  • Where did the Lyrics go?

  • I love this compositon, would you like to be called as my overseas composition teacher , if u mind?I'm not shame to learn from someone who younger than me, your skilll is amazing me,

    best regards from Indonesia.(fantasyreborn)

  • I remember DBZ when I listen to this song. lol

  • this song will forever kick ass

  • @theawesomeviolinist He's just commenting his opinion lol. Why's everyone so mad for? It's not like he's dissing him or anything. Isn't everyone entitled to their opinion, hence why we have a comments section?

  • have you noticed that, even though you're playing in the key of C, it sounds like Eb Major? it really makes it hard to put it to sheet music by ear that way... :P

  • @allyspy His keyboard is transposed down 1 half step

  • chopin were proud of you =)

  • I'll admit, the lyrics made me cry a bit.

  • fuck yeah! ur so fucking awesome love the piano music!!

    keep it up!!!

  • This is amazing... There aren't enough words to describe it!!

  • very beautiful original composition :)

  • Has the vocalist request been filled?

  • Love it! I am going to have to listen to your music as I study psychology and sociology this semester.

  • This would make such a good anime theme song xD

  • Am I the only one that noticed that his piano is transposed a half step down?

  • @ArmoredPenguin0 No, I also noticed.

  • @ArmoredPenguin0 Yeah, me too. That's why I gave up trying to transcribe it. (Yeah, I'm not very good).

  • @iluvKH4eva No, don't give up. Just use Audacity and set the audio to transpose a half step up, so its "right". After you're finished, just release two versions, the one he actually plays, then a version where you just transpose everything a half step down with whatever you use to make your sheets.

  • @ArmoredPenguin0

    >.<

    YES!

Which means I just don't look at the screen... but finish listening to the wonderfulness that is KL.

  • Hey! If any one likes to listen to original compositions PLEASE VISIT MY CHANEL! thank you :)

  • Very impressed!

  • I want to learn to play the piano as well as you do. But as I listen to more and more of your songs, I realize that that is impossible.

  • @whydontiknowthat its not though go and try it

  • Wow, Muy hermosa. Al principio no me gustaba, porque pense que iba algo en estilo de Chopin, pero a pesar que es contemparenea me gusto.

    Excelente trabajo...

  • A very good build up to the climax. I really liked the bit around 2:32 it was very smooth and interesting =D Good use of arpeggios.

  • I love this song. And I will probably always love it.

  • @kylelandry OMG. Well, it seems that I've raised a lot of controversy with my first comment. I just wanted to share with you what I though of your composition. Of course, there is just a number of ways you can write chord progressions and you can do many different things with them (e.i. change time signatures, keys etc.) that's pretty obvious. Just do whatever you do that makes you happy and try to accept criticism - it makes you grow as a musician.

  • @theawesomeviolinist HAVE YOU LISTENED TO HIS SONGS? What you are saying is not making sense. He doesn't need criticism. Listen to Feelings of Childhood, and look at the info. You'll literally cry.

  • Kind of off-key

  • Pay no attention to what critics say. No statue has ever been put up to a critic.

  • @SilentFlame111 Completely disagree with you. Without critics, people would just be stuck-up fools that no one likes.

  • your original pieces always have a story behind them (i see romantic and tragic love stories/ maybe cause im a hopless romantic/ but in the end they are beautiful just like the whole thing, do you have the sheet music cause i just loved all of your original pieces...keep it up, i know i'll never get tired, they are too wonderful!!!! WOW

  • Great piece =) Would fit perfect to a Japenese movie or game production =) I love the part at 2:33.. keep it up! 5/5

  • aw man kyle your work is awesome

    i loved it

  • All of the keys transposed down a half step...very confusing to listen to and watch the keys at the same time.

    Very nice job, though

  • is there already a sheet for this or will it be purchaseable? otherwise i might transcribe it

  • umm..who cares if it's unoriginal? This is amazing.

  • A tip of advise for song writing.

Try using other chords other and major and minor.

Try using chromatics , augments, Dm7's.

  • You know, I could totally play this! It's in C, not too weird or complicated for me...I think it's about time I played one of your pieces. Another one to add to the list I suppose! I'll have to start listening to this video on a daily basis so I can get the melody completely in my head then I'll be golden.

