophy of the internet. My one rule. You can always take a person, a genuine person seriously, and you can never take the internet seriously. So when people ARE the internet, (you mad bro, and the likes relatable to 4chan or other meme sources) you can't take them seriously, now can you?
Since you claim that I use internet memes, then you know what they are too thus making you unable to be taken seriously. Plus you've used then too, so you're credibility of any "philosophy" is fallible.
@Brucer420 That's been a phrase waaaaaaay before zombieland, duuumbaaass, I sweeear. Where do you thin they got it from? I'm not going to bore you with history of phrases. Actually, I did use some here and there, sure, when I was fucking around with you. But notice that I had none in my argument? Notice you don't have SHIT against anything I presented in my argument either? Yeah, I'm done with you, wiped the floor with you, and ironically made a few friends on youtube off of this. Laters.
@runninglyrics If it is, then I haven't heard it before it was popularized by the movie.
"Argument"? If you're stupid enough to think that is was an argument, then you're a pretty naive person. This was just a conversation proving how much of a child you are.
Wrong. You used memes, don't try to deny it haha. "Come at me bro".
Whatever. Guess Youtube friends are the kind you'll ever have. Have fun being an upset kid.
@runninglyrics wow kid, you're mad. he's right, you're seriously immature. you probably dont even know shit about psychology either so shut the hell up and go suck a cock.
@IngsocDoublethink Do something that'd get you on the news. Whether it's a good or a bad act that you do is your own choice. I'm just suggesting that you take advantage of the situation in whatever way you think of.
depends on how you define art, stop oversimplifying according to cliches. plus , all these things you're talking about are the concerns of a 18 year old. counter cultural obsessions, cute, but seriously...?
Don't agonized over whether you can "solve the problem", because you can't. Just do the best you can. You'll eventually lose the war, but you just might piss off some evil rich glutonous yuppie scumbags in the process.
i'm part of the problem too but, i think the solution is 'the venus project'. i joined the activist group 'the zeitgeist movement' in order the support the direction suggested by TVP.
I don't know how to change the problem of consumption other than to run away and live in a tree, grow my own food and make my own clothes. Sounds rather ideal if you ask me.
What people don't realize is that Rebecca Black's "Friday" was made for 13 year olds, by a 13 year old. Why don't we make fun of "Row, row, row your boat," while we're at it? Hahaha. And Kesha's songs aren't much better. Fucking retarded hypocrites.
the reason the corporate "machine" "won" was because its a system that feeds itself. I also think that the term corporate machine is a misnomer in the fact that its not a soulless heartless machine, its a means of having everyone work, and not just have slavery. The 'machine' and 'the man' are all a way that people can live their own lives how they want to, without dedicating their entire lives to a career. But i would not know the exact definition because i am a lazy teen.
I love it! Everybody wants to rebel against conventionality, but when you point out the the shorcomings of their cause, the truth comes out, that its not about the cause, its about the rebellion. Vegetarians for example, stop eating meat, but tell them how many foods TRULY have animal in them, and the vegetarian wants to disregard it or play ignorant. Another ex: people who hate Walmart, but they still shop there, or they go to kmart or target or some other corporate empire. Get over yourselves!
1. Stop paying so much fucking attention to TV and MTV. Honestly, I would be mostly oblivious to culture things like Jersey Shore or Miley Cyrus or whatever unless counter-culture-like folks such as you pr TJ told me about it. The irony.
2. A resource based economy (natural resource economics) instead of a market economy
3. No one found bands like Tom Waits, Slayer or Minor Threat through the mainstream. The mainstream can only piss off a person with taste, it's for idiots & teens. Fuck it.
Actually, when I was a kid I wore Chuck Taylors, because I was poor. They were like $7-$11 bucks. Sometime around 1995 or so, the prices started to rise and rise until I just gave up, and I haven't had a pair since. Not including a pair of low top knock offs that I bought a couple weeks ago at wall-mart. Thank god for monopolistic retail giants!!! Anyway fuck Chuck Taylors it's all about the PF Flyers "Sandlot Sandlot Sandlot!!!"
@charliewecker I'm totally rocking a rip-off Wal-mart pair myself right now, more due to the fact that they're cheap as fuck and not too flashy like every other pair of shoes than because they look like Chuck Taylors.
maybe we should all start shiting in the streets, taking pride on it and start a war over it, because the big guys are clearly smarter than us, and when we find out what they do to solve such a problem, maybe we could repeat it on them.
I wore Chuck Taylors when I was too young to know what non conformism was. They just looked cool to me at the time and I stopped wearing them when I saw other people wearing them because I didn't like it when people wore the same shit as me!

This is nothing new. Even the hippie movement was one giant groupthink clusterf***k! That being said, the art community, and I use the word "art" in it's broadest sense, is bored. I know I'm bored at least. This is a great opportunity. I'm pretty excited about what's going to happen.
paulie1755 10 months ago
HAH, this makes me laugh.
This is not the dead age of art. People who say that, or "rock is dead" or try to get anything like that across means one thing!
-You don't know where to look!-
Also, who gives a fuck what's being played on Pop radio stations and Mtv?
durrr it's pop, if you dislike pop, then continue to go get your music elsewhere!
In other words..If you love a specific medium of art, don't rely on the mainstream to tell you your taste if you dont like it! FIND IT YOURSELF
GreatBigSlide 10 months ago
@GreatBigSlide the point is there was a time the mainstream gave more respect to art. Sure there's still some good stuff out there but mediocrity is undeniably gaining more steam.

