@leftasmokingcrater its my favorite as well, ive always been into cassette tapes, and my the first recording equipment i ever really had was a 4-track recorder, so when i first heard this album i thought it was awesome that they were doing what they wanted with it, even after being signed to Elektra. and from then on after, theyve still always been doing what THEY wanna do. fuckin love Ween.

@thunderwolf1615 Ween was mistaken for a novelty act when they were making The Pod and Pure Guava. They were probably on shrooms, I think of the songs as strange, but not a novelty

@Boognish89 IMO Pure Guava is the best Ween album,when they flesh out these songs in a live setting,the true greatness is revealed. the Tour Guava compilation shows the true greatness of the album

i think the instrumentation is supposed to be thoughts racing through his mind while he is dealing with a bad period of his life... nd he wants to act on them but he keeps telling himself its a tender situtation, so he stays calm and hides all of his thoughts away...

It's not about a bad trip, it is very apparent Dean and Gene have quite the ability to illustrate that if they so please. This sound like a great vibe; possibly apprehensive but not insidious.
