With good photoshopping skills you could photograph the backglass, photoshop out the flaws and get a new one printed. This would likely be harder to do with an actual broken one though, than one with flaking/damaged paint. Usually there's a wooden board with the lights on it so the actual mechanical/electronic parts don't normally suffer much unless the impact is severe enough to penetrate the board.

Notice how the camera pans behind the shelf and cart so you can't actually see his arm when he releases the ball.

The reason for this is: if you saw him release the ball, and your view was unobstructed, you could easily tell it is fake. No one would throw a ball that high when you're supposed to be rolling it along the bottom. Seriously, look at how high he threw it.