Anyways...great song! I mean, it's not your best or anything, but i like it because I know i'll be able to play it with a reasonable amount of practice and a fair amount of improvisation. =D

  • @CrashingThunder I totally agree! Just be aware that it's tuned to B, so when you play it in C, it'll sound a half step off (unless your piano transposes) haha. Good luck :D

  • @hunterthompson3 My piano does have that feature. I'm sure i would have noticed when I started trying to play along to this video :)

  • @CrashingThunder Actually its in Bmajor/Abminor. Kyle transposed his keyboard to B so when he hits a C on the keyboard it plays a B.

  • PLEASE! Someone transcribe this! I would if I knew how and had the technology, but I don't.....

  • @iluvKH4eva I wish for the same thing... If only i had the time to do so and the piano or keyboards even i would. But I prefer kylelandry to do it or with his permission of course. but most important thing is the time i must have to do so.

  • how could anyone dislike or have anything negative to say about any of his music? fug all the haters

  • nice but it's not original by all means.pretty unoriginal

  • i want to sing it over and over again.,, so touchy.,, hahaha.,,

  • It's SO relaxing! Emotionally stimulating and it makes you just want to sway and let it sweep you. I love it. Congratulations.

  • Beautiful!

  • Who made that song? Yiruma? It made me cry

And does anyone also have a sheet music for it...?

  • @unshakenpeace lol, in the titles says "original composition", witch means this guy (kyle) made it ;)

  • @unshakenpeace lol, in the titles says "original composition", witch means this guy (kyle) made it ;)

    and there's no sheets :X

  • I just cried.

    I never cry.

You are brilliant; you have melted my frozen heart. XD

  • my fav part is from 0:00 to 3:24!

  • Is there a copy of this music anywhere that I might be able to use in a departmental recital? I may have found a duet partnah!

  • Very inspiring! Well done Kyle!

  • The lyrics are really great! Funny how I never heard them before, but as I read through them I was just singing along as I listened to the music.

  • This is really good.

  • Dear Kyle,

3 months ago, I began learning the Piano mostly with your arrangements and songs project. Most parts of "Passion" and "Separation" work by now (I practiced like crazy), but I always come across those passages where your right hand is playing the same runs in 2 different octaves (like at 1:58). How can I make my thumb and pinky hop around so rapidly? This is so much more difficult than anything else you do :-(

  • hey!

i heard that you might have some links for musicnotes

i want to ask if you have any for billy talent music? would be really cool

    thanks

  • it can be easily made into some song with some lyrics,..... great!!!

  • I have always loved you from the start Just why did we grow miles apart? Now it’s tearing at my heart and I can’t breathe I always thought you’d be the one Me the sky and you the sun Always together and always meant to be No It’s already too late And my hearts about to break I just can’t keep going on Accepting this fate It’s too late
  • Months I've been waiting for your call Do you remember me at all? Would you be there to catch me if I ever fall? Years I'm still waiting here alone In the cold and on my own If I would call would you still pick up the phone? Oh shooting star Shooting star Way too far
  • @squarewaffle wtf?

  • Kyle Landry,

Is this, in any way, influenced by the Japanese?

  • @theawesomeviolinist doesnt matter as long as it has feelings and such. i mean, he wouldnt change the key just for the reason of NOT being stereotypical, hed keep it if it sounded nice though... however, pieces like "One more time one more chance" (piano version) pull off beauty with (somewhat) unpredictability. but yea, the goal of "the separation" is to sound beautiful, which it is

  • @theawesomeviolinist It's not like I don't already know this man, you don't need to state the obvious. And it wasn't hard to write at all for the reason you just mentioned.

This music is written to sell, not to stimulate the intellectual musician.

  • @kylelandry Hahaha it's all about the money! lol

  • @kylelandry That's not music then.

  • @kylelandry Why not both?

  • @kylelandry i think i have to lol @ theawesomeviolinist... I'm pretty sure it'd be pretty frickin hard to find a progression of chords that hasn't been used. ~sigh~ who knows... maybe if you did something crazy and switch to 5/4time you might be able to make something original :P

  • @kylelandry Hey Kyle, I'm disappointed at your reply. He's politely stating his opinion. A word from someone older... listen to your critics even if you don't like what they say or even if you think they're wrong, and take what they say graciously. We need critics to keep us humble and on the right path.

  • @kylelandry i agree with you entirely, music (in my opinion) is not meant to be a selection of notes that require a level of skill to play, it is supposed to be enjoyed, why shouldnt music be simple, just listen to einaudi or hans zimmer, big composers of our time, nothing to intellectual there, just fuckin good music!

