@raikahoken Because returning a big serve is tough. And I guess many pros would have been on the ball, but Del Potro is 2m high, so he has quite some problems to move. I think Nadal would have catched it.

And Fed only does this on clay, where the ball bounces lower than on hard courts.

second serves are most always slicing/kicking - around 70mph. The first serves are most always ''flat'' serves - around 100mph. Roddick has his top flat serve clocked at 140mph

roddick's top speed is 155mph. and hard hitting servers tend to do slice/kick still with good accuracy exceeding 100mph. its probably 85-90 mph but looks slow because its on a clay court. balls travel slow on clay.

I would say they travel slower, rather than slow:) I think that a well hit, hard struck shot can actually travel with a decent amount of speed through a clay court, even though the clay slow´s down the speed of the ball.
