  • I wish there were a Ninja Kel-tec.

  • I like the Kel Tec s. My choice of firearms is the P 11. The first I had was junk? It fall apart. Received a new one at Christmas and it's wonderful. Fobus makes a great holster for it. It is concealed with no printing. Love the weight of the weapon. It maybe me, I'm shooting very accurate with it about 93% at seven yards. Mo complaint here. Safe shooting

  • p11 with a belt clip works great! no need for a holster

  • Wat functions better pf9 or p11?

  • the p11 will hold 12 rounds +1 in the chamber you can also use S&W 59 to get 15

  • Cool, have the P32, P3AT, & P11 myself. Is your P3AT nickled? Otherwise, keltec gave up on the stainless. All should check the KTOG (KelTec Owner's Group) for tips & stuff, like making mag shims to prevent rimlock with certain shorter rounds.

  • .380 and 9mm are the same bullet, although the .380 usually comes in a lighter version. Back when I reloaded a lot, one of my favorite loads was an 88-grain .380 bullet in a 9mm case ahead of 5-grains of Bullseye. I'd have to look at my load data, but it was about a 1300+ fps load. With the JHP bullet it was a vicious round.

  • Or is the P9 the P11? I forget! I do remember installing steel ejector rods, belt clip, trigger shoe, grip extensions and other things. Trigger shoes are a no-no for metal triggers because the set screws will loosen and jam the action. The K-T's with their plastic triggers are the only ones I trust with the shoe... the pointed set screws bed deeply and the shoe will not slip.

  • I have all three, .32, .380 and 9mm; black, earlier models, can't think of the model #'s except for the 9mm which is "P9". Got each one when they first hit the market. These guns are for carrying; not firing. They are not Glocks, and will not hold up under sustained firing. The takedown pins begin to back out, the magazine catches wear out, & the guns wear badly with heavy use. I have carried only the 9mm for years, and never use them for target work. At least the parts are cheap, or free.

  • I like this pistol. It carries well in my pocket. Power wise, it beats the Beretta 950 I used to carry.

    Thank you

  • Just purchased a Keltec p32. Fits in my pocket for fun !

  • I have had the smaller 9 come apart in my hand. A buddy of mine had just purchased it. He sent it back and the replacement did the same thing for him a couple of weeks later.

I mean it's a cheap backup pistol at best. I don't think I would take a chance with either of these based on the reviews alone.

  • @TruthUnderFire

Myself! I don't trust ANY sub-sized autoloader, and only rely on them when I can't carry full-size. But, as pocket pistols go, the KT's are fine for carry so long as you don't shoot them to pieces. Run a couple of boxes through the new pistol, then clean it and carry it. Change out the ammo every 6-months, and test fire the pistol with each magazine once per year. I still almost want to recommend 5-shot revolvers to mini-autos anyway. But, each has their opinion.

  • @mnpd007 "Change out the ammo every 6-months" why?

  • @mnpd007 I hear that. Maintenance is important regardless of the firearm one owns. Little things to know as well about most semi auto pistols is that the more you try to cut corners, the more trouble you can encounter. I''ve noticed a much higher rate of jamming using lead rounds as an example. Throw in laziness and not cleaning one's weapon and you have a higher potential for trouble. Reloads can also cause headaches. Close friends in law enforcement tell me they NEVER use reloads on duty.

  • @TruthUnderFire Reloads for a carry gun can cause mechanical and legal problems. I can hear the prosecutor now.."So, you couldn't find any ammunition deadly enough, so you had to make your own?" I use Winchester white box from wal-mart in my PF9. Its not as effective as the $1.50 a round stuff, but then I can practice cheaply with my carry load.

  • @rb2112002 You don't have to use reloads for defensive guns, but you should definitely use some expanding hollow points if only to cut down the chance of collateral damage to people that could be far behind your target. Even the most sly attorney in the country can't say much about a cartridge called something like "Critical Defense" being used to defend your life.

  • @RevolverPhantom My carry is a 147 gr JHP. I think an attorney with dollar signs in their eyes can twist the truth to show anything they want. "you would not have had to defend yourself with these devastating bullets if you just let the police deal with it. You are a vigilante". Its a scary world we live in..

  • @RevolverPhantom My carry load is a 147 Gr JHP. My point is that despite the name of the ammo, an anti-gun attorney can still distort the situation to make you look like a vigilante. "Why did you feel the need to carry a gun? Are you paranoid? Dont you think the police do a good enough job"? Reality has very little to do with a court of law these days..

