  • literally one of the greatest songs ever recorded

  • Great album!

  • And I never tire of music this good. I can see myself listening to this album 1-2 times a day for months at least.

  • Thanks to Sofia Coppola I discovered Shoegaze and I love it.

  • Hard to say "greatest of all time"... but good for sure.... very thick full sound... super artsy... lyrics aint bad either.

  • Kevin Shields... greatest musician to rep queenz yo. thass wsup lol :)

  • I spent the past hour searching for this song, and I almost started convincing myself I had came up with a My Bloody Valentine song in my head, or that it was a different band who sung this song.

Kevin Shields, thank you for such a beautiful song.

  • Thumbs up if Lost in Translation introduced you to this band.

  • @Slyder1982 Nope, I found it myself. :p

  • no lady gaga i dont want to hear you

but i would enjoy intimate sex with you if this played in the background

  • i still remember the first time i heard this, its impact is just as fierce as it was almost 20 years ago!

  • MBV is sex.

  • Dublin, 1995. New flatmate. He loves MBV too. A small bag of weed, several pints of Guinness and this album on Replay. Repeated this ritual many times over the next 18 months. Thanks Dimmo, Thanks Kevin S.

  • for liam. and ciaran

  • this song is all of my weh

  • I really just discovered my love for this band, well, mostly this album so far. Thanks to The Horrors. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS ALBUM IS BEAUTIFUL.

  • I ava adore this song

  • I want to cuddle to this song. ANY TAKERS?!

  • A late night youtube session ends with me logging off and listening to Loveless on my headphones

  • @sprayred This album on headphones is probably one of the greatest joys in life......praying for the day I find it on vinyl

  • no matter how loud you play this song, it still sounds soft.

  • When I go to heaven, this album will be playing in the background.

  • If you don't like this song, you should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself!!

  • Fuck U2. MBV are the greatest irish band of all time

  • @silverfuck77jpm Totally right!

  • @silverfuck77jpm That's a little harsh. Even if you don't like what U2 have become, you can't deny what they were.

  • My Bloody Valentine is the Best shoegazer band ever

  • @TheZuzizuza They're the only shoegaze band for me. No wonder they never released anything else. How do you follow up Loveless.

  • Best song of the 90's

  • I rarely feel sheltered. My surroundings are of ice and vacuum. This is song is one of the last momentary refugees for my homeless heart. Love bless you for posting it.

  • whats a shoegazer

  • @royalnash Someone who listens to shoegaze bands or is in one, I suppose.

  • @royalnash shoegazing a genre of alternative music where the musicians are usually more focused on their on playing so much that they dont bother to connect with the audience but stay in the same place looking down, like the goth kids in south park, hence its called shoegazing, so yes it is like royalnash said someone who listens to or plays in a shoegaze band

  • fourth lyric

  • @OwrKeeng then thirteenth and fourteenth

  • Close my eyes... feel me now.

  • ATTENTION SHOEGAZERS AND GOTHS!!! IM TRYING TO START A RIVIVAL OF THESE TWO GENRES GO TO AND POST AN ADD TO START A BAND Right NOW!!!

  • luv it

  • so cool

  • If you are reading this and don't have Loveless: get it as fast as possible, no matter what. This is not a record, it's a living entity.

  • @soundwarrior Cool comment. And I agree. I don't have this album yet, and plan to get it shortly. It's very rare that I find an album so amazing, compelling, and original. As a musician myself, I find it kind of inspiring. I make it a principal to never rip-off, but to incorporate elements that I love to hear into my own music. Loveless to me proves the power of a lush, epic sound and the effectiveness of a strong pop element.

  • @MetroidFan621 It's really a seminal record. Bands like A Place to Bury Strangers and Fleeting Joys seem to be at least indirectly inspired by MBV.

This record is perfect to listen to while drinking a good beer, having sex or before sleeping. I figure it would be awesome accompanying some driving too. Cheers, mate!

  • What I think MrRobbynick meant is that people who weren't around in 1991 wouldn't understand what this song meant in that time. I kinda disagree with him on that, though.

