awesome car, unbelievable driving to do that around a kart track. dont forget, no slip diffs, no handbrake, no traction control, its all about mechanical grip and drivers ability, the only ucky bit is that you dont need to left footbrake one of them.

He`s Henri Toivonen (RIP) driving that machine? Did you know that Henri tried to drive a couple of rounds(it was a PR-show arranged by Martini) on Estoril Formula-1 track and with his best time(he drove just a souple of rounds) he would have quolified at 4th position in that year`s Formula-1 race. Those B-goup cars were superior in terms of power and performance with 900 kg of weight and +- 850 hp at their wildest..0-100 km/h 2,4 second on gravel.
The most recent 1 i saw for sale was in 2002 for 70 grand. Not only are they wicked expensive, theres very few of them left, just over 500 were produced but after the 1986 tradjedy, lancia took back most of them and crushed them. Around 20 production cars survived

ACTUALLY as i said the whine is the supercharger - it just is.
delta s4's were the only group b rally car to have both turbocharger and supercharger and the noise is unmistakeable.
All grp b rally cars have straight cut gears but none of them sound like this as they are turbo
