  • The smoke is white, what mean it has nothing to do with too much fuel dose and/or stuck turbo (it would be black). And with well set injection pump (the max dose limit) the engine would never smoke on steady overload.

I would guess the sealing between the head and block of the engine blew up, what let the coolant enter the cylinder.

Or bad sealing in the turbo let the oil enter the hot exhaust passage...

But these fault may be the consequence of prolonged overheating due to long time overload.

  • as you can hear on the background there is music.......

  • i think this gen set is distributing power for the amplifiers when the bass kikcs the amp need more power to push the speaker to pump the bass....... its normal...... dont be stupid on your comments

  • turbocharger or head gasket problems

  • I'd just go with NUCLEAR POWER >:}

Imagine if there was such thing as a portable nuclear reactor! That would be SWEET!!!

  • overloded and it looks like its been used alot so it probably needs a rebuld and on top of that its diesel so it will smoke BLACK wenh overloaded ... try replacing hed gaskets it looks like its not burning all the fule ... if so thats ur problem

  • cylinder head gasket blow or still cold.

  • Comment removed

  • ITS DIESEL.

  • Over loaded, Get a bigger Set

  • looks like it's got some heavy load on it

  • THE FUCKING THING IS OVER LOADED!!

it amazes me to see how dumb people can be its not the fuel its not the oil it has to many things running off it at once it cant keep up

  • @cobaltOUTdoors im pretty sure it wasent overloaded.... the breaker would just trip.

  • lol yea it looks like an Aggreko 150KVA

the bright orange gives it away

and he is right most aggreko Generators even the 1MW gas Sets Do it at Capacity :)

  • @damian75000 no it is not an aggreko, it is a godwin pumps 150kw rental generator, no it is not overloaded, no the turbo is not about to give out. the fuel filter was plugged due to trash in the fuel tank. i replaced the fuel filter and it ran fine... typical john deere 6068.....

  • @rmallen100 Strange on the outside its almost identical to the Aggreko 150kw sets plus i have only ever seen aggreko use that nasty orange color but most of the newer ones are in a white case with aggreko in orange writing for the canopy ones but the container ones are gray with a big black sign saying aggreko global

  • @damian75000 Do you know people who put fuel in these? If so, we can help them with their fuel costs, as an independent agent of greenfoot global!

  • @rmallen100 Do you use a lot of Fuel & oil, then?"per mw for one hour, 240 litres of fuel is consummed. Sump capacity, 990 litres per Mw." Can help you SAVE 10%+ on the fuel, & go 40,000 hours on the oil! Contact me!

  • it was just under a hard load i work for aggreko this is our generator lol they all do that when there at capacity

  • Turbo is about to give out.

  • @DieselMechanic09 nah mate its the supercharger.

  • honestly, looks like a blown turbo seal.

  • look like a blown head gasket judging by the white smoke

  • i agree with old howling hound , it looks like coolant smoke to me

  • It could easily be a collapsed airfilter.

Then it will try to get from the crank-housing and eat all the engine oil

  • yarg, thar she smokes

  • Running under load for too long the piston rings do not create a good seal and oil is left behind. The oil will varnish the cylinder walls and say good bye to your engine.

White smoke is often too rich fuel mixture and black is from un burned fuel. Running at a high altitude ? Running at high altitude? Without a turbo diesel the air has less density and there is not enough heat generated to burn the fuel correctly.

  • @AuroraGenerators

what a dumb answer...if it was wet stacking (assuming u know what that means)it does happen instantly like they claim here...maybe you should stick to toy generators that dont actually have moving parts

  • Fair... hrm, I'm guessing that as others have said it's run on a light load for a while and is coked up, would expect more burning particles in the air, but seems pretty ok to me. Who do you blame? Well, at a fair or event, it's always the bloody caterers and their fryers, bain maries and so on!

  • I agree with old howling hound if its already running and warmed up and this happened all of a sudden, sounds leak water/coolant being burned in the cylinders.

  • How about this? The head gasket cracked and some coolant is getting into a cylinder or two. That would flash to steam and make for the light gray (white) smoke. It's not oil or it would be blue smoke. If the engine were just cold started that kind of smoke for a minute or two is normal, but this generator had been running. If it was running under no load or very light load and then a load was applied you'll see smoke like this.

  • pretty quiet for how big it is, could be underloaded and might be running too rich

  • In my experience if you under load a generator for too long they get a bit clogged up. Usually they clear themselves up when you apply for a nice load that burns the carbon off

  • Looks like the Gen Sets runs on half Load all the time. Just let it run under full Load for let say a hour until the black Smoke is away.Dont be scared if fire comes out of the exaust.

  • It had a bad diesel injector or has a weak glow plug and was just started, nothing serious. It is not an uncommon problem.

  • could be, but it usually clears up once the cylinder warms up, it will fire right off, and that's normal, but the glow plug needs to be replaced soon,

  • I think that is to find the festival more easily or to fair beautiful but its should not pollute

  • Based on past history of generator repairs, we used to get that when a unit of say 10kw was underloaded say 3kw continuous for a few weeks. The carbon clogs up the exhaust, turbo etc. When we load banked them theyd smoke n catch fire till all carbon had cleared away.

  • That's some pollution all right.

  • my diesel heated pressure washer smokes like that bc is takes diesel + oil

  • it is a diesel retard

  • it still wouldnt smoke like that unless something was no right like to much fuel

  • like amfan said turbo or it could have been they dumped the oil change in the fuel tank.we do it all the time at our fair in cali.they smoke like that for a while.

  • Its not a overload or it would shut down because of the drop in frequency. Engine most likely, most likely fuel system related.

  • overload ?!

  • I agree with amfan, but in addition it could also have become overloaded by something large being powered up all of a sudden, perhaps causing the partial turbo failure, etc.

  • Injection time looks off, or a partial turbo failure.

  • someone should shut you off, fag!

  • suprisingly enough, diesel is excessively cleaner that regular gasoline. Even though the smoke is clearly visable, it is significantly easier to refine, and is much more cleaner burning.

    Google it

  • @LynxKat88 Diesel cleaner burning??? are you crazy, the smoke and soot is not cleaner!

  • @discocreator76 Actually, it is...

  • @BlueRollinCoal So how do diesel engined cars need oil that has extra detergents, extra soot cleaners etc. to keep the engine operable?

  • @discocreator76 it is gas emits soat to its just not visible, differnt method of combustion leads to cleaner exhaust on gas

  • @MARINESARETHESHIT We have something that reduces that smoke, to not visible, & burns off the carbon, in the fire deck! plus saves user more than 10% on their hours per gallon usage:contact me
