@antdude it should already have support if you take the .wad file and use it with a program called Zdaemon and you can possibly launch a server running the mod and maps and play with others that way :D

I remember when the first Doom came out, there was a program that allowed u to modify all the graphics (since this was made with 20 or 40 images per character)

And later came the famous DOOM EDIT, which also alowed you to create your own levels.

so Lots of crazy versions, like porno doom, and one of those alien doom.

I am friends with Deimos, the newer version of this project has been been merged into a project called Aliens vs. Marines. Which is aiming to be the unofficial port of Aliens Online.

This is a project using Zdoom, a port of the original Doom engine. Most likely with a map in the popular "Doom in Hexen" format. The author of this has been keeping busy, no worries.

I have to say this was a very good aliens like game. The only thing I could ask for is a couple allies to go in with me and the machine-gun to right click shotgun shells. Engine certainly looks like DOOM, but there are a couple of elements that should not be possible. How are the inclined walls implemented? Is it a bunch of very thin sectors of slightly different height? Would the engine handle this well?

What about the horizontally sliding doors at 0:50? This was first available in Hexen, DOOM1/2 and Heretic could only have vertically sliding doors.

First, inclined walls, second a horizontally opening door both of which was not available in DOOM1/2.

@Sekuhara For the inclined walls effect i thinks its for using "mouse look" options (like in modern FPS games), originally this game didnt have that mode so it looks a bit weird with that.

For the rest i dont know what the autor did...

@Sekuhara Look into the source ports then. Look into Skulltag and ZDoom. The mapping features in these modern ports enable a lot of what you see, from custom weapons, monsters, graphics (hi-res sprite support), and map features make it able to do a lot of what you see.

Its a shame this guy hasn't updated this in a while, just tried the demo, and its great. I think after playing this i'm going to make a video of the original aliens TC, seeing as there is like nothing of it on here, and, be it that this is better, the original was also great. Its still pretty scary.

General rule of thumb for mods: If they post early videos of a mod "in progress" and get everyone excited for a finished version, it will probably never see the light of day. Most full mods are simply developed relatively quietly and then released in playable form.

This video is great ! And the game too ! Graphics, sounds and atmosphere are perfect ! Good work ! But the playability is not so good. Too little ammunition is frustrating - i´ve killed three aliens in first level and next steps through level is impossible. I had to use cheats to see the whole game. Is it possible to finish all levels without cheating ??.

Very cool total conversion, but why does it look like your character is always half-in the floor? The perspective is way too low. Either the player has been cut in half or they've been shrunk to a midget. I have another Aliens conversion for Doom, but never came across this one.

jejeje, bueno, es que grabé un poco de otros varios niveles anteriores precedentes a esta demo que hizo el autor. En ellos salia el depredador, aunque con sonidos alien y sangre amarilla (quedaría depurarlo).

Así que esa es la explicación, se trata de la primera versión de la demo, menos acabada que la última.

ok i see 2 things wrong 1: the M4A1 *Pulse Rifle* fires 10 mm. Caseless Explosive rounds, it's mentioned in the movie *i have all 4 of the Alien movies* 2: the Pulse Rifle dosen't cock, instaed you just slap the clip in and read the counter *it should say 99, but 95 is close enogh* i hope this helps, dude *i'm not trying to hurt his feelings just trying to give the facts of the movies and the games*

if the mod doesnt have maps then it won't replace doom, if the mod has maps then it will replace doom. Try using either DOOM.wad or DOOM2.wad in zdoom.