Does is make them a "product of the machine"?

runninglyrics 5 months ago
@runninglyrics WOAH! You're such an internet badass! Goddamn bromeo chill the fuck down!
At least I'm man enough to play with fire. What's a "puck ass"?
Also, yeah, you're mad.
Telling me to move on with life...haha
Brucer420 5 months ago
@Brucer420 Puck ass, is what I invented just for you, an asshole so wide, that you could fit a puck right in, cause that's how much of a fag you REALLY are. Anyway, how was your day, oh that's right, you spent your day around one comment, waiting to reply with your oh so clever response. Your an ameauture, at best, I'm a pyrotechnic, so I would know. The difference is, I don't brag about it. Mad? Really? Wow, I'm going to be serious with you for one moment here, GTFO, and go back to 4chan n00b.
runninglyrics 5 months ago
@runninglyrics Wow, grow up. For a so called "pyrotechnic" you sure are immature. Someone light a match in your ass?
Brucer420 5 months ago
@Brucer420 "wow, grow up" translated "wah, wah wah." SOMEONE please get this kid a pacifier. Is that the best you can come up with? Toddlers have better comebacks. I know exactly what you are, a prepubescent kid who plays too many games to know the difference between video games and reality, some doped white kid, who's idea of cool is a shitty ass rendition of assassin creed merchandise. Go back to your hole you uneducated waste of sperm whose father should have jacked you off into a watermelon.
runninglyrics 5 months ago
@runninglyrics Looks like you're pretty mad. At least I have creative and fun hobbies rather than trying to act like an internet tough guy who sits at the computer failtrolling people to feel a sense of human interaction though the internet. If that's your cup of tea, then you're more than allowed to drink from it.
And your responses are pretty childish and uneducated, so just do Cody a favor and spare your comments from his inbox.
Brucer420 5 months ago
@Brucer420 I am infuriated... Please. Coming from the guy who's first response was "Shoes are shoes. Who gives a damn?" Like the ignorant person you are, who takes everything at literal value. It's people like you that only take up space in this world, and never contribute. People like you who end up on the streets, high and asking for spare change, in fact, you like one of them already. So far, I haven't heard one clever thing from you, other than dead internet memes. So come at me bro.
runninglyrics 5 months ago
@runninglyrics And I have yet to hear one clever thing from you besides being an upset little kid. If you get mad over someone over the internet, then how do you function in the real world? Looks like you still have to grow up.
Brucer420 5 months ago
@Brucer420 Me: " So far, I haven't heard one clever thing from you" you in the next comment -> "And I have yet to hear one clever thing from you." That is so copy right infringement(sarcasm) before you go taking that literal too .NOT VERY ORIGINAL, and still has yet to present anything intellectual, or arguable anywhere. It's there reason I thought I'd poke you with a stick, it was one of those "oh god, someone is wrong on the internet moments" and I think a few people needed a laugh.
runninglyrics 5 months ago
@runninglyrics Normally I don't feed trolls, but you're a special case. A case that is devoid of human interaction and neglect from parents. And your interpretation of "clever" is a bombardment of 5th grade profanity? It's funny how people like you get mad over the internet and assume that the person you're arguing with is also mad, but you're the only one who's steaming right now so go suck your mom's tit you baby.
Brucer420 5 months ago
@Brucer420 So, let me get this straight, you assume I think you're mad, you say that my idea of clever is 5th grade insults, assume I'm a troll, and the first thing you do, is repeat any insult I've already made, still avoid the subject of this conversation, assume other life circumstances without being funny, and then think you're treating me special? Oh god, that's rich. You are such an arrogant little shit, hahahahhahahhaahha. Y'know what, I insult for the laugh, but you're too serious.
runninglyrics 5 months ago
@Brucer420 Tell you what, go ahead and tell me why shoe's are just shoe's, and if you have a well thought out response, you can walk away from this with your dignity. If not, you, look like the biggest dick ever, and just like any other white kid on the internets, can be shamed, just to come back as another username anyway. It's really just for the sake of crushing a spirit, since realistically, it doesn't matter online as much as it could offline. Your choice.
runninglyrics 5 months ago
@runninglyrics Oooh a "choice"! Since when have you become the almighty ruler of the interet? Are you even aware of how ignorant you are? Where or when did "dignity" come in? And if dignity is in this conversation, then you lost yours to moment you replied to my original comment because it proved that you're just a steamed up troll who's mad over nothing except being proven how dumb and mindless you are.
Brucer420 5 months ago
@Brucer420 Then why even proceed to explain yourself or your argument. Lets get one thing right, I never once said you were mad, so, that means, since you consistently say that I am mad, you must be. That's the way it works. Plus, I came on the internet to help out a friend(as in now) with something, and was scrolling through my profiles, and you already responded? Holy crap you have no life! Prove what? There wasn't even an argument yet, I was poking fun at you. Cody's Comprehension level: 0
runninglyrics 5 months ago
@runninglyrics You really are a dumbass. "You have no life". You've slung that petty fail of an insult so many times, it just shows how non intuitive you are. We all have lives. LOL
Mine's just better and more meaningful than yours.
Brucer420 5 months ago
@Brucer420 Also, it takes two to play. You didn't have to sit down on the other end of the chess board and move pieces, not that you know how to play, since all of your valuable pieces are gone, like your rooks, and queen. Meanwhile, I only put to play a few pawns.

