  • @billygoatdawg081992 Keep in mind that Lancia was cheating some times in at the times of group B racing ... Esspecialy on the Rally Monte Carlo they use Salt to prepare the stages to there advantage in the night before the race start´s . Strictly by the rules the Deltals could not be used in Rally . They have to sell 5000 Cars at the time of homologation ,actually 3500 where sold at the date of homologation . Source a former Driver of the lancia team .

  • @Quattroowner I've never seen so many bullshits put together.

    Firs of all Lancia never cheated, second salt was never used to advantage anyone, third Delta was 100% conform to group B rules, 4th the minimum number of car to sell was 200 not 5000. Get some SERIOUS information before talk about the S4!!!

  • @Albe983 in the Case of Delta S4 the Number of 200 is correct , i was incorrect that way , i was talking about the Delta HF that was used after group B .

    The other ponits a absolutly correct . Especially the practice to use Salt on the Tracks ...

  • @Quattroowner ok but companies involved in group A races had to build a minimum of 2500 (5000 since 1991) street version cars in 1 year and put them on sale , there was no rule which said they have to sold all of them. The salt was used on tracks to meltdown the ice accumulated on the track during the night, that would be very dangerous on race, and that wasn't made to advantage the lancia but for safety reasons for all cars.

  • @Albe983 What you say about the Salt is not correct . The Lancia Team used the Salt , not the organizer . If the organizer would have used Salt to change the roadconditions every copetitor would be informed about that , that was not the case . The cheating is a fakt that could not be discussed . You can read a lot about that in Walther Röhrl´s last book . He was a Team member .

  • @sssdfrfwrgr No, not if your gravel scout´s checked the stage and reports that it is icy . It would help you if your setup would include Tarmac tires , but the tires for ice and snow used in Rallysport be eaten up by tarmac . After a few kilometers you tires are ruined , no change to go fast ...

  • awesome car, unbelievable driving to do that around a kart track. dont forget, no slip diffs, no handbrake, no traction control, its all about mechanical grip and drivers ability, the only ucky bit is that you dont need to left footbrake one of them.

  • What a ferocious machine the S4 is, this short video here just made me laugh all way through. i mean it is funny when u have probably one of the most focused cars cars ever built on a go-kart track, complete lunacy but i love it.

  • He`s Henri Toivonen (RIP) driving that machine? Did you know that Henri tried to drive a couple of rounds(it was a PR-show arranged by Martini) on Estoril Formula-1 track and with his best time(he drove just a souple of rounds) he would have quolified at 4th position in that year`s Formula-1 race. Those B-goup cars were superior in terms of power and performance with 900 kg of weight and +- 850 hp at their wildest..0-100 km/h 2,4 second on gravel.

  • The most recent 1 i saw for sale was in 2002 for 70 grand. Not only are they wicked expensive, theres very few of them left, just over 500 were produced but after the 1986 tradjedy, lancia took back most of them and crushed them. Around 20 production cars survived

    delta s4's were the only group b rally car to have both turbocharger and supercharger and the noise is unmistakeable.

    All grp b rally cars have straight cut gears but none of them sound like this as they are turbo
