in England we used to have a program that ran for about 50 years and played favourite songs and classical peices and Deanna was played regularly. then the stupid BBC cut the program and put some silly pop music on.
I absolutely LOVE Deanna's singing & acting. Thank you for posting. I have all of her movies, recording them to beta tapes, then finally getting the DVDs. Often wondered how she would have sounded had she sang Phantom of the Opera songs, especially the one that really goes up very, very high! Of course I know she stopped writing back to fans years ago, but I still wanted her to know how much I admired her singing & acting, wishing she had recorded more LPs. Oh well, get to enjoy them here!
I saw this movie at the tender age of 12, about 13 years ago! It was like a treasure find to me!! I loved nothing more than to see a good old movie for the first time! Nothin' like seeing them the first time!
My channel has plenty of arias performed by Durbin. In fact, if you just look to the right of the comments, you'll see several among the "related videos".
Her singing and acting in this movie is beyond spectacular

To think this was part of movies and popular culture then. How low we have sunk now.

Thank you for sharing one of my favorite operistic areas. She is a doll and her voice is..like an angel. Did she ever recorded any more opera areas?

@Tenorbravo Also, watch any of her movies, she performed at least one aria (and many other songs) in every film.

Good god she has such a beautiful and effortless lyrical soprano! If only she had gone onto the stage and sung opera live.
