Dragon Age: Origins Review - Awakening DLC

I almost finished Origins right now. And i have already picked up Awakening hoping it would just extend the story some more. Wow was i wrong. After learning that almost all my companions are AWOL, most of the well known NPC's are nowhere to be found and im effectively starting from scratch despite having the ability to import my Warden... i am having serious doubts i will bother playing it at all. Bring on ME3.

I'm not sure how I feel about the companions. Alistair, Morrigan and Zevran have been my favourite companions near enough for the whole of my journey through Origins, and I'm certainly not keen on the idea of fighting without them.

@mdcarlson14659 no. at this point in if you dont have the game just buy the Dragon Age Origins: ultimate edition. that gives you both the main game and awakening, and all the other DLC's that were out at the time (im not exactly sure if any more content was released after the ultimate edition came out). If you choose to buy just dragon age origins: awakening, you can play it without the original, but you wont have the original

Let's break it down:

Let's say you play WoW and Dragon Age. In a year's time in WoW you buy an xpack that comes out and you get 4 free patches that adds 1 new dungeon for each patch, some new quests, some new weapons and armor. That's about $220.

Let's say in Dragon Age there are 3 new campaign chapters that is $10 each, 5 new sets of armor that's $10 each, and an expansion pack, that's only $110. MMORPG's are still nearly twice as expensive to play, even though you get most content for free.

$40 for about 15 hours gameplay - so if Dragon Age 2 is a 60 hour games, I presume it will be $160. If Dragon Age 2 is only $60, then this DLC should have been $10-15 maximum. DLC is a stealth way to increase game prices. Simple as that.