  • @kylelandry - I don't give a shit if it was written to sell or not or is predictable. I REALLY enjoy listening to it (as do thousands of others), and that's all that should matter.

  • @theawesomeviolinist You can see plenty more of Kyle's compositions and improvisations for some truly unique and complex pieces.

  • @theawesomeviolinist I agree with you, this can be done as a quick improvisation. But that´s what seems to be "likeable" to most of the people out there, so I don´t blame this guy. That´s something we should be used to.

But this guy has music knowledge, so it´s ok to add one video of this sort.

So Kylelandry: I admire the way you mix a wide range of musican styles, keep spreading the music virus! :)

  • @theawesomeviolinist Despite what some people think, I agree with you. And even if it is just written to sell... I don't have much experience music-wise and I still hear the predictability in the melody and the chord progressions. Generally, the type of music written "just to sell" would sound appealing and would sell well but I notice that the type of music everybody agrees on that is good is actually something non-predictable, something actually unique. And that's the stuff people look for...

  • @OriginalRhapsody Thanks for agreeing! At least he is honest in telling us that he does this for the money and not for personal pleasure. I wonder how many negative votes I got 0.0 hahaha...

  • @theawesomeviolinist .. it's not a song...it's a piece of music as there are no lyrics. I'm musical, and I think this music is beautiful.

  • @Sazzarx I am very certain that I did not call this a song, sir/madam.

  • @theawesomeviolinist Actually 1) Some chords progressions are more natural than others. This song is one good exemple. It does make it sound more predictable but actually such songs are easier to remember and are often well received. We often like it simple. This brings to point 2) This is one reason why this video got more views than his other videos.

  • I found some parts in this song that is similar to others (unavoidable of course).

But i think its a good thing when it reminds me of them XD!

Among them: 0:26-0:34 = "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" (Elton John [the Lion King])

    And: 0:59-1:01 = "FF7 Main Theme" (or a nother ff7 song, I'm not sure)

  • f*ck those 16 people!

  • it feels like i've heard this song somewhere before

  • Wow amazing! I forget that there's actually talent in the world!

  • you composed this yourself?

what am I doing with my life.

  • WOW KYLE! WOW........ Can't believe you made this yourself. I have no words to describe this. Such beautiful melody!!

  • Comment removed

  • you know what? i wish i could write something nearly as beautiful but i cant... not yet. but i hope i will be able to one day. i just wrote a solo and feedback would help me improve alot... please check it out.

good job man keep it up

  • I would give ten years of my life to create a piece like it !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Played very beautifully, nice work.

  • Is this song in A minor or is it transposed? it doesn't sound like a minor key, but he's only hitting white notes. It's not in C major I don't think... Whenever I try to replicate it by ear and sight (I'm pretty good at that--not to brag) but it keeps coming into the key of B major. Is he therefore transposed?

  • @ArminianMorningTea The first note he plays is a C :P My bet would be in C

  • @Euphoria371 (I'm ArminianMorningTea on another channel!) No but it sounds like it is in B major so this doesnt make sense to me unless it is transposed.

  • @ArminianMorningTea the best way to find the key he is in is to watch key the composition starts on and ends on. I most cases a composition will start and end on the same key... Once I for sure know the key it starts in I can use the circle of fifths or fourths for that matter to find the chord progressions but it looks like he is playing open chords as well and possibly in the 2nd inversion but now you have me wondering to so I'm going to see if I can pick it out but as mention it may be Tposed

  • @ArminianMorningTea He

playing in the notes for C major/A minor, but it's transposed a half step lower to B-major/G# minor, hope that answers your question :)

  • Elton John + them lyrcs + that melody = magical

  • No doubt in my mind you've got genuine talent. Very well done.

  • That is just absolutely fantasic. Absolutely fantastic!

  • this is my favorite

  • 100000 view! Congratz!

  • its very good,

  • Very good composition. I really enjoyed it :) I gave composing a go too and just recently posted the results, Check them out and tell me what you thing my friend :-)

  • Sounds a lot like Everyday from HSM at parts. But good job =)

  • have you chosen a singer yet? Because I want to ask a friend of mine on here, katethegreat19, to sing these lyrics because she has a lovely voice and you're an extremely talented piano player sooo.... :D

  • I got it as a response properly :) I hope you like it @kylelandry and @jeffksorenson ! All feedback welcome!

  • @ashleylynnjoan you should definitley sing this song! great voice, althought the equip doesn't support it ^^

  • @Whiplasher85 Thank you much! I've got a better recording in the works.

