Hey, i've been thinking about getting that guitar. I just wanted to ask, how's the neck profile? Is it like other Les Pauls or have they made it a bit thinner? Also, how is it for staying in tune?

@kiwambathegiant Thanks :) The neck is a "speedtaper", thinner than other LP's, but it's not an ESP either ^^

The staying in tune was great the first 2 years, but now it's really gone. But I have to admit that I don't play my electric guitars very often since months, and my LP especially needs a setting sessions, also on the tuners ;)

@scotty688 Awesome for Metallica stuff - you need a pedal for the clean sound, the stock sounds doesn't sound really great, but you can still have a good sound with a lot of settings. Sounds great also for AC/DC stuff, but a Marshall would definitely be better :)

Oui, le son sur cette vidéo est sans pédale, et à vrai je me sert pratiquement toujours de l'ampli sans utiliser la pédale que j'ai acheté depuis, pour la disto en tout cas. Je pense en effet qu'il conviendrait tout à fait à ce que tu veux jouer, en revanche pour le son clean, achète un pédale, je ne le trouve pas affreux mais presque celui de l'ampli. Quoi qu'avec un réglage peaufiné pendant des heures, j'ai réussi quelque chose de potable

A little tip: play the lead stuff on the neck pickup and the riffs on the bridge pickup, you'll get a way heavier picking sound with more bite on the riffs that way, now they sound kinda muddy...

On another note, I'm thinking of trading in my Jackson WRXT for one of those guitars... how does it stay in tune after bends, etc?

about the guitar, it used to stay in tune after bends but I think after 2 years and a half of intensive use, it needs some adjustments !

I really hope that it's ur configuration that makes the clean sound so. . . unattractive. I'd hate it to be the guitar itself. The distortion sounds awesome though. As for the guitar parts, minor mistakes here and there; I heard around three I guess.

@hellphilou grandes réflexions là dessus ! Figure toi que je trouve le 81 un poil trop... euh ... froid serait inadapté mais pas assez chaleureux en tout cas pour des bonnes grosses rythmiques ! Donc je joue la plupart des mes rythmiques sur le 85 en manche, qui est lui un poil trop gras dans cette position... -_-' J'envisage pour ma prochaine guitare un set 89/60 (ou 85/60 si je trouve pas le 89 en capot chrome car il y aura un gros travail esthétique sur la prochaine)

@hellphilou je pourrais ainsi avoir les caractéristiques d'un micro position manche mais avec le son d'un 60 plus adapté au rythmiques, et le son bien gras du 89 (qui n'est, en mode humbucker, autre qu'un 85) mais en position chevalet, ce qui réduira le trop plein de matières grasses qu'il procure en manche!

Ok so it's decent, the solo was ehh... Lots of mistakes I like how you didn't just give up and kept playing thru btw I have that same guitar and it's great, the pinch harmonics aren't that good tho I'm surprised u were able to do them so easily, I have trouble sometimes with em but hey good Job keep practicing :D

is it possible that Active EMG has more difficulties to get pinch harmonics?? Because In my case I removed my passive EMG HZ-H2 on my LTD MH-300 by Active 81 and 85, and It seem to me that It was easier to get pinch harmonics with my passive EMGs than my active ones

well, that's a good question. Actually, I have no idea if it's a determinant factor for the pinches, but now you say it, it's true that on my old' Squier on which I setted a passive H4, the pinch are really easy to get. I'll be going to Universal Guitars, my favorite guitar store near to my home and I'll try guitars with passive and active ones... Also, I think I'll ask to to the owner, he surely know this.

Tiens j'ai retrouvé ça dans les vieux commentaires, un mec m'avait déjà demandé : Gain : 8 Treble : 6.5 Middle : 3.75 Bass : 7 Contour : 3.5 Pas de reverb en saturé, j'aime pas tellement... Sinon j'ai légèrement changé depuis, aujourd'hui je joue comme ça : Gain : 8 Treble : 7.25 Middle : 4 Bass : 5 Contour : 3 Ça rend super bien également, et comme tu dis, Bercy c'était jouissif !

You said the only word to say about this amp : heavy !

However, if you put the button at 3 or 5 you have a light distortion but very nice depending of what you're playing. But this this amp is made especially for hard, dirty and heavy sounds.
