  • As a child going to see the games in late 70's early 80's I always remember Corowa being so fast..... David Michaels from Easts would have been a good race with him though....

  • RUN LARRY!

  • Thanks for the memories.I remember watching him play for the Queanbeyan Kangaroos. He scored 5 tries playing for Eden Monaro against the touring Great Britain team. Before that game,a kid from Sydney was sure that Russell Gartner was the fastest player in the game. When the game had finished he had changed his mind.

  • Does anyone know what the song is called??

  • I feel so proud that im related to him(:

  • o god the black flash himself. What an amazing athlete. Larry was supreme. Thanks for the video.

  • And may I add not only the recognition of Aboriginal sportsmen but indeed all Australian athletes. Larry Corowa is a great Australian sportsmen.

  • Larry Corowa never gets the recognition other Aboriginal sportsmen received.

  • bloody hell he was fast. The Balmain game plan would`ve been "pass it to Larry". And that chip and chase against St George was just rubbing their noses in it.

  • Gotta cringe at the reference to the "little coloured lad" in the song. Love the footage though.

  • He put on weight in the off season 1979 and was never the same.

  • Hows the kick over the top try against the stupid Dragons hahahahahahaha

    Larry is God...

  • corowa beat the stawell gift winner of 78 steve proudlock in a 100 metre race at the wentworth park dogs for a 3,000 dollar winner take all purse, won by 2 metres off even start , dont see pace like his now in nrl happens once every 50 years.

  • CLASSIC FOOTAGE! Larry the Legend! BTW, he was the BLACK Flash not Golden Flash.

  • the Lithgow flash.

  • i remember corowa v gartner race..i thought it was at leichhardt about 1978.he beat him 1st race & then they had to re-run.larry won both.i remember seeing him in about 1980 leaving belmore oval dressing sheds after a game smoking a ciggy..he had lost heaps of that pace by then..

  • 1978 & 1979 seasons.... The very best of Larry Corowa....

  • Don't recall the two racing. I do recall a one off race between Mortimer and Morris, Morris was too quick.

Corowa was a step up though if they were to meet back then.

  • What great memories of Corowa.

I remember him winning the sprint at the league olympics in 78.

What a great athlete who loved scoring tries.

  • If i remember correctly he beat Steve Morris.

  • Actually Larry was first, with Russell Gartner 2nd followed by Terry Fahey.

Morris didn't come to Sydney until the following year.

  • who won between Morris and Corowa? do u know?...was the race run at the grand final?

  • It was the black flash great player

  • golden flash? black flash!