runninglyrics 5 months ago
@runninglyrics Then go be mad somewhere else. haha
Brucer420 5 months ago
@runninglyrics Okay, so say if I were wearing Converses which, according to Cody, represents my ideologies. So if I were to step in a pile of dog shit, does that mean that my ideologies have just been covered with shit? No. It means I just stepped in dog shit. Is wearing Nike's represent ideologies that one is active in sports? Maybe. There are people who wear Nike's because they're comfortable, but don't take part in sport activities.
I feel like I'm trying to explain this to a 5 year old.
Brucer420 5 months ago
@Brucer420 It was a metaphor, do you know what a metaphor is? More so, it was an example, and very simple, condensed explanation of what he was generally talking about. How many little rich white kids go down to hollester and buy clothes because they're hip? How many people feel ashamed when their friends in the insider club listen to pop, and he/she listens to indie? Are you going to tell me, that you actually wear ALL the clothes you were because they are for what they were made for?
runninglyrics 5 months ago
@Brucer420 CONTINUED: If you can honestly tell me, you wear EVERYTHING you wear because it's waterproof, keeps you warm, helps you operate in no way relating to social interaction, then you are one, in maybe I dunno, rough estimate 1 of 7 million other people. That is a shit argument. based on nothing but your own personal opinion, there is nothing solid there, I at the bare minimum am using common fucking logic, and your present your opinion with even lack of common knowledge.
runninglyrics 5 months ago
@runninglyrics Showing how many times you've replied to one comment, it just shows how immature you are by trying to get in the last word. So just save your time and deal with the virtual embarrassment and go do something constructive like your so called 'pyrotechnics' or draw a picture.
Brucer420 5 months ago
@Brucer420 You just made yourself look like the biggest cunt on the internet. Someone can't take a little joke and have to curse and rage about it now. Dude, just get over yourself.
kontonakuma 5 months ago
@kontonakuma Speak for yourself. haha
Brucer420 5 months ago
@Brucer420 Continued 2: See, you just lost all you dignity, and respect, because when shit gets real, you have nothing, no intellect, not facts, no substance, and you have the nerve to to act like you tough shit, and know ANYTHING AT ALL about the subject matter? I knew this from the beginning, I just thought it'd be more funny to see you try, and then make an ass out of yourself. That aside, I doubt you even know anything about psychology, or the social structure of the world we live in.
runninglyrics 5 months ago
@Brucer420 Hell, I bet you don't even know what psychology has to do with this, or even know that everything he's talking about, are actually rather keen observations that comes from actually being able to analyze people within the social structure, to the extent of transducing that data into something definable, knowable, understandable, then finally explainable. I can always get to the the second to last stage, on the spot, however, explaining is something of a thing that takes knack
runninglyrics 5 months ago
@Brucer420 Post 5: I never been one to take the teacher position in a classroom, however, I've always been the one to tell the kid in the back shouting out stuff to nut up, or shut up. Which brings me to the philosophy of the internet. My one rule. You can always take a person, a genuine person seriously, and you can never take the internet seriously. So when people ARE the internet, (you mad bro, and the likes relatable to 4chan or other meme sources) you can't take them seriously, now can you?
runninglyrics 5 months ago
@runninglyrics Nut up or shut up? Zombieland. Ha.
Since you claim that I use internet memes, then you know what they are too thus making you unable to be taken seriously. Plus you've used then too, so you're credibility of any "philosophy" is fallible.
Brucer420 5 months ago
@Brucer420 That's been a phrase waaaaaaay before zombieland, duuumbaaass, I sweeear. Where do you thin they got it from? I'm not going to bore you with history of phrases. Actually, I did use some here and there, sure, when I was fucking around with you. But notice that I had none in my argument? Notice you don't have SHIT against anything I presented in my argument either? Yeah, I'm done with you, wiped the floor with you, and ironically made a few friends on youtube off of this. Laters.
runninglyrics 5 months ago
@runninglyrics If it is, then I haven't heard it before it was popularized by the movie.
"Argument"? If you're stupid enough to think that is was an argument, then you're a pretty naive person. This was just a conversation proving how much of a child you are.
Wrong. You used memes, don't try to deny it haha. "Come at me bro".
Whatever. Guess Youtube friends are the kind you'll ever have. Have fun being an upset kid.
Peace.
Brucer420 5 months ago

the reason the corporate "machine" "won" was because its a system that feeds itself.
