  • The new doctor opens his tardis like that too...

  • I am sure after all the years the doctor has spent in his tardis that he would form a "bond" with it (if you have read the manual you will know you need a bond to fly it) so it shouldnt really be a surprise to him lol...maybe he shouldnt have thrown away his manual into a supernova :S

  • @TheRedGoldfish It's called the Rassillon Impurture, Or something like that. It's a symbiotic bond between a timelord and his TARDIS. It basically takes part of a Timelord's DNA and combine it with the heart of the TARDIS or so says the TARDIS enclopedia. He literally can't live without her and she can't live without him. When he dies, so does she.

  • @ToudaHell - ah i see, like in the christmas invasion, the translation that gets in your head didnt work because the doctor was in a really bad state after the recent regeneration - bit of bad hangover you got there doctor eh?

  • @TheRedGoldfish Exactly. :D

  • He did the snapping thing again recently. To impress Amy Xd

  • My absolute favourite moment of Doctor Who, EVER! When the door opens, and the fairytale music chimes, it feels so... magical.

  • the doctors final regeneration is the most powerfull and the most cunning doctor.

  • This clip is a perfect example of why David Tennant is such a brilliant actor. In the space of a few seconds he goes from looking like a 904 year old man (0:12-0:14) to an 8-year old boy (0:26-0:30)--without any special effects or even dialogue.

  • wow it's a small vid but a powerful one. i loved it. well done! : )

  • few tardis`s (it that right?) have ever got to the age of the doctors, timelords seemed to destroy/dismantle them for newer models and the doctor has taken it to places time and again where few if any have gone, that old `obsolite` type 40 may well have through the doctors constant tinkering and it`s own traveling expirence`s evolved power and abilitys far beyond the timelords advanced tardis`s, i dont think we`ve seen what it could really do yet, imagine a pissed off tardis against the daleks.

  • Even the Doctor doesn't fully understand the Tards, its a semi-sentient telepathic quasi-organic machine, which he has used longer than any other timelord ever has. The Master got a new one, and Celestial Intervention Agency unit were assigned them by mission. He's had the tardis as his only home for close to 300 years (based on stated ages from various Doctors).

  • Even though the Doctor said the TARDIS doesn't work like this, that's the point. He thinks pf it like a machine, but it's been grown, so it's a living, organic thing with a consciousness. The psychic link between a Time Lord and his TARDIS can be very powerful. Who says emotion can't come into that? Maybe they love each other.

Mind you, imagine Moffat's Doctor! A man who can send armies running...and 'the blue box' is a terrifying, horrific omen for enemies..!!!

  • they should do a special where the tardis is formed into a living human, and communicates with the doctor

  • The TARDIS doesn't need to be a human or Time Lord, or hybrid. The TARDIS communicates with The Doctor, and he can talk to it.

  • yes but we cant hear what the tardis is saying and i want to know

  • Sometimes, the best things are left unsaid. The TARDIS took him to find his daughter who hadn't been created yet, the TARDIS took him to find River Song, the glowing red interior and showing "Bad Wolf" showed him the end of the universe with Davros. In fact, you could say the TARDIS even protected Donna and the human Doctor and restored the universe to its rightful way.

  • you make a good point i'd hate to get into a argument with you i'd probably lose

  • Honestly, I had time to think up a response and type it out. I mean you make a good point too.

  • you make a better point i mean i just thought about this that if we can hear the tardis then the connection between the doctor and his tardis wouldnet be special....i still want to hear whats its saying though

  • I wish I could hear what it's saying too, but sometimes, it's better to leave things unsaid.

  • Just want to mention how much I thank you for this. It's not often you see a youtube argument where each party is arguing the validity of the other.

  • I forget which book this comes from, but in a few of the Eighth Doctor era books, one of the Doctor's companions evolves into a fully sentient TARDIS who becomes known as Compassion (aka Type 102 TARDIS).

There should be more information on whouniverse . org :)

  • The TARDIS does love The Doctor, and he loves it.

  • @MrPsychic8472 SHE, I reckon, does love him. But it's part of a symbiotic link they share anyway. And she is a living ship!

  • we`ve always had the tardis in doctor who but its more of a vital charcter than we ever thought, perhaps one day we`ll find out more about this mysterious machine, after all journeys end just showed how powerful it is. i wonder we`ve seen even close to what it can really do?

  • well actually the TARDIS is usually grown and if im right takes about 500 years to grow

  • makes me wonder how much the tardis infuances the doctors life, as it`s linked to him the doctor dreamed of adventure and fighting injustice, on a subconcious level does the tardis take him to where and when he`s needed? including finding the right kind companion to take? say 500 years to grow, 500/1000 to become obsolite and almost 1000 with the doctor, the tardis has got to be a good 2500/3000 years old atleast

  • The Doctor is not even 1000 years old, but he's getting there. 945 years old.

  • She says a million days not years. (if thats day you were ever talking about xD)

  • This scene was brilliant and had such a dynamic filming style. it shows as xfileskid said that they TARDIS is alive and they are so close. Without the TARDIS who is the Doctor?

  • this scene shows you how close the tardis and the dr is...TARDIS IS ALIVE!!!!!!

  • i love this scene
