i have an amazon 7 years old , shes vicious towards children , mayb from previous experiences shes been in many families but shes staying here for good .
Thanks! I have new videos to post soon- he has learned about 15 - 20 more words in the last year. He learned a couple of things by watching you tube videos of other birds.
Hill is right, those are LOUD and need lots of space and toys.
But w/our conure he's over 10, we haven't had any vet bills, and we've had quite a few dogs. We don't let our bird out when he's around, but in his cage, he's not afraid of him.
Our pomeranian would sniff at the bird (standing on hind legs) and the bird would lick at it, probably wanted to bite.
They're not that expensive, I think, but I would start with something a bit more low maintenance than these smart, loud birdies.
My BCC gets annual vet well-checks that are about 100 each. He is also microchipped in case he ever flies away or something. And he chews his toys like crazy! I make lots but it can get expensive if you buy them. He's an ANGEL though <3
How precious, we just bought a 10 week old green cheek. we've had her two weeks and she already can open her cage and get out, and wave hi. how precious are these babies. Love your video, Frankie is a sweetheart.
it helps if you keep on reapiting the same word over and over till they get it down then move on to another word. And it all depends how much you say the word and how the bird is to tell how long
Frankie was 2 months old when I got him and during one weekend at 5 months old he started saying peek a boo and want some, both of which I had said to him for several months before he said them. He had a sibling /hatchmate when I bought him that was only 10 days older and already saying wow and hello.
So I guess it just depends on the bird. Now I can't get him to shut up.
So cute! My blue crown can say peek-a-boo and step up but not "want some". Gonna try that one!

are Blue-Crowned Conure a good starter bird?
If not do you know anything like it (sociable, chirpy, happy (maybe even talk)?
Also can a parrot live happily with dog?
Beautiful bird btw

LOUD. Need lots of space, time, toys, cost a lot of money to keep (vet bills food toys cage perches). Parrots and dogs do NOT get along.

Blue Crowned conures need lots of time everyday with their human, but if you are getting a parrot, blue crowns are very talkative.
