  • @TheCrazyMattie Thanks! I'm not sure if it's typically Syrian sounding, I don't really have enough experience. I'm glad you like the sound and look of it though!

  • @thrip no problem its a really kool instrument

  • A white boy with a Oud in his hand , nice.

  • @thrip would you please tell me, how you tuned your Oud ? many thanks !

  • @bejibig2006 I think it is C F A d g c

  • wow i'm looking at oud's on ebay, they aren't even that expensive. do you have any recommendations which company i should look to get an Oud guitar from..

    thanks

  • @freakoutguitarsolo1 Yes Ouds are quite cheap compared to guitars, but buying from ebay is a bit risky. You should go to the forum at arabicouds and read/ask there, lots of good advice and ouds for sale.

  • @thrip

    thank you

  • Great sound i love the oudsound it reminds me of my homeland......

check out my impro its not on a oud but maybe you´ll like it

    keep on

    and 5 stars for ya

  • who's the maker of this oud?

  • Hello, the maker was Mohammed Subhi Dekkeh in Damascus in the 1960's

  • Incredible...

  • Sounds very good. Please tell me, How many strings? What material are the strings? How tuned? Are there frets? Also, from the looks of the instrument, it must cost a fortune.

  • Thanks. There are 11 nylon (originally gut) strings - 1 bass string and 5 pairs tuned C F A d g c. It is fretless. Compared to guitar prices, ouds are very reasonable.
