You are so right about the Tarzan work, how about the Tarzan Annual he drew and Steve Gann inked? That's one of my favorite comics, right up there with his work on Wolverine which Al Williamson inked.....I loved it when Buscema came back and did about 10 issues of S.S.of Conan in the early nineties. He and Ernie Chan did a great job on those issues...But I'm rambling....great post, always good to run into a fellow Buscema fan....
@hunkurt Oh yes, marvel had a great team backing him up,with Alredo Alcalas fantastic inks, and Peter ledgers coloring.those adaptions put todays efforts to shame.
well then perhaps you may find my ROM blog site of some interest. youtube doesn't let you ad url links so i'll just spell it out: romspaceknightart dot blogspot dot com
or you can type in Google's word search "blog site for rom fans who aren't dicks". my last few postings have mostly to do with the new Annihilators mini-series which is a pretty big deal for ROM fans. on that blog you'll find a lot of up to date type postings as well as a ton of original fan art much of which comes from me.
i'm a big ROM Spaceknight fan. Sal's pencil's was a big part of what got me into the comic at the time when i was a kid. i think that's great how you mentioned the ROM title and included it's clip art a couple times in the Sal Buscema video. i was around 13 at the time when Sal was replaced by Steve Dikto as the penciler for the ROM series. i was so bummed out about that at the time i almost stopped getting the book.
@holseyd I know exactly where you're coming from. I was a big Rom fan when Sal was working his magic. I anxiously waited for and thoroughly enjoyed the Spaceknight's encounter with other Marvel characters - especially the Hulk, in part because that was the most important book Buscema was working on at the time. And, Galador's own Galactus tale was a very entertaining story. Good times!
another great video tribute just like the first one i saw about Sal Buscema. The How To Draw the Marvel Way by John Buscema & Stan Lee is spot on with the fundamentals to good comic book art.

@holseyd Thanks. Both Buscema brothers could really get it done in style.

@comicbookfan1234 Hey, we could BOTH do one. O'Neil is on my short list, though.

I always liked Buscema's work more than Kirby's. Specially his Avengers run.