  • The P3-AT i cant shoot due to my hand the slide will come back and hit the inside of my thumb and index fingers

  • @gyuru1234 What? That's what I like about the KT's... the slides ride very high on the frame and don't pinch. I have large hands and the little Beretta Tomcats and Bearcats will cause my hand webbing to bleed on the first shot. You must really be ham-handed. If you can't shoot the Kel-Tecs, I can't think of any pocket pistol that you CAN shoot. You may be stuck with full-sized frames, which is much better anyway, except for carry comfort and cover.

  • @gyuru1234 Well i feel that full frames are just as good as poket pistols

  • Huh? Was a disparaging comment removed (suggesting Saturday-night special status) about the Kel-Tec's?

Wish I could have read it. Such people are snobs.

I can suggest America has been using a snob-assault rifle, at great expense, when a simpler system would have been more reliable, and more powerful.

Beauty, cost, and refinement doesn't mesh well with the sweaty hard-working person that hasn't a big paycheck. Meter readers, trash collectors, pizza delivery. Work hard, can't spend big.

  • This is a great comparison! I just purchased a .32 Keltec I would have bought the .380 if I saw this first.Anyways, This comparison ROCKS!

  • @1burlycop

well you have a slide lock that the .380 doesn't

and the .380s aren't going anywhere if the .32 doesn't work out

  • @1burlycop you shouldn't worry too much about the "bigger" .380 round. I have a P32 as well, Ive seen pictures of it shooting through 16" of ballistics gell. John Browning who invented .45ACP carried a .32 for his personal defense (a cartridge he also invented). .32ACP is definitely in the man killer category.

  • Nice comparison video! I love my P3-AT...It shoots hp, fmj, everything with out a hiccup. It's that gun you can carry all day and forget its on you. I don't leave home without it.

  • This is a great side by side comparison. NONE of the gun shops within driving distance have any in stock. I am really torn on weather to get the P11 or the PF9. They are soo close to the same size but both have advantages over the other. Rounds vs weight....arg cant decide. Probably just get the first one that is available. LOL

  • GWEB, I am looking to get a p32 for work. I hear they have something you can put in the mag to prevent rim lock. Do you know what they are called so I can do a search for them. Thanks.

  • @Peidmonte89

    rim lock? what is that?

  • @Peidmonte89 Rim lock is caused by improper loading. the very small and light rounds make it easy to push on the nose of the bullet when loading, poping the rim of the round you just loaded behind the one previously loaded. You need Load and tap the back of the mag into the palm of your hand and that should align them properly.

  • @uncleharley1 ya, but cant you buy something for the p32 mags to help prevent it? I am only going to use FMJ's. Should I still be concerned with this happening? Thanks

  • @Peidmonte89 It can happen with ANY heavy rimmed rounds. I used to have trouble with a 22 I own. As far as I know ther is no way around it other than to assure you load it correctly. There is a Keltec PMR 30 video around here somewhere that shows the proper loading and also shows what a rim lock looks like since the 22 mag is a rimmed case as well. I will see if I can dig something up for you

  • i love the pf 9 i just had my break in session with it to day 250 rounds through it and only had one fail to eject. this was my first non glock fire arm and i was impressed highly with it. i traded my wifes taurus pt 709 slim junk gun for it great trade the pt709 failed to many times to justify entrusting my wifes life to it. any way i highly recomend the pf9 (well as much as i can make a recomedation for 250 rounds lol)

  • I had a kel-tec and we shot +p ammo in it and the slide came off the rails, the slide release fell on the table along with the magazine...the shell casing was split like a grape. IMHO..pure junk...buy yourself a Bersa .380 or Sig 229 if you want a 9mm cc.

  • I'm looking to get one of those Kel Tec P-11's as a main ccw and a S&W 442 for a back up piece. After I may invest in one of those NAA mini revolvers. I think it's a good set up myself.

  • kel tec is such an underreated gun company. They don't receive the credit they deserve. If their guns were 30% more expensive, idiots would think they're better guns.

  • Great video!

What kind of internal safety does the Kel-Tec have, so you can carry it with a round chambered?

  • @ristin59

the p-11 only saftey is a long trigger pull....dont know about the rest

  • @ristin59

It's a double-action hammer pistol... just as a revolver. And like the revolver, the trigger pull IS the safety; nothing else is needed.

  • Nice video. I have really come to like Kel-Tec of late. I've handled the two 9s and both are very nice. A family member has a p11 and loves it. Fits in a large-ish pocket.