I was born in 1984, thus making me a 7 y/o when Loveless was released. I got to know this band about 2 years ago. I think what makes Loveless so brilliant is the fact that while it sounds really fresh, like made yesterday, it also makes you feel like you're in 1991. It encapsulates the feeling of that generation perfectly.

  • if you wait 17 seconds and then open the same browser, and layer this song over like 3-5 times it's almost like meditation

  • @garithewheat Get the whole Loveless album (the poster of this video seems to have the whole thing up on Youtube)

Also "You Made Me Realise", "Lose My Breath" and I think "(When You Wake) You're Still in a Dream" are other favorites of mine.

  • Blown a wish, To here knows when,Sugar,All the time in the world,Cigarrete in your bed...those are my favorite ones :)

  • @lainsaysnot

when you say those song titles in that order they make a beautiful sentence.

  • im 22 now and got into my bloody valentine well before i was 18...14-15....so i dunno what the hell that dude down there is talking about

  • according to wikipedia this band is creating a new album but that was supposedly in 2007 and still nothing. Are they actually making a new album?

  • beautiful music!!!!!!!! for all the ages, colors, and religions!!!!!

    GRAND BAND! EPIC NOIR SOUND!

  • oh man...this song has played a major role in my life as a know it. It's like the song i can imagine describing my life. I literally thought i was dying when i listened to this when i was high...

  • Everytime I hear this song or this album I can hardly control myself it is so perfect, so beautiful.

  • So good.

  • Timeless. One of the 10 greatest albums of all time. Unfathomably brilliant.

  • just recently came across loveless, and the whole thing sounds so fresh and original, utterly brilliant songwriting, and a sound which could blow away any meaningless bland pop which is around now.

  • This whole album is incredible. Kevin Shields and his mates did something truly extraordinary. He and this record are a real blessing to so many people!

  • this is the most stunning song ever

  • i dont know what the argument here is but i just wanna say, im 18 in under a month, does that mean i dont understand the music? listening to this album with a pretty good nod on right now and it sure as hell feels like i " get it "

  • Dude, at your age, this song is a perfect sumation of everything you're going through. I'm 21 and looking back , this is pretty much the soundtrack to adolesence. (I mean this all in a good way.)

  • haha its an awesome song man :) good to see someone who im on a level with

although my favourite song off the album would probably have to be 'when you sleep'

  • @MrRobbynick

Well, I turned sixteen a month ago and Loveless' been one of my favorite albums for as long as I can remember, I cried when I saw them live in august. The amount of sixteen-year-olds that are idiots are pretty much equivalent to the amount of "grown ups".

  • @MrRobbynick Why does it matter what age we are? Just because we're younger, we can't enjoy good music? You sir, are the "idiot" here

  • @MrRobbynick

I'm 14, and I can connect well enough. Stop being an ignorant fag and dont belittle people because of they're age.

  • I agreed with you up until you used "ignorant fag." How ironic. I'm nineteen, and anyone can enjoy this band at any age, but it seems you still have a lot to learn.

  • @MrRobbynick

*16 y/o pretending to be older*

  • That noise makes it so unique.

  • dammit

is this song so beautiful or what. dammit guys. haha :)

  • I didn't know MBV the first time I watched Lost in Translation, but I watched it again a few months ago, and Kevin Shield's music in that movie is sheer brilliance.

This song sums up so much the feel of that movie. Especially when they dampened it to a ringing when he carried her back to her room to tuck her in. Beautiful...

  • I'm so crazy about this band and this song.Just amazing.

This is the pinnacle of music.

  • viva kevin shields!

  • reminds me of lost in translation ;)

  • Distorted guitar can sometimes sound so beautiful and harmonic, rem's number 'let me in' is kind of similar, the noice used in this way.

  • One of the most beautiful series of chord progressions ever expressed in a song. Atmospheric. Narcotic, and stunnning.

  • how can this be so noisely and, at the same time, so peaceful, deep, and atmospheric ?

    MBV is unique

  • smile...

  • great song

  • beautiful

  • splendid

  • I adore this song

  • If you don't like this song, I won't talk to you again!!

  • irlandos1 i don't like this song... I LOVE IT!

  • @irlandos1 That was...random.