  • Kyle, you should listen to this song. Crosby Stills Nash: Sanibel. Sound similar? Here are some of the lyrics to it, but it's hard to find on youtube..... There's a ship And its sails a sea of light On its way to me tonight From a distant shore Taking me home once more And the waves And the whistling of the wind Make me come alive again My destiny's at the door Going to leave this town forever And go where I'll never Need an overcoat no more, where they cry...
  • I recorded the lyrics to this song and the video is on my page; now how do I post it as a response to this video?

  • I used to think I was a good piano player......

  • it sounds so familiar somehow lmao, very good piece

  • @megalomike113 I was thinking the same thing also... After searching I found the song, All or Nothing by O-Town. The similar sound is around 0:35

  • very beautiful!

  • @rrsijoson Thank you!

  • Oh there's the lyrics :-)

  • Hi! I love this composition. Its as if there's already a connection the moment I heard this. Do you have words for this? I would want to learn to sing this one if ever. Youre music is just so awesome. God bless.

  • Some people had a computer glitch and pressed the dislike button. Lol. I love love love this!! :D

  • man, this is gorgeous.

    i am just wondering,

may i have your sheet music pls?

  • Can u send me the sheet plsssss. I really wish I can play this song

  • I know you said it two years ago, but if you're still searching for a vocalist and you don't mind that I'd be a girl singing a song written for a man, I'd love to sing this. I've been a professional local singer since I was 18 (so four years now) and I'm quick at picking up melodies and taking direction. If you're planning on producing the song please let me know. My e-mail is arudd@mail.bw.edu. Thanks :-)

  • Without being offending I thought right away: This person knows their anime and the songs used in it.

  • Owmigawd! Sooo cool! Damn! I wanna use it in my still developing game! Waaa!

  • it is a very nice song i like the lyric, can u tell me where to find the music sheet

  • beautiful....watch mine? :)

  • This is my favorite

  • songs alot like after all these years by journey but then again alot of contemporaries have the same chord progressions

  • AWESOME!! VERY GOOD ,

  • your msic needs to go somewhere. yes it is pleasing to the ears but it gets boring really fast. it's similar to the music of yanni. it's like a sentence without a verb.

  • @MrJjzb It progresses, to the climax. I can't see how you can have any more of a verb without an 80-person Epic Choir and a full orchestra.

  • @ForbiddenMelody making a piece more interesting takes more then just adding more intsruments and a chorus. the hard part about composing is taking the melody of the piece and then making it more complex with each variation. though you do have variations they all sound to much alike, the trick is getting the ballance so that it sounds familiare to the melody but yet is a completley different theme. studing music theory can help with this. also spicing up left hand can keep a piece interesting

  • @MrJjzb In fact, I think this composition is great just as it is. And complexity could ruin it, but it depends...

Anyways... Music doesn't get good because of some music theory, the music is good if it is. And weather a song is good or not, depends on who you ask...

The lyrics also has much to do with how much the song touches you.

ps. I guess you're pretty much in to classical music ain't you? (from the way you speak)

ps2. Atleast this song is more complex then "River flows in you"

  • @ForbiddenMelody also you should add some more dissanence to surprise the ear and then bring back the pretty chord progression. the piece is very pretty but feels more like background music. there is nothing in this compisition I have not heard before.

  • @MrJjzb if there was something you hadn't heard before in each and every song... After a while, only the "bad" things you hadn't heard before would be left...

  • @MrJjzb Could you show some of your very much progressing music then?

  • Despite the familiar chord progressions, I was moved by your composition. There's something gratifying about the architecture and harmonic straightforwardness...

  • you really good hope you get famous one day, if not dont worry i am getting my own studio, to do some music i will contract you, and you will be famous and because of you me too lol, where can we learn to play like that?

  • It seems you took many famous songs and took little parts of them and mashed them together. Every 20ish second I can tell you which song that's from.

Nothing wrong with that. When I first started to compose, my mother (piano teacher) also pointed that out in my compositions.

    Keep up the good work.

  • this is really impressive. simple, yet impressive. great composition! i would love to play this. is the right hand playing C major and the left hand playing something different?

  • beautiful, very atmospheric. Check out my compositions on my channel!

  • Wonderful piece Kyle!

I actually wrote my own lyrics for this music. =)

  • this is beautiful but somehow it reminds me of a korean ballad i know. idk why that is exactly but keep up the extraordinary work :D