  • Kel Tecs Pf 9 is one of the first sub compact full 9mm.Its a shame the designer never patents his designs, look how Ruger and now Sig have copied the pistol. Also for local people Kel Tec is so customer oriented they will tweak your pistol to your ammo choice,no charge and if dropped off at the factory, done the same day.(Just like Taurus),LOL.Their PF 9 has made a personal defense pistol that the working man can afford. With belt clip and mag extension ,still under 3 hundred.Kel Tec keep on!!

  • great review

  • I love my .32. Almost as much as I love 'shall issue' states.

  • all the bashing of this gun but still out sells any thing in the gun case guys at gun stores can't keep them in stock the 9mm 's & 380's I guess nobody wants 32's anymore .

  • P11 does lock open after last rnd. The P11 Depends on a Pin Spring to protect the gun from going off if dropped etc. The PF9 actually has a Hammer blocking trigger that cannot Go Off from dropping etc. The P11 Trigger has a long Hard pull (10lbs!) The PF9 has a smooth 5 lbs trigger pull..Both guns are DAO !

  • nice review. them little kel tecs are perdy lined up. dunno if i like the stainless one though, but thats personal preference. hoping to pick me up one of the little 32's sometime soon

  • Does the double stack 9mm stay open after an empty mag?

  • Very quick, very clear, and very detailed review. Good deal! I would have a P11 if I didn't live in California (The P11 isn't on the "safe handgun" roster). :(

  • i like the pf9!

  • Thanks for the comparison of the P-11 and PF-9. I'm debating on which one to go with and wondered what the size differances were between them. This is the first video to show a side-by-side view that I have seen. Good Job!!

  • @waredbear

    Thanks, glad it helped

  • @GunWebsites this was a very good comparison. nice to see all models and their size being held in a hand not just somebody taking snapshots with them next 2 their 1911

  • I personally do not like the looks of the Kel-Tec CCW pistols. I think they are quite ugly. I will use them if I had to defend my life with it but that's about as far as the attraction is going to go with me. A good one night stand sort of way to look at it for me. If I'm carrying a pistol day in and day out. I would like to have one that I can see myself carrying all the time. I'm sure the Kel-Tecs are good quality pistols but they don't do it for me that's all.

  • Cool!

  • wow, are these your guns or borrowed for the reviews? because id really love to get my gun back from ya after watchin that you have rubbed them together like 2 pieces of sand paper and scratched the crap out of it after i just bought it lol. I have the pf9 and love it, but damn......slow ur roll with my pocket rocket high speed you have 10 minutes

  • neat little guns .

  • How is the recoil on the P-F9 as compared to the P-11? With the PF-9 being single stack n all. I see people shooting the PF-9 and it looks like a lot..

  • do you own these guns? or do you borrow them fr reviewing for ppl? and how many firearms do you exactly have? lol

  • @chandler3214

    no

    beg, borrow, buy

    many

  • could they make em any uglier?

  • defending yourself is a homicidal crime because of the screwed up american justice system

  • @bank4fun

    Interesting opinion

  • @bank4fun That depends on the State in which you live.

  • For me the best option is 9mm. Easily available and less expensive than the micro calibers. Back that with more punch and you have a winner.

Since the p11 and pf9 seem so close in size, I think I will get a p11.

    Thanks, great video.

  • Good review. I'm looking at both the PF9 and P11. I like em both! That 380 is pretty sweet though too

  • ive got a xd40 compact and i find it to bulky to carry. ive been looking for a pf9 do you recommend it and whats a good price around 300? thanks

  • ???? 32 or 380 ?????????????????

  • I Have a question I was on Kel-Tec's web site & I didn't see a PF9 with the double stack, were can I get that particular one from?

  • @MrAuth3ntik Are you talking about the first pistol on the right on the video? The pistol is similar to the PF9 but with a double stack mag is the P11 but there is no PF9 with a double stack magazine.

  • @jdymes101101

That is a truly ignorant comment. It shows what you feel, but has NO basis in truth.

Please cite ANY report by ANYONE that can back up your statement

KelTecs are used by an overwhelming majority by honest, legal, valid CCW holders and armed citizens to protect themselves each day

  • @GunWebsites including my father and i. the .380 hurts my hand though ahhahaha quite a unique recoil... straight into the webbing of my thumb!

  • Nice pistols and good vid!

  • best video

  • I really like Kel Tec pistols. I bought the P-11 9mm single stack for my wife but found out that I really like it myself. Smooth shooter. Think Im going to have to go buy another one.

  • @ SenseiTucker

LOL, I hear that story a lot.

  • @SenseiTucker P-11 is double stack. You might be talking about the PF-9.

  • @GoOfY1537 Nope, I have a P-11 and its single stack.

  • I never heard of a p-11 single stack before? I own a p-11 and mine's double stack 10+1

  • @GoOfY1537 Sorry man, I was talking bout the PF-9. My P-11 is a double stack 10+1. My PF-9 is slightly smaller.

  • @SenseiTucker how do these guns cost?

  • @AfroSchmuck I paid 249.00 for this gun brand new.

  • GREAT video! I have been looking for a size comparison of the P11, its also great to see that the PF9 is approximately the same size. Thanks for the video!

  • There are no external safetys on Keltek pistols, they are all internal

  • i have the 9 single stack green frame..its f"n great...i attached the belt clip and it slips on ur belt and is completely concealed

  • How much r u sealin them for i want to buy the .32

  • i have the pf9 i wuz curious as to where u got that green frame?? i would love to heve that instead of just black its dif. thanks

  • @ BDBakaJR

They make them in a few colors, contact KelTec they might have a spare frame to sell

  • You could also paint the frame with duracoat or some such thing if you want.

  • Nice video. It would be even nicer if you'd tell us newbies the model number of each pistol, instead of just the calibers.

  • doh.. sorry bout that, we'll keep that in mind in future videos

The models are listed in the video notes

  • forgot to mention the p-11 will take a 12 rd s&w mag with extender

  • Great video thanks for comparing these pistols. Now I know the difference between the PF9 and P11

  • glad it helped, thanks

  • awesome video, very helpful, straight to the point...

  • I carry the .32 as a backup, and it's great. I have the 10 round extended mag, and the belt clip. It is so small, that no one can tell I have it inside my pants. I have put over 500 rounds through it, and it has never jammed. I wish I could say that about my Glock.

  • Good comparison video. The Kel Tec PF 9 is my carry gun ( and yes, I chose the grey frame, too). I'm considering the 32 caliber as a back up 'cause it seems like a great pistol but you should have mentioned the 32 version has an available 10 round magazine which gives you a full grip.

  • thanks, good point I forgot about that extension

the .32 offers a slide stop too, that is nice

  • Very helpful comparison and review. Quick and to the point. Thanks for getting a better camera!

  • Thanks, nice comparison. But how do they shoot?

  • pretty good

  • i love my p11. looonnggg triger pull though. takes some getting used to

  • @fathernature4U

The long double-action trigger is the only reason I CAN use the KT's. As a revolver user for decades, I can only shoot SA-only or DA-only autos. The SA/DA models will get me killed. After the first shot with an SA/DA pistol, my hand feels the different trigger position and and unless I am thinking I will start trying to clear the "jam" everytime. I finally gave up rather than retrain a 60-year old brain.

  • if you want to you can get a S&W 59 series magazine (9mm) and it will fit into a kel-tec p11... i read that on kel-tecs website....

  • you should put all of them together vertically so we can see the thickness differences in all. I would be interested in seeing the pf9 vs the p3at in length, height, and thickness.

  • dang I thought I did that. I meant to at least, the main difference between the two 9mm is the thickness, and the two small ones are about the same

  • Comment removed

  • i use the p32 keltec as my carry. you can get a clip draw for it and a 10 round fullsize grip magazine. using hydrashock hollow points i feel plenty safe with a 7 round .32

  • Great video. Am looking at the PF9 for conceal carry. Whats your thoughts on this pistol (I have smallish hands) BTW, picked up the M&P 40 at a gunshow last weekend, very happy with it. Thought the white dot sights where suppose to 'glow' in the dark? sorry to derail topic.

  • good question

IMO the KelTec and M&P are not in the same category..

The M&P is a pistol made with much more precision and attention to detail

    The KelTec is made economically

Sort of the difference between a Yugo and a Mustang (not a car guy, so there might be better examples)

If my life depended on it, I'd carry the S&W

Night Sights do glow, but not in daylight.. You can usually cover the rear sight with your hand and peek in to see them glow.. if not they may be 'regular' sights

  • Great video as usual, love this videos you do of a whole family of models for a manufacturer. It's funny how much the LCP is so similar to the keltec.

  • well the LCP is a P3AT.. the patent expired, Ruger used it to design the LCP, only they improved on it a bit

  • I got a .380 ...Good CC weapon

  • Great video as usual!! I own a PF-9 and love it, great little carry pistol.

  • no lock open on the .380 i wonder why they didnt put that feature in. i love kel tecs pistols. eventualy i would like to get each one of those. from what i have heard and read they make great conceal carry weapons.

  • there wasn't enough room in their design..

  • nice video
